I realize some of you low-information voters <\/a>are just now getting up. (laughing) What am I talking about? They\u2019re not even listening here! Never mind. Sorry, folks. Here\u2019s the Scott Brown news: “Scott Brown of Massachusetts on Wednesday became the first sitting Republican senator to voice support for a federal assault weapons <\/a>ban after the Newtown, Conn., shootings. Brown failed to win re-election in November, however, and won\u00c2\u2019t be in Congress to vote on gun legislation.”<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

He said, “As a state legislator in Massachusetts, I supported an assault weapons ban thinking other states would follow suit. But unfortunately they have not and innocent people are being killed.” He has guaranteed that, if he\u2019s gonna stay a Republican, he\u2019s gonna lose forever now. This is how Republicans lose. He may pick up some independents with it, but I don\u2019t even think he\u2019s gonna do that.<\/p>\n

This is how Republicans lose. They move to the left. They get embarrassed of who they are. They become afraid of espousing conservative principles, and they move to the left, and they water themselves down, and they lose. Perfect example. What Scott Brown is doing here is exactly what the Republican Party has been doing. It\u2019s what they\u2019re doing now. By the way, they lose the election and what do they do?<\/p>\n

“Oh, my God! We gotta stand for amnesty. Oh, my God! Oh, my God! We\u2019ve gotta relax our position on the social issues! Oh, my God! Oh, my God! We gotta be more like the Democrats.” You think the Democrats are gonna give up any of their voters? Do you think the Democrats are gonna welcome these Republicans in as liberals? No way. Here it is. This is exactly what Scott Brown\u2019s doing here is screwing up his own career.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t care if it is Massachusetts.<\/p>\n

This is what Republicans have been doing that guarantees defeat, pure and simple.<\/p>\n

I have another earth-shattering story here. I intended to get to this in the first hour, but the reason I didn\u2019t is the more I kept talking in the first hour… The smarter I got, the smarter sounding. It was sheer, genuine brilliance in the first hour, and I saw no reason to shut it down. Now, I realize talking like that makes women nervous and is threatening. But at the same point, I have to be honest about it.<\/p>\n
