CALLER: Hi, Rush. Forgive me for being nervous. It\u2019s a real privilege to talk to you. Please don\u2019t get upset with me for saying this, but please stop telling everybody that Barack Obama is Santa Claus.<\/a> When I grew up I thought St. Nicholas was a really great guy because he breaks into your house and he leaves presents he made himself and then he runs away before you can thank him, which is a purely Christian concept. I never found this anywhere else —<\/p>\n

RUSH: What, breaking and entering is a Christian concept?<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

CALLER: No, leaving presents and not expecting anything in return.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Oh.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Unconditional love. You know, he\u2019s a saint, he was a real man. I think it was the emperor Diocletian who had him beheaded. But that\u2019s history. Anyway, but Barack Obama does not break into my house and give me presents he made himself. He breaks into my house when I\u2019m at work. I\u2019m a nurse. I go to work. I work really hard. When I come home I feel like the guy broke into my house, stole all my best stuff, and drove two towns away and he\u2019s handing it out to people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I know.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They don\u2019t even know it\u2019s from me, and I\u2019m wondering where all my stuff went.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know what, even if they did, they wouldn\u2019t thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, probably not, \u2019cause they think I owe them. <\/p>\n

RUSH: Exactly.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was raised by a very liberal family and I was a liberal because I didn\u2019t know any better because my mom said, “Oh, the liberals care about poor people,” which is kind of like saying, “Well, Santa Claus cares about poor people,” but my oldest son went to a book sale, and he saw these books by you, See, I Told You So and The Way Things Ought to Be, he was 12 years old, and the guy said, “Oh, don\u2019t buy those, that guy is a troublemaker.” So my son bought them and he follows me around the house reading these books at me, and it was like these lights were going on in my head, I was thinking, “Oh, my goodness, this guy is telling the truth. I\u2019ve been an idiot my whole life.” Now, my oldest son is in the military now so he\u2019s not here to speak for himself but I have to say I really credit that kid with being smart enough to try to say, “Look, mom, there\u2019s a different way of seeing things here.” So I want to thank you for those books. I want to thank you for Two If By Tea.<\/a> <\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My oldest son loves that stuff. And we love it. It\u2019s really the best —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wow.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — the best iced tea I\u2019ve ever had, and even if it\u2019s not cold, it\u2019s thirst quenching and so delicious.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, that\u2019s fabulous, wonderful. I really appreciate that. Thank you so much. Thank you so much. The Santa Claus business is just a simple way of explaining it. And by the way, it has been pretty effective \u2019cause they\u2019re all going bat excrement over it. It was just a little innocent throwaway. Elizabeth, thank you much. <\/p>\n

CALLER: I noticed a while ago you said about the late-twenties women, that they don\u2019t vote Republican. I\u2019m 26, and I didn\u2019t vote for Mr. Obama the first time, and I didn\u2019t vote for him the second time, either.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Good for you. But most women your age who are unmarried are.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Well, I\u2019m single, not stupid.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there\u2019s a line there. But there are some of you there, but exit polling data is pretty clear. The vast majority of women under 30 who are single or divorced voted Obama and Democrat as —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and I think that\u2019s a real shame. I think it\u2019s our duty as an American citizen to do out research on who we\u2019re voting for and why we\u2019re voting for that reason.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, obviously it is, but they think they\u2019re doing research when they hear the president. What greater authority could you have when this guy says that Republicans want to take away your birth control pills? And what does that mean? Means you\u2019re gonna get pregnant. What\u2019s that mean? You don\u2019t want the baby. And then Republicans are also gonna stop you from having an abortion. You can\u2019t take the chance. You vote Obama to save you. That\u2019s how it works. There\u2019s no research involved. It\u2019s all about insecurity. Anyway, I appreciate the call, I really do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
