RUSH: I continue to think about this, this War on Women<\/a>, and I think how this Akin <\/a>business is gonna be handled. The Democrats already are laying plans for their convention and their media is formulating questions to ask Republicans to try to embarrass \u2019em. Let me tell you what\u2019s gonna happen. Republicans go first, therefore their platform will be made public, and the Republican platform doesn\u2019t say anything about a rape exception. So what\u2019s gonna happen is, it may already have happened, I don\u2019t know, but Republicans are gonna get hit with a question about the platform not having a rape exception in it. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

The Democrats are gonna try to go to town on this Akin thing as much as they can. Their convention is gonna be the pro-abortion convention. They\u2019re gonna end up celebrating abortion<\/a> at their convention. And, folks, psst, let me tell you something. I don\u2019t want you to tell anybody. Let them do it. Let them turn over their convention to Planned Parenthood and to NARAL and every other feminazi out there, you let them do it. Let them go right ahead and turn their convention into pro-abortion. If that\u2019s what they think is gonna win the election for them, if they really think this War on Women thing, that they can play it out, let them do it. ‘Cause you and I know full well that their view on abortion is not the majority position in this country. Not their view on it. <\/p>\n

Now, this question that they\u2019re gonna ask, that they\u2019re gonna attempt to embarrass Republicans, “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, where\u2019s the rape exception in your platform? I don\u2019t see an exception for rape.” Well, by the same token, can I read to you from the Democrat Party platform in 2008. Their position on abortion is more extreme than you would believe. In fact, they have as their nominee a guy who believes in infanticide, which is “Barack Obama! Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!” As a state Senator, Obama supported legislation that would allow, essentially, babies who survived abortions to die if the original intent of the mother for the child to be aborted. If the abortionist botches it and the baby is born alive, another doctor is called in to finish off the original intent. Obama supported that as a state senator. <\/p>\n

Now, isn\u2019t that kind of extreme?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the Democrat platform from 2008 on “choice.”<\/p>\n

“The Democrat Party strongly and unequivocally supports Roe v. Wade and a woman\u2019s right to choose a safe and legal abortion regardless of ability to pay, and we oppose any and all efforts to weaken or undermine that right.” Well, this includes now partial-birth abortion and taxpayer-funded abortion. The Democrats are making it plain they support all of that. The American people don\u2019t support taxpayer-funded abortion. The American people don\u2019t support partial-birth abortion.<\/p>\n

You don\u2019t even have to get into infanticide.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m just telling you: When it comes down to it, they have the vastly more extreme position. They\u2019re the ones with blood on their hands when it comes to the abortion issue. The Republican position is simply one that supports life, pure and simple. The GOP platform\u2019s gonna have the same wording that it had in 2004. There was not a rape exception in 2004 or in 2008 in the Republican platform. And by the way, there is not a rape exception in the Democrat platform.<\/p>\n

They don\u2019t talk about it, either, I don\u2019t believe. At least it\u2019s not in the copy of their plank that I\u2019ve got here. But it doesn\u2019t matter. They\u2019re gonna try to make hay out of this. So the Republicans are gonna have to be very careful. I think were I to advise the Republicans — and, of course, I do, do I not, according to the Drive-By Media? For any and all of you Republicans, when you are asked, “Why you don\u2019t have a rape exception in the party platform on abortion?” don\u2019t answer it.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t get into the substance.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s the trick.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Turn it right around on \u2019em and say, “Have you asked the Democrats why they have blanket support for partial-birth abortion and taxpayer-funded abortion? Have you asked the Democrats why they think it\u2019s permissible for the government to tell the Catholic Church and other organizations they must make abortion available against their religious beliefs?”<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t answer the question, Republicans. Don\u2019t go anywhere near it. It\u2019s a setup; it\u2019s a trap. You turn it right back around on \u2019em and you ask the reporter if they\u2019ve asked the Democrats about the “extreme” aspects of their position.<\/p>\n

The reporter will say (huffily), “I\u2019m not asking the Democrats! I\u2019m asking you!”<\/p>\n

“That\u2019s right. I want you to go ask the Democrats.”<\/p>\n

Pure and simple.<\/p>\n

You remember when Obama was asked about abortion in 2008? He said it was “above my pay grade.” They don\u2019t want to go anywhere near it, and they don\u2019t want Obama as a state senator supporting — call it “infanticide,” <\/a>but what it really was was — a law in Illinois that allowed a botched abortion to be completed. That\u2019s essentially what it was. Side by side, in A-B comparison, there isn\u2019t any comparison in the extremism of the positions by the two parties.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
