<\/p>\nRUSH: Folks, have you seen either the video or the still photo of the filmmaker being rounded up at 1:40 a.m. outside his house in Southern California? I forget the name of the town, doesn\u2019t matter. The sheriff\u2019s department taking him in, apparently on a parole violation, and of course the regime got everything they wanted out of this. They got the guy rounded up. He was wearing a cap low on his head and a towel, a bath towel around his neck and dark glasses. He did not want to be seen. He didn\u2019t want to be recognized. I looked at that, honestly, folks, I looked at that, and I said, “Oh, my God, what has happened to our country?” <\/p>\n

Last Thursday and Friday<\/a> we\u2019re sitting here making jokes as the regime pitifully and pathetically tries to blame an outbreak of violence all around the Middle East on this guy, on a YouTube video that nobody saw other than 12 people at a screening in June. And of course Mrs. Clinton\u2019s out there trumpeting this. Jay Carney said, (imitating Carney) “Of course this is no protest against the US or US policy. It\u2019s simply the video.” It was ridiculous. It was laughably ridiculous. <\/p>\n Then we learn that the president of Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood guy, Mr. Morsi<\/a>, had commanded Obama to dissuade people from criticizing Islam. Then this guy gets rounded up. All he did was exercise his First Amendment rights. That\u2019s all he did. Now, the pretext is that it is a parole violation or something connected to parole because he was convicted of bank fraud. But I thought of that picture of Elian Gonzalez and the armed agent storming in that little house down at Little Havana with Janet Reno downstairs outside waiting to take the kid back to Cuba.<\/p>\n This was far worse. After the sheriff\u2019s office brought the guy in, Nakoula, the filmmaker, was interviewed by federal parole officers, agents of the regime. That\u2019s police state power. That\u2019s brownshirt stuff, folks. And it was all for the photo-op. It was all to further this absurd lie, that what happened last Tuesday, 9\/11, or Monday, in the Middle East had nothing to do with 9\/11. It had nothing to do with Obama. It had nothing to do with the United States. It had nothing to do with militant Islam. It had to do with this idiot who made this little video. Everything had to be done to punish that guy. It had to be done to carry out this silly notion that Obama had nothing to do with this. Scary, is what it is. They\u2019ve just said they\u2019ll round up anybody they need for a photo op to carry off a bit of misdirection that they\u2019re attempting to pull off. <\/p>\n Reynolds pointed out, it doesn\u2019t take an oath of office to grow the economy, or create jobs or all this other malarkey he\u2019s running around lying about. The oath is to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States. He just stepped all over it. It\u2019s serious. And I have to think that the American people silently noticed this. I think the American people are silently noticing a lot of things. I don\u2019t, for example, believe that anywhere near a vast majority of the American people are doing anything other than laughing or reacting incredulously to the regime\u2019s attempted explanation that what happened in the Middle East on 9\/11 had to do with this guy. <\/p>\n The woman that called the program a couple of weeks ago said<\/a>, “Look, Obama\u2019s responsible. He\u2019s run out there spiking the football, ‘Osama\u2019s dead, GM\u2019s alive,\u2019 taking credit for it 21 times at the Democrat convention. That would surely agitate \u2019em,” and we know that it did because the Egyptian protesters were shouting, “We\u2019re all Osamas, Obama.” Clearly it\u2019s President Obama who is culpable for the outbreak of violence in the Middle East on 9\/11 this year. It\u2019s this administration. Keep in mind, this is the guy that was gonna make us loved. This was the president that was gonna end all of this rancor and argument and terrorism. A new face, a new set of policies,<\/a> a new belief that the United States was itself guilty and that we would be willing to say so, we\u2019d be willing to apologize, and this was gonna mollify these people. Conflict resolution 101. <\/a>We never see these kinds of pictures of them trying to apprehend terrorists. We never see pictures like this. We never see pictures of our government going after genuine bad guys. To me, this was chilling. This is the stuff that we have been joking about with people, that this is the kind of guy Obama is and this is where the country\u2019s headed. There it was. We don\u2019t even have to wait for a second term for this to happen. Glenn Reynolds runs a blog, Instapundit. He is also a law professor, University of Tennessee. He wrote a piece over the weekend saying: This is it. Obama should resign.
