It\u2019s by Daniel Halper. “‘The president is going to act,\u2019 said Biden, giving some comments to the press before a meeting with victims of gun violence. ‘There are executives orders, there\u2019s executive action that can be taken. We haven\u2019t decided what that is yet.<\/p>\n

“‘But we\u2019re compiling it all with the help of the attorney general and the rest of the cabinet members as well as legislative action that we believe is required.\u2019 Biden said that this is a moral issue and that ‘it\u2019s critically important that we act.\u2019 Biden talked also about taking responsible action. ‘As the president said, if you\u2019re actions result in only saving one life, they\u2019re worth taking. But I\u2019m convinced we can affect the well-being of millions of Americans and take thousands of people out of harm\u2019s way if we act responsibly.'”<\/p>\n
So the vice president has put it on the table that the president is actively considering options with guns involving executive orders. Now, what, pray tell, could a bunch of liberal Democrats be thinking about doing with guns? I wonder what that would be. Maybe taking them away from people? I think so. I know enough liberal Democrats who have said that to me.<\/p>\n
They wish they had the power to take people\u2019s guns away. They\u2019ve advocated it. So when Biden, himself a liberal Democrat, says that himself and the president and cabinet with the attorney general — all a bunch of leftist Democrats — are talking about using executive orders… And when you say, “For what?” It could only be to take guns away from people. And who knew that an executive order could trump a constitutional amendment?<\/p>\n
You know, after they finish that, why don\u2019t they just issue an executive order outlawing abortion, if they really want to save lives?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Hi, folks, and welcome back. A thrill and a delight to have you here. El Rushbo, and I finally have admitted it: I had a New Year\u2019s resolution. I don\u2019t do those. I think New Year\u2019s resolutions are… Eh, they\u2019re fun, but they\u2019re just an exercise in frivolity. But I actually had one this year, and that is to adopt and assume a less-high profile, a lower profile, to actively try each and every day not to get noticed, which is directly opposite what most people are trying to do. And I\u2019m not succeeding. I thought I was until today. Evidence coming up.<\/p>\n
Speaking of Obama\u2019s upcoming gun grab, here is the vice president. I just shared with you the quote as published at the Weekly Standard, but here\u2019s the actual audio. This is at the White House. Vice President Bite Me held a gun violence task force meeting with “victim groups” and gun safety organizations. Victim groups! And this is what he said.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All right, now, when a bunch of liberals get together and start talking about guns — and include the possibility of executive orders, executive action that can be taken — what are they talking about? (interruption) Well, of course not involving Congress, but they\u2019re talking about taking guns away. What are they talking about here? Executive action to do what? Shore up the Second Amendment? I hardly think so. So that\u2019s what Bite Me\u2019s talking about. My only point is that.<\/p>\n
What could a bunch of liberal Democrats worried about guns, talking about using executive orders…? What could it possibly be about? A gun grab. Now, the Rasmussen Reports website has published a poll, and it finds that 74% of American adults (and this is a quote), “Continue to believe the US Constitution guarantees the right of an average citizen to own a gun.” Now, I don\u2019t know why Rasmussen worded it that way, and I\u2019m not sure that that\u2019s good news or bad news. I mean, you would hope that 100% of Americans know that they have that constitutional right.<\/p>\n
Seventy-four percent? Depending on your perspective, you could see that as good news or bad news. Seventy-four percent is much higher than 50%, and 74% is a majority, but it\u2019s meaningless if you have a president who\u2019s talking about using executive orders. If you have a president who thinks that executive orders are more powerful than an amendment to the Constitution — if you have a president who thinks that executive orders trump the Constitution — it don\u2019t really matter how many Americans “think” that the Constitution guarantees them the right to own a gun.<\/p>\n

But just in a raw sense, the fact that only 74% realize that? That can\u2019t be good news, and it has to be an indication of the lack of proper education in the country. This is not whether they agree with it or not. This is just a survey on whether or not they\u2019re permitted to have one. “Seventy-four percent continue to believe,” which is really weirdly worded, “that the Constitution guarantees [them] the right to own a gun.” That ought to be a hundred percent. What do you think the First Amendment would poll?<\/p>\n
“Seventy-four percent of the American people continue to believe the US Constitution gives them the right to free speech.” That would not be good, and I submit to you it\u2019s not good with the Second Amendment, either. Now, let\u2019s go back to 1995, shall we? Eric Holder, way back in 1995, was speaking at the Women\u2019s National Democratic Club. He was a US attorney back in 1995. That is a long time ago, folks. We\u2019re talking 17 years ago. Eric Holder is now the attorney general. Here\u2019s what he said 17, almost 18 years ago.<\/p>\n
HOLDER: What we need to do is change the way in which people think about guns, especially young people, and make it something that\u2019s not cool, that it\u2019s not acceptable. It\u2019s not hip to carry a gun anymore. Uh, in the way in which we\u2019ve changed our attitudes about cigarettes, we need to do this every day of the week and just really brainwash people into thinking about guns in a vastly different way.<\/p>\n
RUSH: Damn Second Amendment, damn it! Damn the NRA! Damn them!<\/p>\n
So we have to “really brainwash people,” just like we did with cigarettes. And that was very successful, by the way. That was so successful that people 200 feet away in a hermetically sealed apartment claim they can smell cigarette smoke in another hermetically sealed apartment 200 feet away. So brainwash the American people. That\u2019s 8 years ago. Here\u2019s Biden talking about the president, the cabinet, the czars, considering executive orders, executive action. So make no mistake: They are planning a gun grab.<\/p>\n
And I don\u2019t think that they have any qualms with us knowing that that\u2019s what they\u2019re thinking. Biden\u2019s not hiding it. It\u2019s all over the media. And, by the way, the media\u2019s all for it. There are many lessons people can learn about the left. One of the key lessons is they never give anything up. Once they begin a quest, they don\u2019t stop until they\u2019ve got it. The other thing that you need to learn is, they\u2019re never happy even after they succeed. They are never happy because there can never be enough to satisfy them. They can get everything they want, and it isn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n
They always want more.<\/p>\n
Now, I was sent a note here by an audience member from TheRightScoop.com: CNN exposes the hypocrisy of Dingy Harry on gun control. Apparently, “Obamacare Prohibits Feds From Collecting Any Info on Lawful Gun Owners ?– Thanks to Harry Reid.” Harry Reid apparently added a provision to Obamacare to protect gun owners from the federal government collecting information on them in order to keep the NRA off of his back and to woo Second Amendment voters in his state 2010 when he was running for reelection.<\/p>\n
So two years, three years ago, Dingy Harry was running for reelection. In order to keep the NRA off his back, he added a provision to Obamacare to protect gun owners from the Feds collecting information on them. And even in 2012, in the midst of the presidential elections, Reid did not want to talk about gun control after what happened in Aurora, Colorado. Now, fast-forward to today, and there\u2019s a CNN transcript I have here in which they\u2019re talking to Dingy Harry, and his staff says that his stance on gun control is “evolving,” that he\u2019s in a different place than he was in 2010.<\/p>\n
So obviously he\u2019s been reached. He got reelected in 2010, and he doesn\u2019t have to run for four more years. So now he can afford to change his mind. But as we sit here, there are restrictions in Obamacare that prohibit the Feds from collecting info on lawful gun owners, which would also include grabbing their guns. But we also know that that doesn\u2019t matter. There are immigration laws that Obama has simply overruled with executive orders and any number of statutes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
