RUSH: You know, I didn\u2019t find this out \u2019til yesterday. Wait a minute. This is Monday. It might have been Saturday I found out about this. Who would believe this? I found myself in the midst of a Twitter controversy — and I didn\u2019t even tweet anything — with the renowned rapper Ice-T. Ice-T apparently was not happy with my comments. You know, we played a sound bite of Ice-T last week in which he was very concerned about gun control. He said you have to be able to shoot the police. You have to be able to defend yourself against the police. And guns are the last protection we have against tyranny. <\/p>\n
I remember saying, “Well, I\u2019m kind of proud of Mr. T, I didn\u2019t know that he knew what tyranny was.” Apparently that set him off. I\u2019m a racist, big SOB, all this stuff was being tweeted, and I didn\u2019t even know about it until my brother sent me a note including a link to a video that Curtis Sliwa had done defending me, which is hilarious. Here I am involved in a controversy with Ice-T, and I don\u2019t even know it. I remember him on Nightline with Ted Koppel and Ice-T\u2019s in character, angry guy from the ‘hood with the scowl, I forget what the issue was, some riot was going on, and Ted Koppel wanted to get to the bottom of it, and he kept calling him “Mr. T.” (laughing) Just watching the show I was laughing myself silly, \u2019cause Ice-T owned it. I mean he\u2019s got these guys totally intimidated. <\/p>\n
