CALLER: Hey, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well, sir. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, thanks for taking my call. I called in because I heard a moment of brilliance when you zeroed in on the ruling elite of both parties, and —<\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that, sir. Since the topic of the day is Mrs. Clinton\u2019s brilliance, I\u2019m happy to be so recognized by you. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I want to make a connection, and I know you\u2019re an intellectual guy, so I\u2019ll try to make this brief. But the theory I have is simply that the ruling elite politically is just a natural extension of what\u2019s happened since the Industrial Revolution and the concentration of wealth in this country. And that, as a people, what we have to do to safeguard our country is to try to spread power without disregarding the benefits of having a ruling elite.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All we need to do is get back to the Constitution. It\u2019s really not complicated. It\u2019s gonna be very hard to do, but really all we need to do is get back to the Constitution. The Constitution was written expressly so that a ruling elite, be it because of class or wealth or birthright, would not occur. This was a government that was formed that was severely limited. The Constitution is filled with limits on the government, not on the people, not on the citizens. And, of course, we\u2019re now living through a 180 on that, where the limits on freedom are on citizens and the expansion of power and the ruling elite, the people that are in it, is in government, in Washington, DC.<\/line><\/p>\n

A lot of people, when you say “the concentration of wealth.” “Well, members of Congress aren\u2019t wealthy, and they\u2019re part of the ruling elite.” I know what you mean. The concentration of power really, but there is a ruling class. There is a ruling class made up of the political class and the political elite, and they circle the wagons for each other and party affiliation doesn\u2019t matter when the ruling class is under assault. And when it comes to hearings on what happened at our consulate in Benghazi, the ruling class, their ability to do their jobs, the ruling class\u2019s ability to govern, their ability to do their jobs, that\u2019s come into question here, personified by Mrs. Clinton\u2019s rampant incompetence.<\/p>\n

So what happens? The ruling class gets together, they do their hearing and the express purpose here is to try to tell every citizen, insult every citizen\u2019s intelligence by saying, “You\u2019re the ones that don\u2019t get it. You don\u2019t understand. Mrs. Clinton\u2019s the smartest secretary of state we\u2019ve ever had. Her qualifications are unparalleled, and none of you could do her job.” This is all about protecting the reputation of everybody in the ruling class. They have to do it, they have to come out and defend Hillary, protect her in order to protect themselves. But if you just get back to the Constitution, then this can be dealt with and reversed. As I say, it\u2019s a simple solution, but it is very difficult to pull off. ‘Cause the ruling class is the power elite, and they\u2019re just not gonna give it up on their own.<\/line><\/p>\n
