CALLER: No problem. I just want to tell you: I was born in \u201986 and my dad raised me on you. So I\u2019m a Rush Baby<\/a>. Rush Baby here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m just glad you didn\u2019t outgrow…<\/p>\n

CALLER: Anyway, bless his heart, he passed away three years ago from cancer.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m sorry to hear that, but I\u2019m just glad you didn\u2019t outgrow it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. (chokes up) It\u2019s kind of emotional. I\u2019m sorry. But, anyway, since his death listening to you on the radio is really been a comfort for me. But, anyway… (chokes up) Sorry, I\u2019m getting emotional. So it\u2019s just an honest pleasure to talk to you. But my question is: What are they covering up for with this video? Like, it\u2019s my absolute first time calling you. I listen to you all the time, but it\u2019s my first time calling because I\u2019m really upset and I want to know what they\u2019re covering up for with all this talk about the video. It obviously can\u2019t be about this video.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So your question is: Why did they stick with blaming the video for a full week?<\/a><\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ll tell you, there are probably a bunch of reasons. But here\u2019s what I think they were trying to do. You have to understand how these people think, how they really are. They have knee-jerk reactions to things. They have narratives and things that trigger them into believing those narratives. So here you had this happen. What was the filmmaker? He was Christian. What does that mean to a liberal? It means extreme, right-wing freak or what have you. I think that the first thing they tried to do was turn this into a campaign issue rather than a national security or foreign policy issue.<\/p>\n

I think when this happened somebody in the White House, either the administration or the campaign, saw an opportunity to link this filmmaker with Romney. Even though Romney\u2019s a Mormon, he\u2019s still a conservative, and this guy — the filmmaker — is a conservative, and what was he doing? This guy was making fun of the Prophet, making fun of Islam and so forth. I think there was an effort here to turn this into a campaign issue. I also think they would love nothing more than to be able to clamp down on free speech. They would love nothing more than that. It\u2019s like Fast and Furious.<\/p>\n

They would love nothing more than to take guns away from people. If you remember when Gabrielle Giffords was shot, it was Sarah Palin. When The Dark Knight Rises incident happened in Colorado<\/a>, it was the Tea Party. They\u2019re like Pavlov\u2019s dog. When an event like this happens, they knee-jerk, they go immediately to “it\u2019s the Republicans\u2019 fault. It\u2019s the conservatives\u2019 fault.” In this case the benefit was, if they could pull that off that it would hurt Romney, because it would make people afraid of voting for Romney because these are the kind of people that want Romney elected, these are the kind of people that would end up running the government, running the country, wackos and freaks and kooks like this.<\/p>\n

The thing that they don\u2019t realize — and I don\u2019t think that they do — is in the process, Jenae, they were exonerating Al-Qaeda. They were exonerating terrorism. Here\u2019s an opportunity. On the anniversary of 9\/11, you have this incident happen, four Americans dead in an obvious terror attack, and they wanted to exonerate that. They wanted to see to it that those people that actually did this did not get the blame. They wanted to shift the blame for their own domestic political benefit. I\u2019m certain of it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. So, then, what do you think about the liberal movie coming out about bin Laden?<\/p>\n

<\/a>RUSH: How Obama killed him and how Obama\u2019s great for doing it? I think this is… well, it\u2019s not just the movie. The Democrat convention, they mentioned 21 times at that convention that Obama killed Osama. Osama\u2019s dead; GM\u2019s alive. And don\u2019t forget, in Egypt, before Benghazi happens, at the protests at our embassy in Egypt all these Al-Qaeda guys, all these terrorists who are protesting outside our embassy are shouting, “We\u2019re all Osamas, Obama.” I think he was the one fueling this. I think Obama\u2019s the one spiking the football, taunting them. Whether he knew it or not, this movie, if you go back to their convention, they staked Obama\u2019s reelection on two things for four days. Osama\u2019s dead and GM\u2019s alive. Those were the two themes for three days at that convention. So the movie fits right in with the theme. They don\u2019t even think that it — \u2019cause in their minds, they\u2019re not capable of being responsible for violence like this. They\u2019re not capable. They\u2019re the good people. Passionate, but nonviolent. They\u2019re pacifists and so forth. I think they\u2019re a totally screwed-up bunch. However, I don\u2019t mean to portray them as innocently ignorant. They are purposefully deceitful with all this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know. If they still release this movie I just think it\u2019s gonna be just another button that we\u2019re gonna push before it retaliates back against us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Look, the way to remember this, or to explain it, always blame America first. If you\u2019re a leftist, always blame America. It can\u2019t be the terrorists\u2019 fault. We had to do something to make them mad. In this case, the video. That has to be it, the way they think. It\u2019s always our fault. After 9\/11 happens, liberals in the State Department wanted to convene a forum on, “why do they hate us?” It\u2019s our fault. What did we do to make them mad? Is it our support for Israel? How can we change to make them stop attacking us? And so when they start assigning blame like this, okay, it\u2019s always America\u2019s fault, then who in America? It\u2019s always gonna be a Republican or a conservative. And the next reason for this is that it was a crisis to exploit for the purposes of the campaign.<\/p>\n

Solving it, getting to the bottom of it, the effect on US foreign policy, didn\u2019t matter. The only thing that mattered was the impact it had on Obama and what he wants at the moment, which is his reelection. If health care still were not decided, if health care were still being debated and this incident had happened, they would find a way to link the filmmaker in some fashion or other to people who oppose Obamacare, to try to discredit those who are against Obama. If that was the issue. The issue happens to be Obama\u2019s reelection. So whatever happens is going to be reacted to and positioned within that framework.<\/p>\n

I know these people. I know them better than they know themselves. I know what they\u2019re gonna do every time an event happens. Obama, he did call this a bump in the road. He doesn\u2019t know it; he\u2019s not aware of it when he does it. They\u2019re on a different planet. They have a whole different mind-set about things. You can\u2019t — and I seriously mean this — you can\u2019t really rationally explain them. People go nuts trying to do that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s no different than Mayor Doomberg, the Times Square bomber, it had to be a disgruntled American conservative unhappy with Obamacare. Whenever these domestic things happen, they\u2019re looked at as an opportunity for the left to expand its power by tying the right wing or conservatism to all of these disasters. And what\u2019s fascinating is that 99 out of a hundred times, conservatives have nothing to do with what happened.
