RUSH: Now, earlier in the program, I spoke about Mrs. Clinton. She has been given a $14 million advance to write a book (ah, it\u2019ll be ghostwritten) on her years as secretary of state. I think the title ought to be What Difference Did I Make?” Because if you go around the world, everywhere she\u2019s gone as secretary of state is a disaster. Benghazi, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, North Korea, Syria, Latin-American countries. What is there to write home about about US foreign policy?<\/p>\n

We don\u2019t stand for freedom around the world. We don\u2019t look at ourselves any longer, not this regime, anyway, as the defenders of the freedom around the world. That\u2019s not at all what we\u2019re about. Mrs. Clinton, I have never drank the Kool-Aid. Ever since the Clintons first came on the scene, we were told that Mrs. Clinton is the Smartest Woman in the World. “Smartest Woman in the World!” In truth, pretty much everything that she\u2019s done has been a failure in one way or another, even aspects of her husband\u2019s campaign and administration that she was in charge of.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve explained to you why Hillary occupies this lofty perch in the Democrat Party, and I\u2019ll go through it again for you very quickly. You gotta go back to Hillary and Bill\u2019s Ivy League days, when they met in young love and bliss. (Ahem.) Hillary was a student at Wellesley, and Clinton was at Yale, and then she ended up at Yale — and somehow, they were drawn to one another. Somehow. They fell in love, and while this was going on, people who knew Bill Clinton said, “He\u2019s gonna be president someday. This guy is gonna go all the way!”<\/p>\n

They said of Mrs. Clinton, “She could write her ticket. This woman has it all!”<\/p>\n

Remember, now, this is the early days of modern feminism. I mean, this was the day where you didn\u2019t tie yourself down to a relationship. You didn\u2019t get married. You just went full bore into changing the world, full bore into the career, whatever it was. But Hillary sacrificed all of that. Mrs. Clinton abandoned her own dreams and instead she decided to marry Bill Clinton, tie herself to him, and then take over wherever he ended up. Allowing her relationship to be responsible for where she ended up. Her marriage determined where she ended up. Not her independence. Not her own career. She decided to subordinate all of that to Bill Clinton\u2019s career. <\/p>\n

And then the ultimate sacrifice. <\/p>\n

This woman of the Ivy League moved to the swamps, the sticks, Arkansas. Mrs. Clinton essentially cast herself in a movie, in a place like where Deliverance was filmed, and she went there while her husband earned $25,000 a year as a governor and was having all the fun times with Gennifer Flowers and whoever else, while she went to work at the Rose Law Firm and earned all the money for the family to live on. And she stood there, and she sat there, and she endured all of that humiliation, all to make sure that his career was not derailed, because if his career was derailed, so was hers. <\/p>\n

Then he gets to Washington and the same stuff happens. He\u2019s still catting around. She still hangs in. She defends him. She does everything she can to maintain his presidency. They gave her health care to run as a partial price. They had tried getting rich quick in Whitewater. They tried any number of things to be big people. She gave up everything, this is the way the left looks at it. She could have been her own person. She could have had her own career. She didn\u2019t need to tie herself to Bill Clinton, and look what happened because she did. Arkansas. Arkansas! May as well have gone to Mississippi, Alabama. Arkansas! Eww! And stayed there. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So 2008 was to be her grand payback, the nomination for presidency in the Democrat Party. It was hers. Except it wasn\u2019t, because out of nowhere came a young senator, who was said to be better at what he did than anybody. Better than Bill Clinton. Better than Hillary Clinton. Better than the Kennedys. Better than anybody. His name was “Barack Hussein Obama! Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!” And he decided he wanted to be president, and he didn\u2019t care what Hillary had been promised. He didn\u2019t care what the Democrat Party had guaranteed her. He didn\u2019t care that it was her payback for enduring all of those years subordinating her life to her husband\u2019s. And when push came to shove, the Democrat Party chose the young black guy who had never done anything. And once again Mrs. Clinton was rejected and cast aside. <\/p>\n

After all she had done, she had saved her president\u2019s career countless times. She had made her own career, carved out her own life with her own successes, while saving his. And they still dumped on her. Her campaign for president left her horribly in debt. She owed Obama. Obama wanted her to be secretary of state. Who knows if she really wanted to do it, but she had no choice if she wanted to pay back her campaign debt. So she did it, and there\u2019s nothing really to write home about it except they are gonna write home about it in a book called What Difference Did I Make? Well, that won\u2019t be the title. That\u2019s just my suggested title. <\/p>\n

And now, ladies and gentlemen, the media, the Democrat Party is abuzz — bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz bzz — with Mrs. Clinton for president in 2016. Finally she\u2019s going to get what was hers since the eighties. What has been hers since she moved to Arkansas and what has been denied her since she moved to Arkansas, finally 2016. They\u2019re all talking about it now. And the odds are that some young whippersnapper is gonna pop up between now and 2016 that will move her off of center stage, but until that happens, everybody is now on board with Mrs. Clinton as the next Democrat nominee and thus the next president of the United States, which sets up the sound bites which are coming up next.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let\u2019s go back, December 17th, 2007, on this program, because this sets up what comes next.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: Everybody\u2019s trying to make themselves look different, and in that situation, that case, they think they\u2019re making themselves look better. It\u2019s just the way our culture has evolved. It\u2019s the way the country is. It\u2019s almost an addiction that some people have to what I call the perfection that Hollywood presents of successful, beautiful, fun-loving people. So the question is this. Will this country want to actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: And I was discussing Mrs. Clinton there, and it\u2019s 2007. It\u2019s her upcoming presidential campaign. It was a sympathetic statement, by the way. I was talking about the obsession that our culture has with youth and model-like, waif-thin beauty, which everybody knows exists. The thigh gap, have you heard of the thigh gap<\/a>? That\u2019s the latest rage among young girls. That\u2019s when young girls are standing either nude or in a bikini with their knees together, there is a gap between the thighs in the upper regions. It is highly desired. Mrs. Clinton obviously does not have that. Very few women do. But it is what people are shooting for. <\/p>\n

Will the American people want to vote for somebody, a woman, and actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis? I was asking this in straight up political analysis. Now, understandably this caused a tornado in the Drive-By Media. The next day and the day after the media literally had a fit, because even though my question was asked in a sympathetic way, the whole monologue — I don\u2019t have time to play the whole thing — was delivered in a sympathetic way to middle-aged and older women. The media nevertheless went batty, and I\u2019ll play that coming up. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. After asking the question, after a sympathetic question — you have to trust me on this — and those of you who were listening back in 2007 remember. I can\u2019t believe it\u2019s six years ago, but nevertheless I delivered a sympathetic monologue. Mrs. Clinton, presidential aspirations, does the country want to watch, given the preoccupation with looking perfect on the tube, the sympathetic aspects of my monologue totally missed. They heard only, in the media, an insult to Mrs. Clinton. Here\u2019s just a sample, December 18th and 19th of 2007, of the media outrage.<\/p>\n

DAN ABRAMS: Rush Limbaugh put it, ‘Will the country want to actually watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?\u2019<\/p>\n

JULIE CHEN: Sexism hits the campaign trail as Rush Limbaugh asks if voters want to stare at an aging woman as president.<\/p>\n

MEG OLIVER: A story that\u2019s expected to reverberate throughout the day, the question of sexism in politics.<\/p>\n

DAVID SHUSTER: The stuff that Rush Limbaugh has been saying is totally over the line and sort of generating some sympathy.<\/p>\n

DAVID CORN: Rush Limbaugh is not the arbiter of what\u2019s good taste or what American opinions or morals should be.<\/p>\n

STEPHANIE MILLER: Please, this is so sexist. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: And of course it was so dumb, ignorant, and shortsighted of all of those people who never even endeavored to find out what I was actually saying, and that I had delivered a sympathetic monologue. Remember, it was I, on this program, I came up with Operation Chaos to try to save her candidacy in 2008. Anyway, last night, lo and behold, on CNN, Erin Burnett OutFront, talking with a Democrat strategerist Kiki McLean. I think it used to be Kiki Moore. Kiki got married to somebody named McLean. They were talking about Hillary running for president again because that is the Democrat Party theme. We\u2019re finally gonna let Hillary have it. So they\u2019re talking about this, and Erin Burnett brought this up in a shocking way.<\/p>\n

BURNETT: What about what Rush Limbaugh said that made a lot of people really mad? But you know what? It made them mad because at the time he said it, it was probably true. Here\u2019s what he said.<\/p>\n

RUSH ARCHIVE: Will Americans want to watch a woman get older before their eyes on a daily basis?<\/p>\n

BURNETT: That\u2019s what he said of Hillary Clinton, Kiki, back in 2007.<\/p>\n

MCLEAN: It\u00c2\u2019s just not…<\/p>\n

BURNETT: And you know what, there was truth in that. Has that changed?<\/p>\n

RUSH: She\u2019s saying that the reason people got mad is because there was truth in it. It was a legitimate question, and she\u2019s asking Kiki McLean, Democrat strategerist, if that has changed. And so here\u2019s what Kiki McLean had to say.<\/line><\/p>\n

MCLEAN: There will always be people who care more about what\u2019s on the skin than what\u2019s in the brain. But the reality is most Americans are gonna pick who serves them based on what they believe they can do for them and the kind of leader they can be. And I think if we spend all our time thinking about how someone\u2019s hair looks, what the hem on somebody\u2019s skirt may or may not be, that doesn\u2019t really get to the issues.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This from a woman representing a party that doesn\u2019t see anything but the skin, and its color, and doesn\u2019t see anything but the gender, and then its orientation. This from a party which has to acknowledge that one of the reasons Obama was elected was because he\u2019s black and a lot of white people thought they could erase racism forever from the American existence by showing they weren\u2019t racist anymore by voting for a black guy. Kiki McLean actually wants to talk about there will be people who care more about what\u2019s on the skin than what\u2019s in the brain? She\u2019s just defining her party.<\/line>Carol in San Francisco. Great to have you on the program. Thank you for waiting. Hi.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi. How are you today. I guess we\u2019re getting to the end of the program, and Snerdley told me to stay focused so I\u2019m gonna stay focused. Hillary Clinton, go ahead and run her, guaranteed she will not win if the Republican or the conservative candidate, hopefully conservative Republican, will get up there and just say, “Failure, failure, failure, failure, failure.” She\u2019s an absolute failure. And she\u2019s an old absolute failure. Their bench is so shallow that they\u2019re gonna go back to Hillary Clinton from the nineties, and all she has done is buy elections.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They\u2019re not going back to her because of what she\u2019s done. They\u2019re going back to her because of guilt. They aced her out. They aced her out in 2008, and they\u2019ve gotta make good on it. Again, I don\u2019t accept the conventional wisdom that she\u2019s automatically the nominee. What if Bite Me wants it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Well, that\u2019s a joke. The reality of it is, if Bite Me runs, he\u2019s gonna lose, too. He\u2019s too old. She is too old. The people in this country — first of all, the blacks will not vote for her, they will not come out. They only vote, and — (crosstalk)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you know, it —<\/p>\n

CALLER: They will not get the blame. You know something? It\u2019s turning, Rush. It is turning. You can get a hundred conservative women up there, and they\u2019ll just point success, success, success, success. You get Hillary Clinton up there, and if they have the balls, it will be Benghazi, it will be Iran —<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, but, see, that\u2019s the question, Carol. That\u2019s the question, are they gonna have the balls? Or is our candidate gonna talk about how much respect he has for Mrs. Clinton and how great her contributions are. Is it gonna be another minority candidate, can\u2019t hit the girl, we can\u2019t attack Obama \u2019cause he\u2019s black. We can\u2019t attack Hillary \u2019cause she\u2019s a girl, so once again, we gotta pull our punches.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If they tie their tongues, well, then you get what you buy. But I gotta tell you. There are a lot of people out there that are not tying their tongues, Rush. There are a lot of people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I understand that, but how many of them are running for office, Carol? That\u2019s the point.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, their bench is very shallow. I believe their bench is very shallow.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What about ours?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Our bench is not shallow, Rush. It is deep. Now, 2014\u2019s gonna be very interesting. The potential there, hopefully for the Senate, and we are working hard. But I want to stay focused on Hillary. I was told to stay focused on Hillary.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you can call back tomorrow if you want to be unfocused and we can put you at the beginning of the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: (giggles) I gotta tell you, you look at it, though.<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing)<\/p>\n

CALLER: The world is just going down the crapper, and a lot of it is at the State Department. The State Department! The 25-year-old who died in Afghanistan! The State Department, she was part of it. The statement has been blowing up. She was a 25-year-old out of John Hopkins. I think it was Johns Hopkins, yeah.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Who are we talking about now?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, we\u2019re talking about State Department. Hillary ran the State Department. She\u2019s gone, but where are the men from Benghazi?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, oh, I see. I misunderstood you. I thought you said she was a 25-year-old out of Johns Hopkins. I didn\u2019t know what you were talking about.<\/p>\n

CALLER: No, no, no. The State Department woman this week that was killed in Afghanistan.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh. Oh.<\/p>\n

CALLER: She was in the State Department.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I got you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This is a failure! The fingers of the failures that are going out —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you\u2019ll have to forgive me, but we\u2019ve been going through failure for five years, and nobody cares! We have had one disaster after another. We\u2019ve had the almost purposeful destruction of the US economy. Nobody can find a job. It doesn\u2019t attach itself to the Democrat Party. So I\u2019m not counting anything ever again as a lock. Not until I see some shift in the culture and the society toward a public that is more than low-information. Not that I\u2019m gonna lose my optimism or any of that, but I\u2019m just not gonna count things as hatched before that happens. I\u2019m not gonna count on the fact that somebody\u2019s gonna stand up and say, “Mrs. Clinton, you\u2019re a failure.” I don\u2019t see any evidence that anybody\u2019s gonna say that about her. Nobody has yet. Why are they gonna start in 2016?<\/p>\n

Anyway, Carol, I appreciate the call.<\/p>\n

It needs to happen, I agree with you, and it\u2019s true. That\u2019s why my fake title of her book is What Difference Did I Make<\/a>.<\/p>\n

I just wanted to call and say I was kind of upset you were talking about Arkansas the way you were. I know that we have our people that are, well, a little off the edge like Bill and Hillary. I always gag when I go through Bill and Hillary International Airport, you know? But we have a lot of neat people here. We have a lot of neat industries here as well. We have Acxiom. We have Riceland Foods. We have Walmart here. Those are some pretty big games.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, you\u2019ve got a point. I should have made something clear. I don\u2019t think that of Arkansas. My mother was born in Searcy, Arkansas. In fact my mother was born on the exact same day Margaret Thatcher was — the identical day, same year, same day. I was speaking of Arkansas the way the Ivy Leaguers back in the seventies would speak of it. “She\u2019s going to Arkansas with that hick Clinton?” I don\u2019t think that of Arkansas! I don\u2019t think that of anywhere in this country. I\u2019m telling you, the elites in the Northeast couldn\u2019t believe she was going there.<\/p>\n
