CALLER: Hello, Rush. How are you doing today?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to let you know what a profound impact you\u2019ve had on my life. I\u2019ve only been listening for about three months, and I really haven\u2019t followed politics not at all in my life. But because of you and my in-laws as well — they kind of pushed me in your direction — we ended up watching… Excuse me, I\u2019m a little nervous. But we ended up last night watching 2016<\/a>, and an eye opener it was. I think it even goes beyond a Democratic-and-Republican issue. It\u2019s an American issue.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And it was frightening, to tell you the truth. It was absolutely frightening.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you weren\u2019t following politics at all your whole life. How old are you now?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Forty-eight. (chuckles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: You\u2019re 48. What was it? What was it that made you think you ought to get into it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, you. You and the information that you cite. You know, you don\u2019t BS anybody.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but how did you come across me? You\u2019re out there avoiding politics. How did you come across me? Your in-laws?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, my in-laws. They\u2019re Republican. Actually, they\u2019ve always voted Republican. They\u2019re actually registered as independents.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So what they\u2019re probably telling you is, \u00c2\u201cYou\u2019ve got to listen to this Rush guy. You\u2019ve got to.\u00c2\u201d And you\u00c2\u2019re saying, \u00c2\u201cNo, no. I don\u2019t like politics. I don\u2019t want any politics. It\u00c2\u2019s the same old bunch of liars. I don\u2019t want to get into it.\u00c2\u201d But they respond, \u00c2\u201cYou gotta listen to this Rush guy,\u00c2\u201d and you finally did?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. You know, I\u2019ve been a union member for many, many years —<\/p>\n

RUSH: A-ha.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — and it\u2019s always been pushed as far as, you know, Democratic, Democratic, Democratic.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019ve ignored that, too, because I didn\u2019t necessarily drink that Kool-Aid either.<\/p>\n
