Let me ask you a quick question. We know the Benghazi attack was not precipitated by the video. We know this now. We know that it was planned in advance, timed to 9\/11. We know that a former Gitmo prisoner had a role in it. We know that our ambassador and three others are dead, all right? We know that there\u2019s no leadership in this country that is dealing with this. Let me ask you a question. By feeding the false narrative about this movie, this video that nobody even saw, could it be that the Obama administration is in fact setting off protests across the Middle East? Isn\u2019t it logical to conclude that every time a member of this administration goes on television worldwide and talks about this video… don\u2019t forget how all this started. <\/p>\n
Some wizard of smart in our embassy in Cairo sent out an official release from the embassy apologizing for this movie before anything has happened. Remember how incredulous we all were. This apology tore into a nameless American who would do things that would hurt the religious feelings of Muslims. They put this thing out before anything happened. And I\u2019ve heard some charitable people say, “Well, Rush, you have to understand. They were trying to head off an attack by apologizing. They were trying to stop the attack.” Don\u2019t make me laugh. Anybody thinks that\u2019s gonna work with this bunch? Appeasement doesn\u2019t work, it never has.<\/p>\n

My point is now they\u2019ve got a built-in excuse. Terrorists all across the world have a built-in excuse, that video. They can engage in any terrorist activity they want, and they know that President Obama is gonna blame the video, not them. They not only have a built-in excuse, they have built-in motivation. First you\u2019ve got Obama running around spiking the football, (imitating Obama) “I killed Osama, I shot him dead. It might as well have been me that pulled the trigger.” Twenty-one times at the Democrat convention, “Osama\u2019s dead, GM\u2019s alive.” They\u2019re mocking these Muslims. Osama may not have been an operational leader, but he\u2019s still their George Washington, for crying out loud, and there\u2019s Obama running around bragging about killing him. We know that bothered \u2019em because in the Egyptian protests, they\u2019re out there shouting, “We\u2019re all Osamas, Obama.” <\/p>\n
So you got Obama spiking the football, bragging about killing bin Laden, and then inciting these people with this video, telling them that there\u2019s this video that some American Looney Tune made. “Yeah, we didn\u2019t have anything to do with it. My administration had nothing to do with it.” It\u2019s like Bart Simpson: “Nobody saw me do it, you can\u2019t prove anything. I didn\u2019t do it.” Now, my question is, could it be feeding this false narrative that Obama is setting off these protests in the Middle East? Had this film lie never been told, had the regime behaved in a more adult and responsible manner, would there be all this chaos around our embassies in the Middle East? Would Pakistan be in turmoil? You know our Pakistan embassy is surrounded now? Yes, ladies and gentlemen. The US embassy in Pakistan is under siege by feeding a false narrative. <\/p>\n
Obama has thrown gasoline on a simmering fire. This is the price of a desperate regime trying to hang onto power, and sadly, for the world, the more desperate Obama gets, the more damage he inflicts on the rest of the world. A, he inspires it, and, B, he offers the excuse. By blaming this video, A, that makes \u2019em mad, the video\u2019s out there, he\u2019s talking about how horrible it is, offensive, and it\u2019s vile, and it\u2019s disgusting. Well, that makes \u2019em protest. And then when the protests break out he blames the video so the guys doing the protest never again blamed, the guys doing the violence never get blamed, the video always gets blamed, why not raise hell? All authored by “Barack Hussein Obama! Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!” who is gonna unify and make these people love us once again. I am so ticked off, I can\u2019t begin to describe it. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Yesterday, Washington, Capitol Hill during a Senate Homeland Security Governmental Affairs Committee hearing on the attacks on the embassies in Libya and Egypt, National Counterterrorism Center director Matthew Olsen testified, and he and Joe Lieberman had a little back-and-forth.<\/p>\n
LIEBERMAN: Let me begin by asking you whether you would say that Ambassador Stevens and the three other Americans died as a result of a terrorist attack.<\/p>\n
OLSEN: Certainly on that particular question I would say yes. They were killed in the course of a terrorist attack on our embassy.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Whoa. Whoa. Intel official under oath, Libyan attack was terrorism, planned terrorism. It wasn\u2019t reaction to a movie. Last night on the CBS Evening News, the anchor Scott Pelley spoke with correspondent Elizabeth Palmer about the attack on the embassy in Libya, and Pelley said, “We were told initially that the four Americans were killed as part of a riot over this anti-Islamic film produced in America that\u2019s caused so much unrest in the Middle East. But what have you been finding out, Elizabeth?”<\/p>\n
PALMER: Most people we talked to, including neighbors around the compound, say there was absolutely no demonstration. That, in fact, the attack began when a group of armed men, as many as a hundred, showed up at the same time at both the compounds main gates, and began firing, both with guns and also with heavy weapons, including rocket propelled grenades and also mortars.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why, that doesn\u2019t sound like a protest to a movie to me. That sounds like a pre-apology planned attack. You got a hundred guys, guns, heavy weapons, RPGs, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars. Why, this directly contradicts what our president said. Our president said it was a video, and Hillary Clinton said it was a video, and Susan Rice said it was a video<\/a>, and then President Obama said again that it was the video. They\u2019ve all been saying it was the video that caused this. <\/p>\n It\u2019s a horrible video. It\u2019s a despicable video. We rounded up the filmmaker. That\u2019s right, we sent sheriff deputies to his home in Cerritos at 1:40 a.m. on Sunday, under cover of darkness. Of course there was enough light for the media cameras to shine on this guy. We rounded him up. We took him in. We held him for questioning. We didn\u2019t charge him with anything because the picture was all we wanted. We turned the guy loose, and he\u2019s such a coward, now he\u2019s afraid to go home \u2019cause he doesn\u2019t want to be hassled by the media anymore, but he has denied having anything to do with the movie. <\/p>\n Meanwhile, Obama keeps saying it was the movie. Obama keeps inciting violence and keeps excusing violence at the same time. Has anybody thought of this? Every time he blames this movie, he provides inspiration for terrorists to get ticked off and start taking out their frustration, and then after they do, and he blames the movie, the terrorists say, “Hey, we can do this with impunity.” They don\u2019t know the word “impunity.” “We can do this, nobody\u2019s gonna come after us. Why, that stupid American president is blaming that movie for everything we can. We can go out and do all this we want and he\u2019s just gonna continue to blame one of his own citizens.” What a deal. Can you imagine the terrorist community has gotta be throwing a party. What a deal. Everything they do gets blamed on an American filmmaker and a movie that nobody has seen. <\/p>\n You know, if I\u2019m Terry Terrorist and I\u2019m sitting there watching this, I gotta be excited, I\u2019m really excited. The president of the United States is making me mad by talking about this movie and how offensive it is, and then when I go as Terry Terrorist and do some terrorism, then Obama blames the filmmaker and not me. I got a total free ride. And then I can also say, “Yeah, and you killed Obama and you\u2019re bragging about it, I\u2019m really mad,” and then blame that on the filmmaker. Now, the thing, Mr. Pelley, you and Elizabeth Palmer, you got problem now because you know that the president lied to you and the Letterman show is on your network. That would be CBS. You had the president of the United States lying to you. You have the secretary of state, Mrs. Clinton — oh, folks, do you know what\u2019s going on in Pakistan? <\/p>\n Aside from the fact that our embassy is under siege, do you know that there\u2019s an ad running on television in Pakistan featuring pictures of President Obama and Hillary Clinton apologizing for the movie. They\u2019re talking about how horrible this movie is and how they had nothing to do with it. And they\u2019re asking to not be held accountable. Don\u2019t blame us. Pictures of Hillary and Obama on Pakistani TV screens telling these people in Pakistan how horrible this movie is, how ashamed they are of it. I don\u2019t know if they\u2019re apologizing for it or not, but they may as well be. It\u2019s on Pakistan TV even after all of this is known. They are lying everywhere. <\/p>\n Now, CBS knows this, Andrea Mitchell, NBC News, they all know it. F. Chuck Todd knows it. What are they going to do? The president of the United States is lying to them, lying to the American people, Hillary ditto, Susan Rice, ditto, what are you gonna do about it? Can you imagine the position they\u2019re in. They\u2019re State-Controlled Media. They\u2019re Democrats with bylines.<\/a> Somebody at CBS made a mistake and actually found out the truth, and then the mistake was compounded, some idiot editor actually allowed it to be reported on the air, and now what do they do? In the real world they have to go ask the president, “Why are you lying to us? Why did you lie to Letterman?” Well, they\u2019d have to. “Mr. President, do you realize witnesses in your own administration and eyewitnesses on the ground talked about the fact the video doesn\u2019t have anything to do with this attack in Benghazi, the death of the ambassador.” It\u2019s not gonna happen. But we know that it did. <\/p>\n Here, let\u2019s go back. We have a montage of lies. Here\u2019s the regime blaming the video for all this last Thursday<\/a>, Friday<\/a>, Monday<\/a>, and yesterday.<\/a><\/p>\n HILLARY: (haltingly) This video is disgusting and reprehensible. It appears to have a deeply cynical purpose, to denigrate a great religion and to provoke rage.<\/p>\n CARNEY: We have no information to suggest that it was pre-planned attack. The unrest we\u2019ve seen around the region has been in reaction to a video.<\/p>\n RICE: It was a spontaneous — not a premeditated — response to what had transpired in Cairo. A direct result of a heinous and offensive video.<\/p>\n OBAMA: Y-y-you had a video that was released by somebody who lives here, sort of a shadowy character who — who is an extremely offensive video directed at — at Mohammed and Islam …<\/p>\n OBAMA: [E]xtremists and terrorists used this as an excuse to attack a variety of our embassies.<\/p>\n RUSH: Now, how are they gonna square this? The voices you heard: First was Hillary talking to the second graders; then Jay Carney saying, “We have no information to suggest it was preplanned.” We just played their own State Department guy, Homeland Security guy, saying it was planned. We have CBS reporter with witnesses saying, “Oh, yeah, it was planned! Mortar fire, RPGs, hundreds of guys. We were working on this for a couple days.” And here\u2019s Susan Rice: “Spontaneous, not premeditated.”<\/p>\n
