RUSH: Good. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, Rush, I\u2019m 23 years old, and “hella dittos,” by the way. That\u2019s a Utah term: “Hella.”<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m calling because I play quite a bit of video games myself, but I personally think that that\u2019s just not the correct argument. I think the correct argument is that people go to the extremes while playing video games because their parents are letting them use their system as a babysitter opposed to doing decent parenting themselves and getting off the couch. That\u2019s what I think the correct argument is when they\u2019re blaming it on video games.<\/p>\n

<\/a><\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait. Say that again. It\u2019s not the video games themselves that\u2019s the problem, it\u2019s the parents?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I think it is to the extreme. It\u2019s the parents allowing the video games to babysit their children.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Those are the children that are on it eight and ten hours a day.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah. Basically they\u2019re a bunch of parents who wish they didn\u2019t have kids, who\u2019d rather have time to themselves. So, “Here, kid. Play the video game.” Anything that keeps the kid occupied is fine with them. Is that what you mean?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Sadly, yes. I do mean that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Sadly, that\u2019s exactly right. Yeah. See, even without kids I know exactly how they feel.<\/p>\n

CALLER: They\u2019re distracted every time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. So you\u2019re a gamer?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I am. I do enjoy video games, yes. But I\u2019m also a Rush listener.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you have never been…? Have you ever played a video game and said, “You know what? This looks like fun. I think I\u2019m gonna go fire my gun into a crowd of people.”<\/p>\n

CALLER: Not a single time.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Not a single time.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I honestly say that.<\/p>\n
