RUSH: Yesterday morning in Washington, House of Representatives, the House Science, Space and Technology subcommittee hearing on the possibility of another asteroid colliding with the earth. The House committee hearing on another asteroid hitting the earth? These people can\u2019t do anything right. What do you mean, the House committee? We have to turn to the House committee to know what to do if an asteroid\u2019s coming? Anyway, Bill Posey, a Republican from Florida, is talking to the NASA administrator, Charles Bolden. He said, “What would we do if you detected even a small asteroid like the one that detonated in Russia, that was headed for New York in three weeks? What would you do? What would we do? What could anybody do?”<\/p>\n

BOLDEN: The bottom line, as always, the funding did not come.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, jeez.<\/p>\n

BOLDEN: And so the answer to you is, if it\u2019s coming in three weeks, pray. If we find that out right now — and that\u2019s not bad…<\/p>\n

POSEY: That\u2019s reality.<\/p>\n

BOLDEN: That\u2019s not bad policy. I am a practicing Episcopalian and I love what the Pope\u2019s doing right now. I\u00c2\u2019ll tell you. Things have happened. You got to pray. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s it. We gotta pray because they don\u2019t have the funding. (laughing) Pray? Don\u2019t have the funding? By the way, I have decided, I saw something on TV today that has made me rethink the Limbaugh Theorem. Andy Card was on Fox News this morning. He was being interviewed by Martha MacCallum. And she asked him a great question that he just blew right by. The essence of her question was, “Okay, we believe in smaller government.” Well, she didn\u2019t say we, but, “for people who believe in smaller government, you Republicans, that\u2019s going to mean that people\u2019s benefits get cut. How are you going to explain that to them?” He just blew right by it and started talking. <\/p>\n

His whole theme throughout this interview was how the Republican Party is exclusionary and it doesn\u2019t have a prayer if it doesn\u2019t become inclusive. And I sat there and I looked at that, and I said, “Well, who are they excluding? And who\u2019s running this party? Who has been running this party?” Ain\u2019t us, folks. Who\u2019s been running the Republican Party? It\u2019s not the conservatives. So I thought, sitting there, the Limbaugh Theorem may have to be expanded to include some Republicans as well. I\u2019ll explain that as the program unfolds before your very eyes and ears. <\/p>\n

Now, let\u2019s move on to Bernie Marcus. Bernie Marcus is one of the co-founders of Home Depot. He was on yesterday with Neil Cavuto on Fox. Cavuto said, “There was a front page story about how tax cuts aren\u2019t beneficial.” He didn\u2019t say what newspaper, but he\u2019s asking Bernie Marcus, “What do you make of this?” <\/p>\n

“There was a front page story about how tax cuts aren\u2019t beneficial. In fact, you get more bang for the buck with tax hikes,” this newspaper story said. “The whole world is upside-down but that speaks of an age in which we deny base economic principles and favor continuing big government.” I don\u2019t know what newspaper it was. It had to be the New York Times or the Washington Post, one of the two. Tax increases are what make things work. Tax cuts are not beneficial at all. Here is Bernie Marcus\u2019s reply, cofounder, Home Depot.<\/p>\n

MARCUS: I think that the American people haven\u00c2\u2019t awakened and I think that they haven\u00c2\u2019t understood. Look, when January 1st came around I spoke with a lot of business people. Speaking to small businesses, they all tell me the same thing. When January 1st came around and that first week of paychecks came in, and they got the benefit — this benefit of having less money in their payrolls because of the tax increase, you know who they blame? They blame the employer. Nobody blamed the administration. <\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Stop and think of that. Here we were, folks, go back to the latter part of the year. Go back to the last two weeks of December, even the whole month of December, and we\u2019re all waiting for an event. Something that is going to awaken the American people. Something that is going to open their eyes to the truth of Obama and his regime. We\u2019ve explained it until we\u2019re blue in the face. We\u2019ve tried everything we could think. We\u2019ve used every word there is. We\u2019ve tried every persuasive tactic that we know. We\u2019ve tried honesty. We\u2019ve tried cajoling. We\u2019ve tried anecdotes. We\u2019ve tried illustrations. We\u2019ve done everything we can except, I should say, an effective TV ad campaign. But other than that we\u2019ve done everything. <\/p>\n

Waiting for this seminal event, something that\u2019s going to awaken the American people so they realize what\u2019s happening, this is an offshoot of the Limbaugh Theorem. Obama does not attach to anything bad happening in the country. His policies are universally opposed by people, but his policies are not deemed to have any effect on what\u2019s happening in the country as far as low-information voters are concerned. It\u2019s the most amazing thing, even to this day I\u2019m still amazed by it. The American people, en masse, think the country\u2019s headed in the wrong direction. They don\u2019t like Obama\u2019s policies but they love him, although his approval numbers are plummeting. Well, I wouldn\u2019t say plummeting yet, but he\u2019s under 50% in more than one poll, that\u2019s right. He\u2019s 47% in the Gallup poll, disapproval at 50. <\/p>\n

So his approval numbers are coming down, but they weren\u2019t in December. So we\u2019re sitting around, “Okay, we\u2019ve tried everything.” And people think, “Okay, wait \u2019til the payroll tax holiday ends and the first paychecks that people get in January, they\u2019re gonna see their take-home pay go down, and then they\u2019re gonna know.” What Bernie Marcus just said is that he talked to some of his business buddies, and they told him that employees are blaming the companies, not the government. Employees are blaming the employer for their take-home pay being reduced. How does that happen? When did it ever start? I have never, ever in my entire working life assumed that my employer had anything to do with the deductions in my paycheck. I\u2019ve always known what taxes are. I\u2019ve always known what the payroll tax is and how much it is. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve always known this. From when I was making a dollar and a quarter an hour when I was 16, I\u2019ve known this. How does this happen? So I\u2019m telling you, folks, we\u2019re dealing in a genuine low-information universe. It\u2019s perhaps worse than we even know. I was talking to a friend about this event this morning, and I came to a conclusion. I\u2019ve mentioned on this program a number of times that we\u2019ve exhausted all of our persuasive attempts, other than a concerted TV ad campaign.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ve exhausted every bit of persuasive talent that we have. We own talk radio, and Fox News for the most part. We\u2019ve done everything we can, and yet no impact. So we\u2019ve all been waiting for an event. And when I\u2019ve said this, people have assumed I meant a hurricane or a tornado, some sort of natural disaster, a God event. No, no, no. I don\u2019t mean that. I\u2019m talking about “event” in politics. Let me tell you what I think it\u2019s gonna be. It\u2019ll be something that will wake people up about Obama.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t gonna be anything serious. It isn\u2019t gonna be anything substantive. Something like this is gonna happen: Obama is gonna be talking to somebody on open mike, and he\u2019s gonna diss Justin Timberlake\u2019s latest CD, and the country is gonna get outraged, and they\u2019ll turn on Obama. See, it\u2019s gonna be something like that, or he\u2019ll diss Beyonce. By the way, there are a lot of people dissing Beyonce. Have you heard about Beyonce? Have you heard what Beyonce did? Let me give you a little history on Beyonce.<\/p>\n

Beyonce used to be the lead for a three-girl group called Destiny\u2019s Child, and their songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men. Right, Mr. Snerdley? Essentially don\u2019t take any grief. Don\u2019t let these guys walk over you. Don\u2019t do this; don\u2019t do that. Walk away! You don\u2019t need to put up with that. She\u2019s done take 180. Beyonce, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy, is going out on a new tour and they may as well call it “the Bow Down, B-i-itch Tour.”<\/p>\n

She\u2019s got a new song. Can I say it? It\u2019s on the popular charts. “Bow Down, Bitches” is the new tune. A total 180. Beyonce\u2019s now saying, “Go ahead and put up with it,” and you know why? I\u2019ll tell you why. Because she got married. She\u2019s married to the rich guy. She\u2019s even calling herself “Mrs. Carter” on the tour. She has shelved “Beyonce.” She\u2019s no longer being called that. She\u2019s gonna call herself “Mrs. Carter” on the Bow Down, Bitches Tour. That\u2019s the title of the single that\u2019s fronting the tour.<\/p>\n

The advice to these women is, “Go ahead and put up with it. Put up with it now. Bow down, b-i-itches,” because why? She got married. She married the rich guy and she now understands. She now understands it\u2019s worth it to bow down, and so now she\u2019s passing on this advice. There\u2019s a big story about this in the UK Telegraph, a major story on…? Not Obama\u2019s trip to Israel. It\u2019s a major story about Beyonce\u2019s tour and what it\u2019s called and how she\u2019s Mrs. Carter and how she\u2019s now advising women to put up with it.<\/line><\/p>\n

When you find the right guy, you put up with it, bow down, and the story in the UK Telegraph is written by an angry woman who feels betrayed by Beyonce. This woman is not gonna bow down. The woman who wrote this piece is not gonna do it. I have it here. I have so many stacks of stuff that if I get everything in this program, this is gonna be one for the ages. I\u2019ve got 15 stacks here. I don\u2019t know where I put it. Right here.<\/p>\n

Ah! Ah! Here it is. It\u2019s by Felicity Capon: “Beyonce\u2019s new single, Bow Down, marks a change in direction for the independent woman the US president handpicks to play at his parties. Felicity Capon explains why the lyrics leave a bitter taste.” It\u2019s a huge story. So I\u2019m telling you: The thing that\u2019s gonna shake this country up is gonna be Obama on an open mike dissing Timberlake\u2019s latest CD or his latest fashion line, or maybe saying something negative about Beyonce.
