You ever seen that show? It\u2019s Sunday nights on CBS. We do watch The Good Wife, and I have it set to record every night at nine o\u2019clock. So I checked it last night just to make sure that it was recorded. I also get it off Apple TV the next day, off iTunes.<\/p>\n<p>But I just wanted to make sure it recorded, because half the time in the football season it doesn\u2019t. CBS has a late game, the late game goes long, and everything in the primetime schedule is delayed. But the DVR schedule is not delayed to accommodate it. I forgot that the NCAA Basketball Tournament was on and that CBS has that, so I turned it on and The Amazing Race was at nine o\u2019clock on my DVR and not The Good Wife. So it took about two seconds for me to figure out what happened.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_74428\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazing-Race.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>The basketball game ran long and everything else was delayed, but the DVR schedule at DirecTV wasn\u2019t changed to accommodate it. I had never watched The Amazing Race but I did fast-forward and see about 30 minutes of it at four-times normal speed just to find where in my one-hour recording The Good Wife began, where it started. I just wanted to make sure it got recorded. I didn\u2019t see anything. I never watched the show. Well, I get up today and CBS apologized for last night\u2019s episode of The Amazing Race.<\/p>\n<p>Do you know why?<\/p>\n<p>Well, they used the wreck of a B-52 shot down by the North Vietnamese as one of the obstacles in The Amazing Race, in North Vietnam. The Amazing Race was in Vietnam, and they used a shot-down fuselage, wreckage of a B-52, as one of their obstacles. Apparently there was hell to pay with e-mails, \u2019cause they apologized. Or maybe they even apologized during the show with a crawl on the screen. I\u2019m not sure which. But who cares about that either?<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gm0zSeLxtuY\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>&#8220;The Vietnam War, didn\u2019t we deserve to lose that? Didn\u2019t we deserve to get our butts kicked on that? We had no business being over there anyway. So a B-52 got shot down. Big whoop! Who cares about veterans these days anyway?&#8221; To the current low-information crowd, the US military is the focus of evil in the modern world. So, we got our just desserts in Vietnam. So what if The Amazing Race used a B-52? The fact of the matter is, and the real interesting point here is, that whoever produces that show and whoever writes it didn\u2019t think a thing about it, folks.<\/p>\n<p>They didn\u2019t think a thing about it other than, &#8220;Oh, look! It\u2019s the wreck of a B-52 from the Vietnam War! That would be a great visual for our show.&#8221; And they used it. It was not until they heard some protests from their audience that they apologized. Can you imagine the producer? &#8220;W-w-what did we do wrong? It\u2019s just a B-52.&#8221; (sigh) Do you realize you might be insulting veterans that served? &#8220;Oh. Oh, yeah. Screw them! Who cares? It\u2019s our show now!&#8221; But they did apologize nevertheless.<\/p>\n<p>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Let me grab Teresa in Harrisburg. She wants to correct me on something. Teresa in Harrisburg, we\u2019ll take her first. Teresa, thanks for the call. It\u2019s great to have you on the EIB Network. Hello.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Hello, sir. I\u2019m not correcting. Never, never correct the master. I\u2019m just expanding on him, okay?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Okay.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: The problem is this: The show wasn\u2019t aired yesterday. It was aired last week.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Which show? What are we talking about?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: The Amazing Race.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: The Amazing Race, the B-52 episode?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: It\u2019s just a rock group.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: (laughing)<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_74433\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/Amazing-Race.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Most people think, &#8220;Well, the B-52s? What did they apologize for?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Okay. I\u2019ve been trying to reach you for a week to tell you what the problem was. So it wasn\u2019t yesterday; it was the week before.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: All right. Well, I didn\u2019t see it last night. I just heard about the apology today. I just assumed it was last night. So I stand to be corrected now.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: No, they had a whole week to apologize, and they were just looking for going under the radar and investigating how many people were going to really get upset about this.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: But the problem was that, prior to that, the participants of the show had to listen to a tune put on by the youth communist group or whatever, praising the virtues of communism. You see the participants clapping, laughing. I mean, these are the Americans, not the Vietnamese. The Vietnamese were singing the song.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: The Americans are clapping, laughing, having a ball. At the end of the song, they put a communist slogan on the flash card, and then the participants had to go back to a mural and pick out the right slogan from a whole bunch of other communist slogans plastered there. Now, I was a teacher before I retired, and, believe me: This is the way you start teaching communism indirectly and how wonderful it is and how great.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Exactly. Communism is fun! Look what happens with communism.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Mmm-hmm.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You can be on TV!<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_74442\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/amazing-race-3.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You can be sent to Vietnam and you can be on TV, and you can win prizes, and all you have to do is find the greatest communist slogans and accompanying pictures!<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Then, when you finish, we\u2019ll go have a barbecue at a crashed B-52.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Uh-huh. Exactly. And it was funny because&#8230; Well, not funny. But, I mean, you know, adding salt to the wound, it was a &#8220;U-turn&#8221; at the B-52. A U-turn is when you do something bad to somebody.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: So they were kind of putting, you know, the screws on, if you pardon the French.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Right, right. It was the B-52\u2019s fault.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Uh-huh. Exactly.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, let me tell you something, Teresa. As a school teacher, I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll agree and you\u2019ll know exactly what I\u2019m referring to here.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Well, I\u2019m ashamed to say it with what\u2019s going on now. But that\u2019s the reason I retired. I took early retirement, sir, because I would not do the kind of nonsense that is being done with education now.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I totally understand, but let me tell you something. This episode of The Amazing Race &#8212; which was last week, not last night, that we\u2019re talking about.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What happened on that show is nothing different than what our current secretary of state once did.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: And Jane Fonda once did.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I mean, Jane Fonda went over and pretended to shoot down an American fighter plane, and John Kerry went over there and he celebrated the communists. He came back here, and he ripped his own country, and he threw fake versions of his own metals over the White House fence.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Uh-huh. Yup. That\u2019s right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So CBS having the contestants of this show run around and sing praises to and clap hands for a bunch of communists is no different than what members of this administration have done in their young lives.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes. Unfortunately you\u2019re right, yes.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_74441\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/amazing-race-2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I usually am.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: But where\u2019s the end? Where\u2019s the end? When are we gonna stop this? I mean, how much more are we going have rammed down our throats, you know? This is ridiculous.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, let me ask you a question. What are you actually asking? Seriously, how much more of this is gonna go on?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I\u2019m asking people to&#8230; I mean, they would never dare to do this, you know, if instead of a B-52 we would have gone and put up Salman Rushdie\u2019s Satanic Verses or something.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: You are asking a larger question. When you say, &#8220;How much longer are we gonna have to put up with this,&#8221; what you\u2019re asking is: When are the American people gonna wake up?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Wake up, exactly!<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: What happened here? Well, that is something we have been discussing, and I have offered a theorem about that. That theorem, by the way, has been confirmed by a political consultant. Actually, no. Not a political consultant. A political scientist, Stu Rothenberg, talked to a Republican about this very thing. And this Republican told Stu Rothenberg, &#8220;You know what? We\u2019re beyond the point now of being able to change people\u2019s minds,&#8221; meaning the Republicans.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There\u2019s nothing we can do. We\u2019re just have sit around and wait for something to happen, an event,&#8221; and he means the same thing I meant when I first said this. Not a cataclysmic weather event or act of God kind of event, but rather something that embarrasses and angers people about Obama or the Democrats. I know people say, &#8220;Well, if what they\u2019re doing now doesn\u2019t anger them, what\u2019s it gonna take? What\u2019s it gonna be?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Like I said last week, it\u2019s gonna be something like Obama speaking on an open mike when he\u2019s not aware people can hear him. He\u2019s gonna diss Justin Timberlake\u2019s latest CD or something like that and he\u2019s gonna really tick off all these low-information people and they\u2019re gonna have had it, and they\u2019re gonna think that Obama has betrayed \u2019em. It\u2019s gonna be something silly. It could be something profound in politics that goes wrong that wakes people up, but nothing that\u2019s happening so far is, on the low-information side.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, Teresa, I appreciate the call, I really do.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>RUSH: I never watched this show The Amazing Race.
