CALLER: Hi. Great to talk with you. Regarding Obama\u2019s statement, I found very enlightening that I don\u2019t hear much coverage on, was his comment about pooling resources. We all know he loves to redistribute wealth. But that was pretty plainly stated.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me grab the transcripts. I already put at the bottom of the stack. Let\u2019s see here. Pooling resources, he said that in the sound bite?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. “I think the trick is figuring out how do we structure government systems that pool resources.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s the taking.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Exactly. I\u2019m not hearing much made of that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. That\u2019s the taxes.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: Pooling resources is taxing the producers.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. <\/p>\n

RUSH: If you\u2019re gonna tax the producers to give everybody a fair shot, then the people you\u2019re taxing are gonna stop producing —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — after a while \u2019cause the regime\u2019s just gonna come along and take it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. It\u2019s a pretty comprehensive —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but, you know, that lingo, “pool resources,” I don\u2019t know that the exact term, but at the Democrat convention, this whole thing, “everybody has a fair shot,” was a theme at their convention, and “working together.” They might have said “pooling resources,” but they said something very similar. Pooling resources sounds a lot nicer than stealing.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It does. (laughing) <\/p>\n

RUSH: Which is what he\u2019s talking about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So we are Obama\u2019s stash.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And the 47%, whatever number it is, they are the people who are getting screwed by us, they don\u2019t have a fair shot. They gotta give them a fair shot.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: By pooling our resources, i.e., stealing from us.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s a good point out there, Karen. Thank you very much for the call.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hello, Rush.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m in the 47%, and I am not offended. I support Romney <\/a>—<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a second. Wait a second. Wait a second. You are admitting to being in the 47%. How do you know? What is it about you that makes you in the 47%?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it is a little hard to figure out, but my husband and I both work, and with us both working we earn a total of about $80,000 a year. We are not dependent on the government. So Romney got that slightly wrong even though I support him, but with earning about $80,000 a year, six children with all of our deductions and our mortgage home deduction, we pay in the taxes, but at the end of the year the federal government sends them back to us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yep, there you go, earned income tax credit.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. So I\u2019m calling to say I am the 47%.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right, okay.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am not offended by what Romney said. I\u2019m a conservative and I support him, but he misspoke just slightly because a lot of us pay in our taxes, but the federal government kicks them all back to us, and we\u2019re not all dependent on the government. We take our $6,000 tax return every year, and we use it for vacation money because we trust Mickey Mouse more than we trust this administration to create jobs and stimulate the economy. This administration can send it to Solyndra, foreign countries we don\u2019t agree with —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — or crony companies.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right. That\u2019s exactly right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you use the roads and bridges, get out there to —<\/p>\n

CALLER: We buy souvenirs. It stimulates hotel workers, the travel industry, the flight industry. So we use it to stimulate the economy and spend it in the most prudent way. We do not think we deserve this federal income tax return each year, but since the federal government sends it to us —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — we think we can spend it more wisely than what they —<\/p>\n

RUSH: See, in Romney\u2019s thinking, I don\u2019t think you are the 47%. I think what he really meant was, how\u2019s he gonna win over those who are dependent on the government and want to be, or maybe are because they don\u2019t have any choice. You don\u2019t look at yourself — you are proving my point. You know you\u2019re in the 47%, but you\u2019re really not. I mean, you don\u2019t think of yourself that way.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we\u2019re not dependent on the government for any of our income.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s just that they sent all of our tax money that we\u2019ve spent to them back to us at the end of the year with one large check of 6,000, which we would not normally have, and a lot of people with children at Disney or on vacation might use that to stimulate the economy in other ways by spending it more prudently than what our federal government and what this administration —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — would spend it. Now, with the 47%, that should actually be assumed to be the percentage of people who watch the mainstream media, not the percentage who do or do not pay taxes because I am a conservative.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It\u2019s about government waste. If the government spent our money more prudently we would gladly like to pay more to the government.<\/p>\n
