CALLER: Hi, Mr. Rush Limbaugh. How are you today?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well, sir. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to comment about the shooting in Connecticut and stuff. I blame the parent on that. I don\u2019t blame no gun laws. I blame the parent and somebody should sue that lady for having that dangerous son around all them guns. Somebody should sue her. Somebody should take that family to court and sue them. You know what, it\u2019s your fault. You shouldn\u2019t have that son around them guns.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You want to sue the mother. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. I want to sue her estate. You know, she got a quarter million-dollar house —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay, I was gonna remind you that she was among the deceased.<\/p>\n

CALLER: She got an estate and she got a will. Has the will been read and stuff like that, that money should —<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s the mother\u2019s fault because she had all those guns around such a disturbed young man?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And taught him how to use them.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: If she hadn\u2019t had the guns, she wouldn\u2019t have been able to teach him.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That\u2019s right. She probably got some violent video games in the house and everything.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019m having trouble understanding your animus for her and why you want to sue her estate.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay, use her for example. If the parents in today\u2019s society, everybody, says, “I\u2019m not responsible for this. I\u2019m not responsible for this. I\u2019m not responsible for that. It\u2019s somebody else fault.” Look in the mirror. That is your responsibility. If you don\u2019t want the responsibility, put him up for adoption. Get rid of him. And I believe in that, \u2019cause I\u2019ve got two daughters and stuff. If my daughters do wrong in any kind of way out there, I\u2019m gonna take responsibility for it. I\u2019m not gonna blame anybody in office —<\/p>\n

RUSH: So let me ask you this. Let me ask you this. How do you feel about Joe Biden being put in charge of all this?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Let him be in charge. Still the parents should be responsible for their kids. It\u2019s nobody\u2019s responsibility but the parents.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but, I mean, how is Biden being in charge of this making it the parents\u2019 responsibility?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the parents should say, you know what, who\u2019s in charge? I\u2019m gonna let some guys in the White House, or I should, say, step up to the plate, this is my kid. I should be responsible for what my kid do in society. If my kid go outside and shoot, and I bought the gun for my kid, I\u2019m still responsible.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If my kid get the car keys and drive my car and run through the mall —<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, I haven\u2019t heard that. Jeff, I appreciate the call. In everything I have heard, I have not heard this. I have not. This isn\u2019t collective. This is the essence of individual responsibility. It\u2019s the mother\u2019s fault. She should have had this child committed, certainly shouldn\u2019ta taught him anything at all about guns, and if she was unwilling, she should have put him up for adoption. Have you heard this theory? That it\u2019s the mother\u2019s fault? From anybody else, have you heard that theory? <\/p>\n

The elected class, it\u2019s the gun\u2019s fault. Among the elected class, it\u2019s America\u2019s fault. There\u2019s something innately wrong with America. The elected class is gonna think that. But in your talks with your friends, your associates…<\/p>\n

(interruption)<\/p>\n

You have heard this, you have? I have not. I have not heard this level of vitriol aimed at the mother. So would this mean, for example, that parents should be responsible and go to jail for all of their kids\u2019 crimes? Do you realize how many adults would be in jail in Chicago?<\/a> Well, how would that work in Chicago? I mean, if you strip it all away, the caller\u2019s point is you\u2019ve got a demonstrably mentally ill child that you are teaching how to shoot guns within the survivalist context. And what is the survivalist context? Somebody is coming to get us, kid, son. They\u2019re coming to get us, or the days on earth are numbered and we\u2019re gonna all have to fend for ourselves or whatever. <\/p>\n

CALLER: The last comment that you made is kind of my theory on what might have possibly happened. The survivalist theory. Maybe the mother over the last couple years has been a doomsdayer over Friday the 21st and in his less than normal mental state that he obviously lived in, could he possibly have done this because he aimed his weapon at the children and women, could he possibly have done this as a type of mercy killing in his thought process?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: I\u2019ve heard that theory. I\u2019ve heard that theory put forth, and this is from the charitable, trying to say that the young man was actually in his own warped reality, saving people from the end of the world. It\u2019s Friday. It\u2019ll end sometime during Open Line Friday, I think, if I\u2019ve read the calendar right. Anyway, we can speculate all day long. That\u2019s just a theory. And then, of course, we have the latest bit of information, that he cracked over being threatened with being committed to the funny farm. He didn\u2019t want that. He wanted no part of being institutionalized, so he cracked over that. <\/p>\n

You know, we\u2019re still learning things about why Jovan Belcher, the Chiefs player, did what he did. <\/a>There\u2019s a new story out today about why he went nuts, and the latest theory is that his girlfriend, his baby mama, was threatening to take the child and all of his money if he didn\u2019t marry her or stop seeing some other woman or some such thing.<\/p>\n
