RUSH: Folks, what is paramount and obvious to me is here\u2019s Obama, and he gets back from his vacation, and immediately — with no provocation, by the way. There isn\u2019t anybody outside of Jeff Sessions, maybe, hitting Obama. But Jeff Sessions isn\u2019t really, either. There was nobody on the Republican side trying to pick a fight with Obama. Nobody\u2019s insulting him. Nobody on the Republican side is doing anything other than mild — mild, even by political standards — criticism.<\/p>\n

But Obama is acting like everybody on the Republican side is insulting his mother, his wife, his kids, and him — and this isn\u2019t happening. He\u2019s not being insulted. He\u2019s not being mistreated. He\u2019s not being disrespected. Yet he\u2019s lashing out! I\u2019m telling you, he doesn\u2019t have the courage to lead. That\u2019s how it appears to me. He doesn\u2019t have the courage, because I don\u2019t think he thinks he needs to lead.<\/p>\n

He is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams, and at the same time he is accomplishing one of the primary objectives that he\u2019s had as a politician since he got into the business, and that is eliminating all opposition. He\u2019s not interested in compromise. He says he\u2019s sitting there, his door\u2019s open, and he\u2019s waiting for the phone to ring. The Republicans say they\u2019re hoping the president calls! “GOP Senators Waiting for President Obama\u2019s Outreach.”<\/line><\/p>\n

He\u2019s not gonna reach out to them. He\u2019s in the process of destroying them! This episode today at the Old Executive Office Building\/Eisenhower Executive Office Building is stunning to me, when you get right down to it. I mean, it\u2019s who Obama is, but without any provocation… If I didn\u2019t know better, I would think this three-day vacation of his was miserable and he\u2019s ticked off. He\u2019s come back and he\u2019s in a foul humor because he has lashed out at these humor Republicans.<\/p>\n

They haven\u2019t done anything to him. They\u2019ve practically been as nice to him as they know how to be. Yet you heard the demonization. This isn\u2019t just criticism. He is impugning their honor, their integrity, their character, their reputations. He\u2019s now gone further than saying Mitt Romney didn\u2019t care that some guy\u2019s wife got cancer. Obama today said the entire Republican Party doesn\u2019t care if you get cancer! During the campaign, there were ads that Obama ran that Romney didn\u2019t care if some guy\u2019s wife got cancer at a business that Bain Capital once ran.<\/p>\n

But today, Obama went out and said Republicans don\u2019t care if every one of you get cancer. Here. I want to replay this first sound bite. This is what I\u2019m talking about in case you missed this — and if you did hear it, I want to hear it again. Because it\u2019s about the sequester. It\u2019s about how this country is about to implode. And, by the way, everything he talks about here will happen if his policies are not stopped. All of this is gonna happen.<\/p>\n

But his characterization of the Republicans here is libelous, and were it not for this being in politics, he would have to pay a huge price for this. I mean, this is slanderous, it\u2019s libelous, and it is certainly not helpful. It\u2019s not bipartisan. It\u2019s not reaching out. There is no reason a person with any self-respect would respond to this at all after being characterized this way. I mean, this is not insignificant.<\/p>\n
