RUSH: CBS, LA: “Thousands Of LAX Workers Set For Walkout On Thanksgiving Eve — Employees at Los Angeles International Airport were considering plans Friday to walk off the job ahead on what is traditionally the busiest traveling day of the year.” The director of the Southern California airports division of the Service Employees International Union said that more than 400 LAX workers who do not have affordable family health care are going to walk off the job because the city didn\u2019t comply with the living wage ordinance. <\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

What are these people unhappy about? They just won the election. They ought to be dancing in the streets and happy. They\u2019re miserable. I don\u2019t know what they\u2019re trying to do here. Get more members, just make life a living hell for people. One of the two. But this is their modus operandi. I mean, and they are such a minority in this country. <\/p>\n

Then CNN from New York. “As Walmart workers prepare to stage a walkout on Black Friday, the world\u2019s largest store is fighting back.” Do you know that most Walmart campaign money went to Obama? I did a double-take when I saw that. And I\u2019m gonna have to check that again. I\u2019ve gotta double check that. I mean it was hundreds and thousands, and what I saw, 80%, I think, went to Obama. I may confusing it, but it stood out, so I\u2019ll double-check it. Anyway, Walmart\u2019s filed a complaint with a federal agency accuse — no, no, I take it back, it was Costco. Yeah. Now I\u2019ve confused myself. I\u2019m gonna have to look it up now. But there was some stunning stuff, breakdown of the big money, the hundreds of thousands and where it went. A lot of it went to Romney, but there are some surprising donations that went to Obama. <\/p>\n

Anyway, so you\u2019ve got the unions trying to stop Walmart, trying to stop people flying at LAX and a number of other little stoppages all over the country. And why? ‘Cause they don\u2019t have enough giveaways. They don\u2019t have the pension they want. They don\u2019t have the health care that they want. I thought Obama fixed all of that. I thought Obamacare <\/a>was gonna make everybody happy, particularly on the left. <\/p>\n

Now, we had an item yesterday, and I don\u2019t know that this can be discussed enough. Not only is it illegal, but you have these Republicans who want to really take issue with Romney, and they\u2019re doing it with me<\/a>, too, but not by name yet. This Santa Claus business. Romney went out and said it. <\/a> So they\u2019re focusing their fire on him. But don\u2019t doubt that they mean me, too. But when you look at this, I don\u2019t know how you don\u2019t conclude that — in fact, I don\u2019t even need this. The idea that it\u2019s news to people, the Democrat Party is the party of redistribution, which is taking from one group and giving to another group, taking from the haves and giving to the have-nots, what is that? <\/p>\n

Even the Thomas B. Edsall piece in the New York Times on Sunday<\/a>, “We have a fight shaping up here between taxpayers and tax consumers.” What is that? But my point is, Republicans think — and maybe, I don\u2019t know, some of you. “Yeah, you know, Rush, we just gotta stop sounding so mean to the women and to the Hispanics and we\u2019ve gotta be more inclusive,” and what does that mean? <\/a> It means we\u2019ve got to be more like Democrats. We have to make Hispanics think that we don\u2019t oppose immigration. We gotta make women think that we really don\u2019t mind if they have an abortion. <\/p>\n

My point is that no matter how close we get to duplicating or replicating what the Democrats say, they are always gonna be able to move to such an extreme position that we will not go there and the same situation will exist. They can still point out, “Republicans really don\u2019t care about women. Republicans really don\u2019t care about Hispanics.” I just want to ask you, what should the Republicans do about this. This is the story, that Obama has a website, USA.gov, that promises, details, illustrates and guides immigrants to all of the welfare benefits that they can get once they get to this country. USA.gov is the website. Government benefits. <\/p>\n

“Depending on your immigration status, length of time in the United States, and income, you may be eligible for some federal benefit programs. Government assistance programs can be critically important to the well-being of some immigrants and their families. Frequently, however, there is a lack of information about how to access such benefits. Benefit programs can be complicated and you may be given misleading information about how they operate. … The links below will lead you to official government websites describing a range of assistance programs.” And there\u2019s a list: Medicaid, food stamps, Supplemental Security Income, federal information on other languages, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, information on access to federal benefits and services for immigrant survivors of domestic violence. <\/p>\n

Let\u2019s say you\u2019re a newly arrived immigrant and you just got beat up, there\u2019s a website, a government website that you can go to for benefits. Now, this is blatantly illegal. But nobody is going to say it, and nobody is going to charge it because they\u2019ll be said to be mean-spirited and extremist and what have you. But refusing to admit what this is is a denial of reality and a pathetic attempt at pandering. So what should the Republicans do in response to this? This is exactly what I mean. Do you think the Republican Party ought to put up its own website? When you arrive in the United States as a newly arrived immigrant, you might need some benefits and here\u2019s what we in the Republican Party want to do for you. Would we have a website of benefits? And, by the way, this covers practically every benefit they can get. It\u2019s health care, it\u2019s food stamps, it\u2019s contraceptives, it\u2019s abortion advice, it\u2019s Medicaid, Medicare, housing assistance, I mean, this is the how-to and where-to of virtually every government freebie that might matter to anybody, not just a new arrival, but to anybody. <\/p>\n

Temporary Assistance for Needy families, food stamp programs, Supplemental Security Income, SSI. We\u2019re talking newly arrived immigrants, citizens, whatever you want to call \u2019em, we\u2019re talking about tacking \u2019em onto the Social Security system. Now, how can anybody say on the one hand this is not Santa Claus<\/a>? How can anybody say that what the Democrat Party is not doing here is offering giveaways to people? How can they say that the Democrat Party is not buying votes? They can they say that the Democrat Party is not trying to create a dependence among people, particularly new arrivals on the government, i.e., the Democrat Party? So what are the Republicans supposed to do? “Well, Mr. Limbaugh, you\u2019re not supposed to sit out there and describe this as Santa Claus.” <\/line><\/p>\n

Why? It\u2019s exactly what it is. I\u2019m convinced the Santa Claus argument irritates so many people because it\u2019s easy to understand, and it\u2019s so descriptive, it\u2019s so apt, it\u2019s so fitting. “No, you\u2019re not supposed to blow the cover like that, Limbaugh, no, no, no, no.” But my point to you is, there\u2019s no way the Republicans are gonna set up a website like this and offer newly arrived immigrants or anybody else instructions on accessing the welfare state. If they do, they cease to be Republicans, and we don\u2019t need them. So for everybody who thinks that we need to moderate, we need to be more like Democrats, what\u2019s the answer to this? Seriously, what\u2019s the real-life answer and what\u2019s the political answer? They ought to be the same thing. What is it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
