CALLER: Hi. This is Gail outside of Chicago in Elgin. I\u2019m in the land of corruption. I just want to tell you, I\u2019m honored to be on your show.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I love it, and my husband is the one who got me listening to you. I thank you for your support of women. I\u2019m an independent voter, and I love your show, and you give me hope.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Here\u2019s what I want to ask. I want to ask if you consider yourself a hard-working American?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do I consider myself a hard-working American?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. I know you\u2019re rich, but I wondered, and I know you make over $250,000. But I don\u2019t know if you feel like you work hard.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) I love this. I\u2019m being setup here. I know you\u2019re going somewhere. I\u2019m trying to figure out where you\u2019re going. And see, I\u2019ve only got 15 seconds. I thought I was gonna try to squeeze your call in a minute and a half, but obviously —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yesterday I was listening to a replay of Obama and Romney —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, ah, don\u2019t get started because we don\u2019t have time to finish it. Now, can you hang on? Or, if you can\u2019t hang on, can you give us your number so we can call you back when we\u2019re ready to continue with you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. 847 —<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Don\u2019t do it. You\u2019ll have liberals calling you and you\u2019ll have to start shouting “Chick-fil-A”<\/a> at \u2019em. Hang on. All right. We\u2019ll be back after this. Don\u2019t go away.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: So, do I consider myself a hard-working American? Hmm. See, yeah. I mean, I work really hard, but it doesn\u2019t feel like it \u2019cause I love it. And nobody ever sees me work, so nobody really knows. And even when they see me working, it doesn\u2019t look like work.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s go back to Gail. She held on. She\u2019s in Chicago, and start at the very beginning, Gail.<\/p>\n

CALLER: When I told you I love your show?<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean with the beginning of your question.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, the beginning of my question was whether or not you were a hard-working American. And I\u2019ll tell you why I\u2019m asking this. Yesterday I was home listening to replays of Obama trying to convince people that his tax plan was the right tax plan to go with, and one of the things that really caught my attention was when he was talking about how Romney wants to give tax cuts to the rich, the rich people, which are 250,000 plus earners.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Obama doesn\u2019t want to do that. He wants to give tax cuts to the hard-working Americans, or to the working Americans.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m like, what? So I had to go back later on and listen to it again, and I\u2019m like, the inference — and I\u2019m a teacher. I don\u2019t know if I told you that, a Republican, or Independent teacher. And I had to go back and I\u2019m thinking, by inference, then, if the people who are gonna be get the tax cuts are hard-working Americans, or working Americans, does that mean people like you and people I know actually, \u2019cause my husband\u2019s in business that make over $250,000, are they not hard-working Americans?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly. Exactly!<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was insulted. I\u2019m like, wait a minute. I know teachers — if you have two administrators working at a school, you have two people that are making $250,000 a year.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Yeah. I\u2019m telling you, with your question, you\u2019ve just nailed it. You\u2019ve given me the opportunity to make this point again. Barack Obama is a revolutionary. He believes that we\u2019re in the middle of a revolution and there\u2019s gonna be pain and suffering, and the purpose of this revolution is to make sure the people who are rich, who\u2019ve had it easy, who got lucky and have taken all the money from everybody else, it\u2019s time they give it back, it\u2019s time they gave it up, it\u2019s time to transform society. We don\u2019t have a class system. We don\u2019t have a caste system. He believes that people are born into classes and the rich class steals from the other classes and mistreats \u2019em, takes \u2019em for granted, takes advantage of \u2019em, and, by the way, they don\u2019t work hard. They won life\u2019s lottery. They\u2019re lucky. They just happened to be born in the Lucky Sperm Club, or they inherited it, or whatever, or they stole it from other people or they cheated people. This is honest to God how he looks at it. And it\u2019s also part of the class envy routine to tell these people you\u2019re the hard-working ones, you\u2019re the ones that are breaking your backs, you\u2019re the ones working your fingers to the bone, and what do you got to show for it? Nothing. Because it\u2019s been stolen from you by these lily white rich people. That\u2019s what he\u2019s after. That\u2019s the impression he wants to create.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I totally believe you. And trust me, I am doing everything in my power —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I tell you, don\u2019t doubt me on this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t. And I have not given up hope. I listen to your show because you give me hope.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is economic justice. Economic justice to him is the government taking from the achievers — he doesn\u2019t look at \u2019em as achievers. He looks at \u2019em as thieves or people who\u2019ve been nothing more than lucky. And it\u2019s just not right, those people are gonna have to give it up, and they won\u2019t give it up so he\u2019s going to have to take it from them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Has anybody asked the question how this is going to affect charities? Because, I\u2019m telling you —<\/p>\n

RUSH: He doesn\u2019t care about that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — that I am not going to be giving to charities —<\/p>\n

RUSH: He doesn\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — as much as I did if Obama is going to take my money and decide who gets it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s fine. He\u2019ll become the number one donor to charity and make all the charities depend on him. He\u2019s totally cool with that. Absolutely fine, if he can take away the charitable deduction and other financial incentives to make charitable donations, fine with him. He\u2019s already taken over a car company. He\u2019s taken over the student loans. They\u2019re pressing the banks now to make loans again to people who can\u2019t afford it. He wants to run everything. He wants to be the go-to guy if you need something. He wants the Democrat Party to be the go-to party if you need something. He doesn\u2019t want you relying on yourself. He doesn\u2019t want you depending on hard work. That\u2019s a fool\u2019s game. <\/p>\n

The only people that work hard are the people that get the shaft. The only people that work hard are the people that get screwed. The rich people, you don\u2019t see \u2019em ever doing any work. They couldn\u2019t dig a ditch if they had to. They couldn\u2019t run the cables. They couldn\u2019t build the roads in front of their businesses. They couldn\u2019t even build their own factories. These people the luckiest people on earth, and he\u2019s out to get even with \u2019em here. He believes in trickle-down government, not trickle-down economics. I\u2019m telling you, the guy\u2019s an economic bigot. In my case, as to your question, I am the hardest-working person in the “no” business, but it doesn\u2019t ever look like I am.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know you\u2019re hard-working. I know that.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but if you saw me doing it, you wouldn\u2019t think it\u2019s hard. Do you realize what a burden this is for me, Gail? I mean, even my friends don\u2019t think I really work. Because they never see it. I mean, who can see brain neurons firing? Nobody can see that. Nobody can see mental maneuvering or thoughts or ideas spring to life, particularly when their primary expression comes later in the form of words, spoken words. Where\u2019s the work there? I don\u2019t even write down what I say. So where\u2019s the work? So most of the time people see me sitting and think I\u2019m just the laziest SOB that they\u2019ve ever run into. Members of my own family, at times, “Are you ever going to do anything?” <\/p>\n

“I\u2019m doing it now.”<\/p>\n

“What?” <\/p>\n

“I\u2019m working.” <\/p>\n

“You\u2019re playing with the computer.” <\/p>\n

“I love the computer, but I\u2019m working.” <\/p>\n

“Aw, gee, come on. At least take out the trash and make it look like you\u2019re working.” <\/p>\n

“Well, how about I go feed the cat?” <\/p>\n

“Okay, fine.” <\/p>\n

I\u2019m joking. (interruption) “Cut the grass.” (laughing) Anyway, I\u2019m really lucky. Life is my work. I don\u2019t know how to put it better than that. Living my life, I\u2019m working. That\u2019s as lucky as you can get. When you look at a Cray supercomputer, do you think it\u2019s working? Your desktop, your laptop, you\u2019re looking at it, do you think it\u2019s working? No, it\u2019s just sitting there, a bunch of nuts and bolts. Yeah, folks, it\u2019s tough sometimes being me.
