I think it is time &#8212; or I want to ask you, when your next speech to the nation will be, like your CPAC speech four years ago. I think it\u2019s way, way overdue for you to do something again like that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I very much appreciate you calling and asking when the next one of those is gonna be. I was kind of surprised when I did the CPAC speech.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: It was awesome.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Thank you very much. What was it, four years ago?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Yeah, it was Obama\u2019s first year.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushAddresstotheNation2.jpg\"\/><\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: So it was 2009.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: You were the first one to say &#8212; well, you know you were the person to say, &#8220;I hope he fails,&#8221; and it\u2019s like a status report from you. How\u2019s he doing?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Well, no, I &#8212;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: You know, it would wake some people up. You know, it would get play. You need&#8230; I think you\u2019re dead on about Rubio, but the Republican Party, it\u2019s like they go to Washington and they decide to trust each other. I don\u2019t get it. And maybe &#8212;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/videos\/player\/43265\/48383?id=4255636\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Look, hold on. <a href=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/?p=12551\">Let me close the loop here on Rubio and this naive business<\/a>, because I know this is gonna be misreported and misquoted. Let me just explain, for those of you in this audience who really matter to me and are who I care about and that\u2019s it. When I say he\u2019s naive, all I mean is&#8230; I don\u2019t think he\u2019s naive about what\u2019s going on in immigration. I don\u2019t think he\u2019s naive about what is happening in that bill.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not at all what I mean.<\/p>\n<p>When I say, &#8220;I think he\u2019s naive,&#8221; I just don\u2019t think he has yet undergone the full-fledged search-and-destroy mission that the left is gonna aim at him yet. And when that happens, he\u2019s gonna have a changed attitude about them. Right now he\u2019s their chosen guy. They love him. They\u2019ve allowed him to be front and center on this immigration bill. Chuck Schumer is praising him. But wait \u2019til the tables turn, or wait \u2019til Schumer and the boys go after Rubio and try to destroy him. That\u2019s all I mean. It\u2019s nothing more than that. And, frankly, &#8220;naivete,&#8221; I don\u2019t even mean that as an insult.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: I hope you\u2019re right.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH: I know I\u2019m right. How many times have you talked to people and you have an idea about dealing with the left but they say, &#8220;That\u2019ll never happen. Can\u2019t do it&#8221;? Why not? &#8220;It just wont happen.&#8221; He never says that yet, is my point. Rubio doesn\u2019t say, &#8220;We can\u2019t do that. We can\u2019t. It can\u2019t happen.&#8221; He\u2019s got that newly arrived enthusiasm. He knows who the left is, but they haven\u2019t trained their attack machine on him yet. That\u2019s all I mean, folks. It\u2019s really nothing more.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/videos\/player\/43265\/48384?id=4255636\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Now, as to my second inaugural address, I was shocked that CPAC even decided to meet the next year, after my first one. Hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee-hee. &#8220;See, Rush, that\u2019s why the 24-year-old girls don\u2019t like you! You\u2019re just so braggadocios, and you\u2019re so sure of yourself, and they know you mean it.&#8221; Well, I do, but I\u2019m nevertheless teasing. There would have to be a venue for it. The CPAC speech, I had no idea what I was gonna say specifically. I mean, I\u2019m driving there with no idea.<\/p>\n<p>I never do. I never plan. I just don\u2019t. I\u2019m not capable of it. I can\u2019t brainstorm. My mind really comes alive when I\u2019m actually in the middle of doing something, but we\u2019re driving in from the airport to the CPAC hotel and somebody said something in the car, and I said &#8220;That\u2019s it! I\u2019ll treat this as my first address to the nation,&#8221; and then it all just started flowing from that. Up until that time, I was wondering what I was gonna say, too. So now, when am I gonna do the next one? It\u2019s a good question.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve thought about it. Folks, I\u2019ve toyed with the idea of going to the networks and saying, &#8220;I want to buy 30 minutes.&#8221; I actually have. I\u2019ve not pulled the trigger on it, but I actually have, as a means of trying to reach people who don\u2019t listen to radio, or who do but don\u2019t, because of their preconceived, incorrectly formed, bigoted reasons. But I\u2019ve just never pulled the trigger. I don\u2019t know if I approached \u2019em if they would sell the time. (interrupting) Snerdley is saying it should be cheap on NBC. Yeah, but it\u2019s me calling.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/\/videos\/player\/43265\/48385?id=4255636\" width=\"585\" height=\"315\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Now, if you offer to do it in the summertime, they might take it. I don\u2019t know. Don\u2019t say anything about this to anybody. I haven\u2019t decided. I\u2019m just sharing with you a random thought that bounces around inside my cranial cavity. (interrupting) How about what? (interrupting) A university venue? No. No, no. What would happen to me with an audience? I\u2019d need an army division for security on a university campus. Are you kidding? That\u2019d be undermined before I got there.<\/p>\n<p>A university? Are you serious about that?<\/p>\n<p>This cannot have &#8212; I don\u2019t think it could have &#8212; a live audience. No, no, no. It\u2019d be a distraction. I don\u2019t know. I\u2019d have to think about it. And, folks, please don\u2019t tell anybody about it because it\u2019s just between you and me and I\u2019m not at all working on it. I mean, I\u2019m no further on it than what I\u2019ve just told you. It\u2019s just an idea I\u2019ve toyed with for years, you know, sitting around late at night after the dogs have gone to sleep and everybody else is in bed. You\u2019re sitting around with your adult beverage and the mind starts throwing out ideas.
