RUSH: Little low-information news here. Monday night, Barbara Walters was on Nightline, and she interviewed the singer and American Idol judge Mariah Carey about the feud that she is having with Nicki Minaj. Here\u2019s how that went…<\/p>\n

WALTERS: She said that when Nicki walked off the set, multiple people heard Nicki say, “If I had a gun, I would shoot that F-ing bitch.” Did you take what she said se\u2019wious\u2019wy? (sic)<\/p>\n

CAREY: It felt like an unsafe work environment. Any time anybody\u2019s reeling (sic) threats at somebody, you know, that\u2019s just… It\u2019s not appropriate. I mean, I\u2019ve got two babies. I\u2019m not gonna take any chances. So, yeah, I did hire more security.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Do you believe this? Barbara Walters! She used to interview presidents. She once asked Jimmy Carter what kind of tree he would be. She used to do serious stuff! And I guess she still does. She had Mariah Carey on and is asking her about Nicki Minaj who said of Mariah Carey, quote, “If I had a gun I would shoot that F-ing bitch.” Barbara Walters actually said that on Nightline! And you heard Mariah Carey. She\u2019s scared to death. She had to go hire more security. Can you imagine Nightline viewers watching this? They had to be literally outraged at Nicki Minaj. That\u2019s after they get ticked off at the Republicans and Bush. Then they got really mad at Nicki Minaj. <\/p>\n

But Barbara Walters wasn\u2019t through talking about this with Mariah Carey.<\/p>\n

WALTERS: Nicki w\u2019ecently released a song. It\u2019s called “Hell, Yeah,” it\u2019s about American Idol, and she says, “I\u2019m quick to check a bitch if she is out of line.” Are you the bitch she\u2019s singing about?<\/p>\n

CAREY: Don\u2019t know. Don\u2019t know what she sang. I didn\u2019t know she sang. I thought she rapped or whatever.<\/p>\n

WALTERS: Do you think this fight is detracting from American Idol?<\/p>\n

CAREY: I think it\u2019s a classic, classy show, and it didn\u2019t need this. I really think it was just a crass moment.<\/p>\n
