RUSH: Freda in Tucson. Freda, welcome to the program. Great to have you here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Mr. Rush Limbaugh. I just like to start by saying thank you to you for helping me understand what America is all about and what conservatives are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you. I appreciate that. I really do.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, I was very naive until I heard you because of my husband and, well, your tea<\/a> makes you more famous, more than that. But I was very angry after I hear Obama\u2019s comment about how we need the government to become successful, and that\u2019s totally wrong. I\u2019m an immigrant from Peru. I\u2019ve lived in this country for 12 years, and we just got our success, and we did our own. We worked hard for it. We\u2019re still working hard for it, but we never had any help. We never looked to get any benefits from that. And just to hear him say that we didn\u2019t do it, we didn\u2019t work hard for it<\/a>, it\u2019s totally wrong.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know what he\u2019s counting on, Freda, and he\u2019s right about this, there are many fewer business owners than there are employees. For him it\u2019s a game of mathematics. It\u2019s numbers. He is trying to put together a voting bloc comprised of disaffected Americans. In this case, he\u2019s calculating that he can run around and criticize people who own businesses as greedy and selfish and they got there by using the contributions of others, but didn\u2019t pay them fairly for it, he\u2019s counting on the fact that there are a lot of people,” yeah, yeah, yeah, they owe me. I made it happen for \u2019em, me and my friend, we made it happen.” And Obama is telling these people, “Elect me, I\u2019ll go get what\u2019s yours. I\u2019ll make sure these people pay you.” Those are not the words he\u2019s using, but —<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. It just makes me angry because it\u2019s not. Like this is the first time in 12 years I\u2019ve been living in this country that I felt so qualified. You know, I have never heard about white, black, gays, you know, like, oh, you guys deserve this because you guys were black. No, what I can tell is there\u2019s government, all it does is make people worthless. I get to see it now because I had a cousin who had a job for the first time and now he\u2019s discovered unemployment. He lost his job and he\u2019s sitting at home on unemployment.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Freda, let me ask you. You\u2019ve been here 12 years, you said?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You left Peru. One of the things you left, you escaped your country, you were escaping the government of Peru, right? <\/p>\n

CALLER: It was a corrupt government, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right. So how do you feel? You leave Peru to get away from a corrupt government, you\u2019ve been here 12 years, you gotta be having nightmares, oh, my God, it\u2019s all starting to happen here. Am I right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. Yes. Totally. Now, yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Even before when George Bush was president, we felt this — (unintelligible) Now it\u2019s worse. Now nothing is where it\u2019s supposed to be. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait, wait. I want to make sure I heard you. You felt oppressed when Bush was president, did you say?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no. I never felt this way, never with him, ever. No. Now, that\u2019s when I felt we are all different. We\u2019re categorized for who we are, what color skin we are, or we\u2019re gay. It\u2019s totally wrong. You know, it\u2019s like we moved to this country looking for the American dream, and we came because we know this country has opportunities, equal opportunities for everybody. And if you work hard, you can become successful, and that\u2019s what we did. We came with nothing, we worked very hard, and we still do. And now we finally own our business.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, well, millions of Americans know exactly how you feel. I can\u2019t thank you enough. She basically said that this program helped her to understand America and conservatives, and I appreciate that. That\u2019s why we\u2019re here, to help everybody understand America.
