RUSH: Folks, this day could be a total bomb because not much has gone right. It\u2019s one of these days where I\u2019ve got stacks of paper here and I can\u2019t separate pages. The pages are sticking together, and that really ticks me off. And I just threw a cigar at the waste basket which is only two feet away, and I missed, and that ticks me off. I mean, it\u2019s little stuff like that. Just trying to plug in the audio feed to my belt-worn cochlear implant took me five seconds longer than usual. That ticked me off. So who knows what\u2019s gonna happen here when the program starts unfolding before your very eyes and ears. Just giving you a heads-up. <\/p>\n

Did you see where Iran\u2019s foreign ministry seems to be endorsing Chuck Hagel<\/a>? Speaking of, the Washington Post has noticed something. The Washington Post has noticed that every Obama appointee is a white guy. There aren\u2019t any women. The women are being dispatched. Lisa Jackson over the EPA, Susan Rice, no mas. She\u2019s gone. We don\u2019t hear much from Valerie Jarrett. We don\u2019t hear from Michelle (My Belle). The cabinet and the czarinaship — well, there are no czarinas. It\u2019s all white males in the Obama camp. And of course the Washington Post, they don\u2019t criticize or condemn it. They just sort of scratch their heads in curiosity as they notice it. It must be an oversight on the part of Obama, because he\u2019s a good liberal. He\u2019s into diversity. So it can\u2019t be something that\u2019s conscious. <\/p>\n

No liberal, no good liberal, no good socialist could ever just besmirch diversity in this way. And then, I don\u2019t know if you noticed this or not or if you\u2019ve heard about this, but a number of Second Amendment defenders are planning a pro-gun rally on The Mall in Washington on the Saturday before Obama\u2019s immaculation. That is going to drive the Drive-Bys crazy. They\u2019re already insane over guns. They\u2019re insane over the fact that a majority of Americans, a clear majority wants guns. They are blown away by the popularity of guns. They are scared to death that so many people are now going and buying guns, because, you see, the Drive-Bys, they\u2019ve tried everything they can. They\u2019ve tried to make the Second Amendment be something that was written for hunters. <\/p>\n

Have you ever noticed that when you hear a liberal talk about the Second Amendment they always say, “Well, I\u2019m all for guns. Clearly we should have guns for hunting.” That\u2019s not why the Second Amendment was written. The Founding Fathers didn\u2019t put the Second Amendment in the Constitution for hunters. If you read it, “well-regulated militia.” What the hell is that? It\u2019s clearly a militaristic implication. It\u2019s even more than an implication. And you know, nobody ever talks about the Third Amendment. Do you know what the Third Amendment says? <\/p>\n

Off the top of your head, does anybody know what the Third Amendment says? It\u2019s really fascinating to look at the Third Amendment. Of course, it comes right after the Second. That\u2019s simple math. The Third Amendment is the one that says no citizen can offer housing to a member of the United States military under certain circumstances. It is obvious if you read the Second Amendment in conjunction with the Third what the Second Amendment\u2019s all about, and it\u2019s not about hunting. <\/p>\n

Anyway, the Drive-Bys are just beside themselves, because they\u2019ve done everything they can in terms of wielding influence to discredit gun owners, gun buyers, gun manufacturers, gun sellers, gun users, and we still have between 270 million and 300 million guns in the country. And of course the Drive-Bys know that there really is no way that even Obama can issue an executive order and have everybody go pick their guns up and have them turned in. That won\u2019t fly. So, anyway, this big pro-gun rally on the Saturday before Obama\u2019s immaculation, they\u2019re gonna have a cow.<\/p>\n

Anyway, back to Iran. The Iranian foreign ministry seems to be endorsing Chuck Hagel as Obama\u2019s nominee for secretary of defense. I think it\u2019s kind of funny the kind of people who endorse Obama and his picks. We\u2019ve made mention of this over the course of the past four years. Look at the people that endorse Obama and speak positively. Look at the people who sound like Obama and Democrats when they talk about this country. There\u2019s Fidel Castro. There\u2019s Hugo Chavez, who may be, by the way, not very far from room temperature. <\/p>\n

Hugo Chavez has cancer. Hugo Chavez went to Cuba for treatment for his cancer. Made a political statement out of it trying to fulfill this notion that the best health care in the world is in Cuba and it\u2019s free. It\u2019s not the best. Even Castro imported a doctor from Spain. You know what was wrong with Castro when he was near death? Castro didn\u2019t want to wear a colostomy bag. Something happened and that was what he was faced with. He said nope. He told the doctor, (imitating Castro) “Look, just sew it up, just sew up my colon, sew it up. I\u2019m not wearing a colostomy bag.” <\/p>\n

It got infected very bad. They had to call in a doctor from Spain. Hugo Chavez could have gone any number of places in South America with better medical care than Cuba, but he went to Cuba to make a political statement, which is what leftists do, and it is said that he\u2019s in dire straits. Anyway, Hugo Chavez endorses Obama and what he does. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad — and he is Iran — and now he\u2019s applauding Chuck Hagel. Actually, when you think about it, maybe it isn\u2019t funny. But, I mean, these people when they\u2019re criticizing America, they sound just like your average Democrat does. <\/p>\n

By the way, it is said that Hagel would probably be an ideal pick if you are of the belief that the Iranians should be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. I mean, who are we to tell \u2019em that they can\u2019t? And people are basing that assessment of Hagel on not only his statements, but his votes as well. <\/p>\n

The Washington Post is reporting that Obama is going to set another precedent for his immaculation. Instead of having someone of the cloth deliver the benediction, a genuine religious person, Washington Post says that Obama has picked a layperson, Myrlie Evers-Williams, who is the widow of the slain civil rights leader Medgar Evers, which is no skin off my back. I couldn\u2019t care less. But it\u2019s got to really tick off Jeremiah Wright. I mean the elections are over now. There\u2019s no reason to pretend that Jeremiah Wright\u2019s not your best bud. There\u2019s no reason to pretend that that church is not yours. If you\u2019re gonna bring in somebody from the civil rights era, go ahead and get Reverend Wright. He doesn\u2019t have to hide him anymore. I don\u2019t know, just observations. <\/p>\n

The New York Times, ladies and gentlemen, has finally found an area where the federal government should cut spending. The New York Times, has finally, after an exhaustive search, found an area where the government is spending too much money. You know what it is? Enforcement of immigration law. The New York Times believes that we\u2019re spending way too much money enforcing immigration law. It\u2019s just too costly. The headline: “Huge Amounts Spent on Immigration, Study Finds — The Obama administration spent nearly $18 billion on immigration enforcement last year, significantly more than its spending on all the other major federal law enforcement agencies combined, according to a report published Monday by the Migration Policy Institute, a nonpartisan research group in Washington.”<\/p>\n

The Migration Policy Institute. What the heck is a Migration Policy Institute, and how in the world could it be nonpartisan? Anyway, they\u2019ve done an exhaustive nonpartisan study, and they\u2019ve found that we\u2019re spending way too much money enforcing immigration law. <\/p>\n

So the New York Times can finally say, “We\u2019re on board with cutting spending.” The Migration Policy Institute, obviously, is not a “nonpartisan research group.” It\u2019s a radical, open-borders organization, and it\u2019s bought and paid for by George Soros.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Folks, I have a major correction to make. I was totally misinformed, and there\u2019s a lesson there. There is not a gun rally on The Mall. Gun groups are not going to rally on The Mall. Instead what\u2019s being called for is a Gun Appreciation Day on the Saturday prior to Obama\u2019s inauguration. No gathering on the Mall. It\u2019s Gun Appreciation Day. Gun owners are being encouraged to turn it out “out en masse at gun stores, ranges and shows from coast to coast.” They want to be as public as they can in their support of guns on the Saturday prior to Obama\u2019s inauguration. I was misinformed when I was told that there was a rally on The Mall on the Saturday beforehand. They probably couldn\u2019t get a permit for that.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
