CALLER: Thank you, sir. It is a pleasure and an honor to be speaking with the real president of the United States of America.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no. America\u2019s Real Anchorman.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you\u2019re the president, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I can\u2019t raise your taxes yet or tell Arizona <\/a>to go to hell.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you wouldn\u2019t raise my taxes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, I would not, you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you, sir, and I believe that the mandate is going down in flames, but I want to take opposition with you in terms of the enthusiasm that the audience and conservatives would have if indeed it was upheld. I believe that it would immediately spark protests. This is a country that does not like being dictated to. People do not like to be told what to do. And this is the power to self-define the sense of being free in this country. If this health care mandate is upheld, then you are going to see a great amount of enthusiasm and anger towards the liberals, towards Obama, towards the Supreme Court, and so I don\u2019t believe that there is gonna be a deflation of enthusiasm. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Ultimately I agree with you. I hope you are a right. I\u2019m just thinking the initial reaction among some people is gonna be throw our hands up and say, what the hell. I mean, we got a Supreme Court who\u2019s got one job, to determine whether something is constitutional. This clearly isn\u2019t. We wouldn\u2019t even be here if everybody paid fealty to the Constitution. We wouldn\u2019t even be here if Congress, if the White House cared about the Constitution. That\u2019s what you and everybody knows. And if the court upholds this, you\u2019re right, there\u2019s gonna be all kinds of anger. But we can protest the Supreme Court all day, we don\u2019t even know if they\u2019re there.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They got an underground garage. Nobody knows when they leave, when they arrive, how they get there. Protesting at the court isn\u2019t gonna do anything.<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: I think the people are gonna be supremely angry.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, they may go to war. We\u2019ve gone to war to protect our freedom a number of times.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And they will. They will verbalize their displeasure vehemently, and this country will survive under a dictatorship that needs to be destroyed. Thank you, Rush, very much.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, Rahm, I appreciate the call. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Greetings, Rush. Lovely to talk to you today.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much. Same here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just had something I wanted to talk about. I can\u2019t believe that you, El Rushbo, the great, are not talking about it. The point is that Obamacare<\/a> still leaves some people uninsured; is that correct? That\u2019s what I\u2019ve heard. There\u2019s still a small percentage of people that will not —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yes, it does, you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. All right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I remember pointing that out at some point in all this, yes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. So we have billions for Obamacare, there\u2019s still a percentage of people that are gonna be uninsured, and so then the current plan that we have, whether it\u2019s Medicare, Medicaid, there\u2019s a percentage being uninsured that can\u2019t afford it and maybe deserve it, right? So I think what we should do is talk about how many people, what\u2019s the net gain of people that will be insured with Obamacare.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The way to look at this — this I remember expressly — the number of Americans who do not have health insurance who want it is somewhere along the lines of ten to 12 million. This number keeps floating. Thirty million, 40 million that don\u2019t have health insurance. There\u2019s a lot of people in there that choose not to. They\u2019re young, they don\u2019t want to spend the money. They\u2019d rather go out and buy a plasma or an iPhone or what have you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The number who want it, who don\u2019t have it, is ten million, and I remember making the point we\u2019re doing all of this for ten million people.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. We should put a price tag on it. <\/p>\n

RUSH: We could do this for the cost of the food stamp program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, don\u2019t even get me started on the food stamp program.<\/p>\n

RUSH: My point is the health care bill is not about health care. The health care bill is about the expansion of government and the total loss of freedom. Once the federal government has control of your health care, that means they can dictate your behavior. That\u2019s what it\u2019s about. That\u2019s why the Democrats want this. It\u2019s not, as Pelosi said, after it passed, affordable health care for all Americans. It\u2019s not about that. It\u2019s about dictatorial control over people\u2019s lives.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. And, you know what? Let me tell you something. The reason that your popularity is so mysterious to the liberals is because people listen to you. I remember when my husband and I were driving down the road, we\u2019re on our way to work, we stumbled upon you and we\u2019re like, “Who is this guy? He\u2019s saying what we\u2019ve been saying forever.” And it\u2019s shocking. The reason that people like you and your popularity is strong and stable is because you\u2019re saying what we are thinking. The same thing with the Tea Party. The Tea Party is a mystery to the libs. They don\u2019t understand it. They think that it\u2019s, you know, a bunch of toothless gun huggers. And that because we\u2019re not out in the street beating our chest, that we\u2019ve gone away. And that\u2019s just not the way it is.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: They know what the Tea Party is, it\u2019s why it scares \u2019em.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They purposely mischaracterize who the Tea Party is, publicly and in the media, as a means of discrediting and impugning reputations and character for the rest of the American people to decide, but they know, that\u2019s what scares them. They know the Tea Party\u2019s effervescent, bubbled up from the ground, grassroots. That it doesn\u2019t have a leader. That it\u2019s not inspired by some Svengali or pied piper. That this is real and genuine, and that\u2019s why they\u2019re so afraid of it. And look, you have conveyed, you have uncovered the secret. <\/p>\n

The left thinks I\u2019m a pied piper, that you\u2019re a bunch of mind-numbed robots, and you sit around eagerly as empty sponges waiting to be told what to think every day. When the fact of the matter is that all I do is validate what people already think and have thought all of their lives, that they never heard expressed elsewhere in the media back in 1988 when we started. So you are very shrewd. You are very perceptive, and I appreciate your call. <\/p>\n

RUSH: We just were talking about this, and now we have a story from the Washington Examiner. Patrick Kennedy, who\u2019s the son of the late Senator Kennedy, Patrick Kennedy, former representative from Rhode Island — I wonder if he\u2019s ever been there. Yeah, I guess he has, is close enough. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. “Patrick Kennedy warned in a fundraising email for Congressional Democrats that if the US Supreme Court upholds President Obama\u00c2\u2019s health care law, then ‘dangerous Tea Party extremists will go on a rampage.\u2019 The fundraising email was sent out Wednesday afternoon, to raise money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee,” the same bunch that\u2019s told Democrats not to go to the convention. <\/p>\n

Patrick Kennedy wrote: “My father, Ted Kennedy, spent his entire political career fighting tooth and nail for universal health care. If the Court strikes down the law, Democrats will need to redouble our efforts, fighting to ensure universal health care that\u00c2\u2019s affordable and accessible to every American is a reality. If the Court upholds the law, dangerous Tea Party extremists will go on a rampage.” So that\u2019s what the Democrats think. That you people are gonna turn into a bunch of extremist rampaging people.
