RUSH: Here. Grab audio sound bite number 14. This, to me, is perfectly illustrative of some things that we were talking about yesterday. Rahm Emanuel. The murder rate in Chicago<\/a> is out of control. It\u2019s out of sight. People are being murdered in Obama\u2019s town left and right, in Rahm Emanuel\u2019s town left and right. So the mayor of Chicago, “the Godfather,” Rahm Emanuel appealed to the city\u2019s gangsters. He appealed to the city\u2019s gangsters. I don\u2019t even want to flavor this. Let\u2019s just play the audio sound bite. This is on the CBS Evening News last night with Scott Pelley. Pelley said, “After Heaven Sutton was killed, you said, ‘It\u2019s not about crime. It\u2019s about values.\u2019 What do you mean by that?”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

EMANUEL: You got two gangbangers. One standing next to a kid. Get away from that kid! Take your stuff to the alley. Don\u2019t touch the children of the city of Chicago. Don\u2019t get near \u2019em. And it is about values. As I said then, Scott, “Who raised you? Who were you raised [by]?” And I don\u2019t buy this case where people say they don\u2019t have values. They do have values. They have the wrong values. Don\u2019t come near the kids. Don\u2019t touch \u2019em.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, then who are they supposed to kill? Don\u2019t kill the kids; go kill somebody else! This is unfathomable to me. The mayor of the country\u2019s third largest city, via the CBS Evening News, speaks to the criminal element of the city and says, “Hey, pal, get some values, will you? Leave the kids alone. Take it to the alley and kill other people. Kill the busboy when he comes out of the kitchen or kill the chef, but don\u2019t kill the kids. Leave the kids alone. Didn\u2019t you see the ‘Baby on Board\u2019 sign in the back window of the car? What are you doing? Leave our kids alone! Go kill other people.”<\/p>\n

The mayor of the third largest city is asking “the gangbangers,” as he calls \u2019em, to get in touch with their “values” and understand that when we\u2019re talking about killing people, kids are off-limits. (Republicans, maybe. But kids, no way.) Is there a police force in Chicago? Do you think the police force might be utilized to track down and capture the gangbangers? Do you think the mayor might say, “If you keep this up, you\u2019re already on the books. We are gonna hunt you down and we\u2019re gonna find you and we\u2019re gonna prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law”?<\/p>\n

Do you think the mayor might say that? No, \u2019cause they don\u2019t want to make the gangbangers any angrier than they already are. So we just ask them! We beg, in the guise of demanding as a tough guy, “Leave the kids alone.” I remember Rahm Emanuel was part of the Clinton administration, and they made fun of Republicans who talked about family values. Remember that? Rahm Emanuel was one of the leaders of the pack of Democrats who mocked and made fun of Republicans who spoke about family values.<\/p>\n

Yet here he is on the CBS Evening News invoking gangbanger values. “Where were you raised, man? Don\u2019t you know you\u2019re supposed to leave the kids alone?” I\u2019m stunned by this. Not, “We\u2019re gonna track you down and catch you.” Not, “We\u2019re gonna push you to the full extent of the law.” He doesn\u2019t try to intimidate them into maybe ceasing this kind of activity. Just, “Look, we know you\u2019re gonna kill people. We know it\u2019s Chicago. But leave the kids alone.” I\u2019m telling you, this party is a sitting duck.<\/p>\n

The Democrat Party is a sitting duck.<\/line><\/p>\n

With the right campaign, with the right approach, the proper understanding of where we are as a culture and a country today, this bunch is a sitting duck. Now, for Rahm Emanuel, that\u2019s Realville. That statement\u2019s Realville for him. That\u2019s what liberalism has wrought. Gangbanger crime in the city? It\u2019s just what it is. If you try to catch \u2019em, it makes \u2019em even madder and they commit even more crime. We\u2019ll just try to talk to \u2019em and negotiate with \u2019em through the CBS Evening News, and try to convince \u2019em not to kill the kids.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: It should be pointed out in Chicago that most of these children — the kids that Rahmbo is asking the gangbangers to leave alone — are black. Most of them are African-American. We don\u2019t hear about it. We only hear about white Hispanic-on-black crime. We don\u2019t hear about the racial characteristics of the crime in Chicago. But I would ask, “Where are the reverends?” You have the mayor of Chicago asking the gangbangers to leave the kids alone! I\u2019m stunned by it. “Get away from that kid,” says the mayor of Chicago, via Scott Pelley at CBS. “Get away from that kid.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Listen to it again, folks. Rahm Emanuel last night on the CBS Evening News. Scott Pelley, the CBS Evening News anchor, said, “After Heaven Sutton…” That\u2019s somebody\u2019s name. It\u2019s Heaven, as in heaven. “After Heaven Sutton was killed, you said, ‘It\u2019s not about crime. It\u2019s about values.\u2019 What do you mean by that?” Which makes sense, a liberal asking another liberal (translation): “‘Values\u2019? Are you kidding? What the heck do you mean by ‘values\u2019?”<\/p>\n

EMANUEL: You got two gangbangers. One standing next to a kid.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

EMANUEL: Get away from that kid!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeaaaaaah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Leave \u2019em alone.<\/p>\n

EMANUEL: And it is about values.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

EMANUEL: As I said then, Scott, “Who raised you? Who were you raised [by]?”<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: Stop the tape right there! Exactly right. Where did these people get their values? Where did the gangbangers get their values? Where did they pick up their values? Did they pick \u2019em up from Reverend Wright? Did they pick up their values from their families? Did they get their values from the parents? Did they get their values from the schools? Did they get their values from the churches? Did they get their values from political leaders? I\u2019m told that the Reverend Jackson is pretty big in Chicago.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m told that the Reverend Jackson is pretty influential in Chicago, as is — that\u2019s right — Calypso Louie, “Minister Farrakhan.” It\u2019s not “Fa-ra-kan,” say it right! It\u2019s “Far-a-khan.” We are respectful on this show. It\u2019s “Far-a-khan.” No, seriously. Here\u2019s the mayor of Chicago telling… By the way, the gangbangers are largely kids, too. They\u2019re in their teenage years, late teens, early twenties. They\u2019re young people. “Where\u2019d they get their values?” This is the party that has told us that we have no business talking about values. This is the party that has made fun of us for holding up values.<\/p>\n

Traditional American values?<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t like traditional American values.<\/p>\n

“Who are you to tell us what tradition is,” they\u2019ve said. “Who are you to define family values. Why do we have to accept your values!” Some values and customs and morals are timeless. They\u2019re not politically defined, created, attached, or what have you. But any set of values, up until now… I\u2019m not kidding, folks. Values, the Democrats don\u2019t want to talk about values. Because when you start talking about values, then you\u2019re talking about judgment, and they will not be judged.<\/p>\n

“Do not judge us! Who are you to judge us?”<\/p>\n

Now, all of a sudden, gangbangers in Chicago are murdering kids and the mayor says, “Stop killing the kids. Where are your values?” We all know what their values are. They don\u2019t have any. Well, they may have some. Where\u2019d they get \u2019em? I wonder how many guns from Fast and Furious have been showing up in Chicago? (chuckling) Just wondering. I think it\u2019s a relevant question: Where are the gangbangers supposed to pick up their values?
