CALLER: Yeah, hi.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Hey, hi.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Hey, well, good to hear your voice.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Thank you very much, sir.<\/p>\n
CALLER: We\u2019re on some kind of a delay, I guess, but I can hear you. I turned my radio off.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, do that, we\u2019re on a very long delay. A lot of callers use profanity.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Oh, don\u2019t worry, I\u2019m okay.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n
CALLER: You, too.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, you never hear it because we bleep it out. We really have had some profane people on the phone here over the years, so we\u2019ve got a very long delay so we can decide whether or not we want to allow the profanity or not.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Hey, at any rate, I just wanted to let you know that things, I would hope, are better than worse. The cup is more than half full in east-central Ohio, Tuscarawas County. I feel comfortable, I\u2019m 65 years old, 30% taxpayer, 30% of my flow, but I can see coal picking up. I know they\u2019ve closed some plants, electric production plants down, but there\u2019s enough picking up in the coal industry that we\u2019re still making coal here. And also we\u2019ve been blessed here in the three-county area to about two — and I\u2019m gonna use the word B, billion, two billion influx of money, so because of that last year, I think it was two months ago, we were at about 7% unemployment, and this year we\u2019re at about six. So everything created equally, I just have more hope. All of us are in this shining city on the hill that we read about. And don\u2019t get so bogged down in a few things that we can\u2019t say thanks for what we got. Price of wood\u2019s up, too, in case you want to sell a log.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You know what, I was wondering about that. I have some logs, and I\u2019ve been holding on to \u2019em.<\/p>\n
CALLER: There you go. Well, you know, as long as they\u2019re still alive, it\u2019s the best investment and you can make, and you can cash \u2019em in and you\u2019re not limited to market. See, I even have friends that have sawmills. So everybody just pitches in and we\u2019re getting along in Ohio, and I want you to think that things are better than some people say.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, now, you\u2019re in east-central Ohio?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, Tuscarawas County, south of Canton, Ohio.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Okay, yeah, big, big log area, I know, and I know Obama\u2019s in Ohio right now. <\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: There might be a correlation, the log business being up and Obama being in town or being in the state. I mean, who knows.<\/p>\n
CALLER: That was couple years ago.<\/p>\n
RUSH: What was a couple years ago?<\/p>\n
CALLER: When he was in Tuscarawas County.<\/p>\n
RUSH: No, he\u2019s there now. Well, I don\u2019t know if he\u2019s in your county —<\/p>\n
CALLER: No.<\/p>\n
RUSH: — but he\u2019s in Ohio right now.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah.<\/p>\n
RUSH: But, I\u2019ll tell you what, I wouldn\u2019t put too much hope in coal, with Obama lurking around, if I were you. I mean, you may not have heard this, but he has targeted coal as something he wants to put out of business.<\/p>\n

RUSH: He doesn\u2019t care about that. <\/p>\n
CALLER: Once the EPA set the standard, we evolved the technology to meet it. I was a little upset because after we met it and built conveyors for ten plants in Canada, the United States, and Mexico, three or four in each, I think it was, right now we can\u2019t do it anymore. The only way they can — oh. They were dropping whole tires down into the burn when they were making concrete. And what it meant was the temperature increased —<\/p>\n
RUSH: You gotta —<\/p>\n
CALLER: It increased efficiency and burned out the —<\/p>\n
RUSH: You\u2019ve got it all going on. You\u2019ve got logs. You got tires. You got concrete. You\u2019ve got coal. You got Mexico involved, that\u2019s NAFTA, and you\u2019ve got Obama in the state. Why, you are in nirvana.<\/p>\n
CALLER: (laughing) Well, to tell you the truth, I wasn\u2019t too pleased about somebody that didn\u2019t volunteer militarily to go, but, on the other hand, now we got two running, both Obama and publican guy didn\u2019t choose to volunteer early in life.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah. Obama and the Republican guy.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. No, I didn\u2019t say Republican, I said publican.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Publican.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, with a P. Just like when you use the word Democrat with a small D.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right. I\u2019m not quite sure as I\u2019m sitting here talking to you. Who are you voting for?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I\u2019m gonna surprise a lot of people and say that I\u2019m going to vote for Obama this time.<\/p>\n
