RUSH: This is from the Associated Press, and it actually sounds like they\u2019re livid here. The headline of their story: \u00c2\u201cRomney, GOP Suddenly Plunging on the Democrat Turf.\u00c2\u201d They\u2019re upset that Romney is spending money in Pennsylvania. The AP\u2019s upset that Romney is spending money in Wisconsin and Michigan and Minnesota. They\u2019re upset.<\/p>\n
Who does he think he is? Those are our states!<\/p>\n
\u00c2\u201cWhy Romney shouldn\u2019t be able to do this! Those are our states.\u00c2\u201d That\u2019s the way this thing sounds when you read it.<\/p>\n

RUSH:The AP here is: why are the Republicans doing this?<\/p>\n
Why are the Republicans plunging into our states? Those are Obama states. Who do they think they are? What are they doing? Why should Obama have to spend money? It isn\u2019t fair. You\u2019d think the AP would have trouble with this if the Democrats were plunging into traditional Republican states? <\/p>\n
Here\u2019s how they analyze this. And there\u2019s no way of knowing, as I said in the last hour. “Republican efforts in the trio of Rust Belt states –” Pennsylvania, Michigan, Minnesota — could indicate that Romney is desperately searching for a last-minute path to the needed 270 Electoral College votes — without all-important Ohio. Or just the opposite, that he\u2019s so confident in the most competitive battlegrounds that he\u2019s pressing for insurance against Obama in what\u2019s expected to be a close race. Or perhaps the Republican simply has money to burn. Use it now or never.”<\/p>\n

The Obama campaign, for what it\u2019s worth, the last and first of these explanations are exactly what the Obama campaign is saying. “Well, they don\u2019t have any way of winning Ohio. They know they\u2019re done in Ohio. They\u2019re trying to create a new path. Romney\u2019s a rich guy, just got money to burn, doesn\u2019t want to have any left over. He\u2019s not gonna share with anybody. He\u2019s not a nice guy,” blah, blah, blah, blah. So that\u2019s how the regime is explaining it all. <\/p>\n
