RUSH: Here\u2019s Cindy in Loganville, Georgia. Hi, Cindy. It\u2019s great to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Thank you so much for taking my call. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: My pleasure.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a little bit nervous, so just bear with me. First-time caller. I\u2019ve been listening to you since I married my husband in \u201982. (sic) So quite a while.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Which came first?<\/p>\n

CALLER: The marriage came first, but he started listening to you and then —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I see. Cool.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — turned me on to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Excellent.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let me give you… I\u2019m going to try to give you a brief background of why my husband is in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait one sec. I heard you say “Afghanistan.” You said \u201982 or \u201992?<\/p>\n

CALLER: We got married in \u201984.<\/p>\n

RUSH: \u201984. Okay. All right. Cool.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sorry about that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No problem.<\/p>\n

CALLER: In 2007, I became unemployed, and he volunteered to be an activated Navy Reservist. He was with the Navy. And after that position ended after a year, he rolled into a State Department position in Iraq.<\/p>\n

RUSH: 1982. Yep.<\/p>\n

CALLER: So he got back from the Iraq position in 2011 and tried to get a job here in the States with no success. The man has a master\u2019s degree.<\/p>\n

RUSH: In what?<\/p>\n

CALLER: But, you know, the economy is what it is.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What\u2019s his degree in?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Business, an MBA.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow. He\u2019s got an MBA?<\/p>\n

CALLER: A Master\u2019s in Business Administration, yes. So —<\/p>\n

RUSH: And he\u2019s unable to find a job in Obamaville.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (chuckles) Yeah. Pretty sad. And I\u2019m still unemployed myself. But, you know, that\u2019s just another story. <\/p>\n

RUSH: No, it\u2019s not just another story. It\u2019s unacceptable is what it is! There\u2019s no excuse. Because the reason that you and 23 million other Americans who want to work are unemployed is because of policies that have been put in place by this administration. It\u2019s not just another thing. It\u2019s not just another story. It\u2019s something that ought not be the case. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, it\u2019s the way it is.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: It ticks me off. See, it\u2019s become the new norm. “Oh, well, I\u2019m unemployed.” You don\u2019t want to tell me the story. I understand why you don\u2019t want to go into details on it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, for the sake of my husband.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But the fact of the matter remains that that\u2019s not what this country is.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: People who want to work, the opportunity ought to be there. And there are ways to fix the problems that we have and not one of these problems we\u2019re having — that you\u2019re discovering, that you\u2019re interacting with — is gonna be solved with these current policies in place. It isn\u2019t gonna be.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No. But, anyway, he was able to get a job with the Department of the Army as a contractor, and he\u2019s now in Afghanistan. I\u2019m able to Skype, thank goodness, so I can see him. But, obviously, as you know, they are continuously — on a daily basis — bombarded with rockets, IEDs, and obviously the blue-on-green attacks. I called our congressman. I\u2019m trying to get something working there. But the bottom line is, based on the Rules of Engagement, our service members are not permitted to fire back. They have to take it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: We\u2019ve heard about this. Let me tell you something, Cindy. I don\u2019t know when — it was last year, I think, time flies — we heard that some place in the administration they were actually contemplating (I don\u2019t think they ever did it) giving out a medal for “courageous restraint,” meaning not firing on a target where there might be civilians and so forth. They actually were gonna give medals to members of the military for not firing. We\u2019ve heard about these Rules of Engagement, and that\u2019s another thing. Obama\u2019s announced the exit date. So he\u2019s announced to the world when it is acceptable for us to lose the war in Afghanistan and get out.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Which is what a date means.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, this is what my husband told me. They have cameras around the base, and they can actually see insurgents loading the tubes to fire the rockets into the base. Now, obviously the individual who\u2019s loading the tube is not a civilian, is not an innocent civilian.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But is dressed like one, nevertheless, right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I don\u2019t know how he\u2019s dressed. But they can\u2019t fire on this person who\u2019s loading the tubes to fire the rockets into the base.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Why?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Based on the Rules of Engagement.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but what\u2019s the rule?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Basically they\u2019re not allowed to fire back.<\/p>\n

RUSH: There\u2019s gotta be a reason, though. It\u2019s probably because the terrorist firing the thing is dressed like a civilian.<\/p>\n
