CALLER: Well, thank you very much. I appreciate the encouragement you offer with all the research that you do.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Thank you. I appreciate that. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n
CALLER: And I have to say something in my defense. You talk about early voting, and normally I love to vote on Election Day. But we just had our first grandbaby (chuckles) and we have our second one due any day. So, instead of missing the vote, I did decide to go to early voting.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, congratulations, congratulations.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thank you very much. So, that is kind of an extenuating circumstance, I would think. But I didn\u2019t want to miss voting so I did go today. Our assessor\u2019s office and several other offices in the Lake County area are letting residents come in. You have to show ID. You have to go through all the process that you would on Election Day. Lake County is, and has been for many years, a Democratic stronghold.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, I know. It was a big county during Operation Chaos.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, it was.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Remember that, Hillary and Obama? Lake County went Hillary because of us.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well —<\/p>\n
RUSH: And there were all kinds of shenanigans that went on there. Didn\u2019t somebody have to quit or resign in disgrace or something?<\/p>\n
CALLER: Lake County has always been a little questionable.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But I\u2019ve lived here all my life.<\/p>\n
RUSH: It\u2019s close to Chicago.<\/p>\n
CALLER: It\u2019s very near Chicago, yes. But I wanted to call with some encouragement for you today because my daughter and I went for the early voting, and when we did a lot of the discussion seemed definitely… I mean, they were talking about fiscal responsibility. We need to, you know, drill for our own and provide our own. This was even coming from people who I knew that they had said they were retired teachers.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: There were a few there that were in the union, and you definitely knew which way they were going. But the majority of the discussions that I overheard, and I was kind of listening, were talking about needing to be more responsible and needing to get away from the socialism.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Let me tell you what\u2019s happening out there with this early voting. At least from the polling data that we\u2019re seeing, both from the Pew people and Gallup… Some people could equate enthusiasm with early voting. People are really excited go out there and vote, and from what you\u2019re telling me, it sounds like Republicans were there when you were there.<\/p>\n
And, again, that\u00c2\u2019s anecdotal. You can\u2019t assign any meaning to that because there have been many days prior to when you went, and who knows what happened on those days. But it\u2019s still, I imagine it was uplifting for you to hear and to see all that. It was inspiring. So coupled with that and what you heard on the program today, you\u2019re loaded for bear. You\u2019re ready to go.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Yes, I am. And then that grandbaby to boot, so… (giggles)<\/p>\n
RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right.<\/p>\n
CALLER: But, yes, it was very encouraging. They said it was a little over two-hour wait today, and they said it keeps getting worse. So they\u2019re having longer and longer waits.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Well, that\u2019s from the Obama and polling-worker standpoint. It\u2019s better for us.<\/p>\n
CALLER: Well, that\u2019s what they told us today.<\/p>\n
RUSH: If it\u2019s getting worse, it means more Republicans are showing up to vote early. Particularly in Indiana. It\u2019s Lake County, but it\u2019s still it could be Republicans. We will choose here to believe that, because I\u2019m oriented toward positive stuff. So congratulations on the grandchild coming, another mouth to feed, and raise. Have fun with it.
