CALLER: Hello, Rush. How you doing? Hey, listen, I got a comment about Lee Iacocca, and I don\u2019t understand why we don\u2019t hear more about what he did for Chrysler a few years back. With no government money, no stimulus, no nothing, he picked them up from nowhere and put \u2019em right back on the map. You know, where are the American people who don\u2019t remember that?<\/p>\n
RUSH: He did. He paid it all back.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yeah, everybody did. We didn\u2019t have any government takeover. We didn\u2019t have any government putting leaders in there to (unintelligible) like GM, we\u2019re —<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, you know what, after that happened Lee Iacocca was a hero. He was a role model for a lot of people. There was a real man. There was a guy who took out the loan and paid it back and saved the car company in the process.<\/p>\n
CALLER: That\u2019s my point. Everybody\u2019s running around like Bob Beckel acting like Obama\u2019s done something by saving GM. He\u2019s done nothing. You had a regular man —<\/p>\n
RUSH: I love it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: — who went out and did it for this country.<\/p>\n
RUSH: You are absolutely right. The guy in the mom jeans who can\u2019t even throw out a real first pitch at a baseball game saved GM? What a crock.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Absolutely.<\/p>\n
RUSH: By spending other people\u2019s money and then screwing the bond holders over in the process and giving it to the autoworkers? Save GM, my tush. That is an excellent point.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It\u2019s not paid back now. It\u2019s not gonna get paid back. They tried to get out of it at GM and they won\u2019t even let \u2019em because they want the ownership because they\u2019re outsourcing all the jobs to China. I don\u2019t know where the American people are at, but let me tell you about one more thing, and then I\u2019ll get off the air. I want to tell you about this leading from behind that he does. And you\u2019ll love this. Take a quarterback. He goes out on the field, he tells the guys in the huddle, “Here\u2019s what we\u2019re gonna do. We\u2019re gonna run up to the line of scrimmage here, you\u2019re gonna snap the ball to me, John, and we\u2019re gonna stand up and we\u2019re gonna let \u2019em run all over our butts, and then I\u2019ll lead you from behind.” Well, after they get about two plays of this, the team goes back (unintelligible) quarterback down on the field, says, “Go lead, buddy.” You know I\u2019m saying? That\u2019s what Obama does. There\u2019s no leadership in him.<\/p>\n
RUSH: That is true, too. There isn\u2019t any leadership. In fact, there\u2019s a void of leadership in a lot of Washington. I think one of the reasons why there\u2019s so much angst across the country, Tom, is that there doesn\u2019t appear to be any leadership anywhere. It\u2019s just a bunch of followers that are people afraid of what the media are gonna say about \u2019em or afraid of what other people are gonna think about \u2019em, rather than rolling up their sleeves and just doing it.<\/p>\n
CALLER: That\u2019s right. And here\u2019s one last thing, please.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You just said that was the last thing.<\/p>\n
CALLER: I know that, but I lied. (laughing) I got some Obama blood in me, too, see. But here\u2019s how this goes. American leaders are born. The leaders everywhere are born, they\u2019re not made. I don\u2019t care what anybody says, and if you don\u2019t think so, you take a leader and he may not ever become a leader in this country, he has the potential, but if he is a leader and he becomes a leader, he\u2019ll lead. A guy like Obama who\u2019s put into a leadership role because he thinks a leader will fail just like he does when the pressure\u2019s down. That\u2019s why nothing is happening in the Middle East and North Africa right now because he\u2019s trying to lead from behind and all he\u2019s tried to do is wait around and see what that happen —<\/p>\n
RUSH: What is this lead from behind business, anyway?<\/p>\n
CALLER: I had never heard it in my life until he brought it up, lead from behind. Like this Libya deal when they sent the airplanes in later and never got to Iran because they were leading from behind, you know. I don\u2019t know what the hell leading from behind is, but I just had to think of it in his terms the best I can.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, Obama\u2019s a community organizer, and Saul Alinsky said that organizers are not leaders, by definition, and he got that right.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
