RUSH: I want you to grab sound bites 11, 12, and 13. Now, folks, I\u2019m gonna step in it here. I could easily not say this and avoid a lot of trouble, but I\u2019m gonna go ahead and say it. We\u2019re losing our language. Words mean things. The way we\u2019re defining “courage” is kind of curious to me. A pro basketball player announcing that he likes to have sex with other men, in my book, in a comparative sense, is not courageous, when compared, say, to a whistleblower trying to set the record straight about what happened in Benghazi. <\/p>\n

Now, that\u2019s courage because that\u2019s taking on the oppressive power structure of this entire country. There are people, there are whistleblowers, there are people who are trying to blow the whistle on what happened in Benghazi. We still don\u2019t have the answers. We have a dead ambassador and three other Americans and there has yet to be a satisfactory explanation. How in the world did this happen? All we\u2019ve been told is that some renegade filmmaker, who\u2019s now in jail, ginned up a lot of anger and that caused it. We know that\u2019s not true. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Now, when you\u2019re trying to blow the whistle on an administration, that, to me, is courage. To the audio sound bites. Last night on Fox Special Report, their correspondent, Adam Housley, interviewed an unidentified special operator — face was blacked out, voice changed for the interview — about the attack on the consulate in Benghazi. And during the interview the special operator said this about the attack.<\/p>\n

WHISTLEBLOWER: I know for a fact that C-110, the UCOM SIF, was doing a training exercise not in the region of northern Africa, but in Europe, and they had the ability to react and respond. We had the ability to load out, get on birds, and fly there at a minimum stage. C-110 had the ability to be there, in my opinion, in four to six hours from their European theater to react.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, this is courage. I know some of you liberals are saying, “This is not courage. This is cowardly. These are cowards, Mr. Limbaugh. He won\u2019t put his face on TV. He will not let anybody see who he is. He has to hide behind a mask. That\u2019s not courage.” This guy is daring to speak out, and he knows that if the regime really wants to, they can find out who he is. Mr. New Castrati, if you don\u2019t think this is courage, you don\u2019t know what courage is. Four Americans are dead, an ambassador, unnecessarily. And there was no effort to help them. We haven\u2019t been told why yet. And the news from the regime still is: nothing to see here. Adam Housley then asked this special operator, unidentified, “They would have been there before the second attack, then. Four to six hours, they coulda got there before the second attack.”<\/p>\n

WHISTLEBLOWER: They would have been there before the second attack. They would have been there at a minimum to provide a quick reaction force that could facilitate their exfill out of the problem situation. Nobody knew how it was going to develop. And you hear a whole bunch of people and a whole bunch of advisors say hey, we wouldn\u00c2\u2019t have sent them there because the security was unknown situation. … at a minimum you send forces there to facilitate the exfill or medical injuries. We could have sent a C-130 to Benghazi to provide medical evacuation for the injured.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s exactly right. Since when does the US military not go someplace \u2019cause it\u2019s dangerous? You embarrass them. “Well, it was a no-win situation. We couldn\u2019t send the military, too dangerous, there was people shooting guns. We couldn\u2019t send the military in there.” And here\u2019s somebody saying we coulda at least sent a medical evac in there, sent a C-130 with medical personnel to evacuate the injured. We could have at least done that and we could have disguised that as an operational task force. Housley then said, “So you say many connected to Benghazi feel threatened, they\u2019re afraid to talk? So far, confidential sources have fed some information, but nobody\u2019s come forward publicly on camera until now.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

WHISTLEBLOWER: The problem is, you know, you got guys in my position, you got guys in the special operations community who are still active and still involved, and they would be decapitated if they came forward with information that could affect high level commanders.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And yet this guy is doing it. Now, that, to me, is courage. Now, may I remind everyone, Barack Obama never made a single phone call about Benghazi. After he was first briefed on this at five o\u2019clock, what we have been told is that he told Hillary and Leon Panetta, “Okay, you guys handle it.” And he\u2019s off the grid until eight hours later. That\u2019s the real question. Nobody knows where Obama was. He was off the grid. He was not reachable, or at least as far as the people involved and nobody knows what he was doing. What if it eventuated he was out shooting hoops, just didn\u2019t want to be bothered? What if he was just out playing basketball, maybe somewhere on a driving range or putting or whatever, just didn\u2019t want to be bothered, told Hillary and Panetta, “You guys handle it.” <\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t make one phone call, folks. He didn\u2019t make a single phone call. When everything started falling apart, he didn\u2019t know, under orders not to be told. But as Scott Pelley pointed out, President Barack Obama yesterday phoned Jason Collins, the first player in the NBA to ever publicly come out and announce he was gay. Not one phone call on Benghazi. Now, I could be snarky and I could say, maybe if some of the personnel in Benghazi had been gay, that he woulda called, been more involved. But I don\u2019t really want to say that. I\u2019m saying I could, I got an opportunity to have said that when he made a point, but that\u2019s really not what we\u2019re talking about here. We\u2019re losing our language in all kinds of ways. People doing courageous things are ignored or laughed at or impugned, insulted, and others who aren\u2019t engaging in courage are heralded as the bravest among us. It\u2019s actually a sad thing.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You want to know what real courage is? Try being a black conservative in American politics today. You want to know what courage is? Try being Allen West. Try being… Well, not Michael Steele. He\u2019s already sold out. Try being Shelby Steele. Try being Thomas Sowell. Try living the life of Clarence Thomas. (interruption) No, Michael Steele is just… You know, there\u2019s a classic example of somebody who\u2019s just inconsiderate and ungrateful. There was a day he had so much potential, I thought.<\/p>\n

I was one of his biggest champions, back in his days he was running for the Senate in Maryland. I\u2019m just saying, look at Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz, senator from Texas, is under attack from Republicans because of his just heartfelt conservatism. He\u2019s under attack from so-called Republicans in the media. The objective on all these guys — Ted Cruz, even Rubio to a certain extent, the black conservatives — the effort is try to pull these guys down and neuter \u2019em and make them afraid to be conservative and to express conservatism, all to clear the way for a RINO. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
