RUSH: Let\u2019s go to Washington. “A DC Council member is preparing to introduce a resolution calling on the Washington Redskins to change its name, perhaps to the Washington Redtails. Council member David Grosso, an independent elected last year, said he plans to pursue his non-binding resolution because the current name is ‘a derogatory, racist name.\u2019<\/p>\n

“‘It\u2019s been a long time that we\u2019ve had this name associated with Washington, and I think its time we take a stand and change it,\u2019 Grosso said. …\u2019Washington\u2019s name has been dishonored by association with the word “Redskins,”‘ the resolution states. ‘Because it is well known in America and in nations afar that American Indians have experienced utmost suffering and disrespect over the years.\u2019 … In his resolution, Grosso urges the team to change its name to the Washington Redtails, noting that that was the nickname used by the Tuskegee Airmen, the pioneering aviation unit that broke the color barrier for US military pilots in World War II.”<\/line><\/p>\n

They want to celebrate warriors? These are people who killed other people, in war! We can\u2019t use the word Redskins? Anyway, RGIII heard about this — the quarterback of the Washington Redskins, Robert Griffin III. Now, little history. There was a black reporter who used to be in Detroit. He was working at the time for ESPN, and he ripped into RGIII because he was a Republican. As a black, you can\u2019t be down for the struggle and be a Republican. You cannot be authentically black and be a Republican.<\/p>\n

So this ESPN reporter, Rob Parker I think was his name, called him “a cornball”<\/a> African-American or cornball something or other, and immediately banished RGIII from the lofty heights of African-Americans who are with the Democrat Party and down for the struggle. Because he\u2019s a Republican, because he dates a white woman — and by the way, Jason Collins\u2019 ex-fiancee is white. Ah, that doesn\u2019t matter now. But you remember they came down hard on RGIII.<\/p>\n

He didn\u2019t buckle then, and he tweeted yesterday after the news went out that the DC City Council wants to get rid of the name Redskins. Robert Griffin III tweeted, “In a land of freedom, we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness,” and the cesspool known as Twitter erupted in outrage against at RGIII. They erupted in outrage when they learned he was a Republican. They erupted in outrage when they learned that he was dating a white woman.<\/p>\n

Yesterday he tweeted, “In a land of freedom we are held hostage by the tyranny of political correctness,” and a bunch of leftist cesspool attendees on Twitter tried to say that he didn\u2019t even know what the word “tyranny” meant. When in fact, he knows every definition of the word tyranny. So the star quarterback of the Washington Redskins is defending the name of his team and talking about the petty, insignificant, offended characteristics of these leftists wringing their hands out there worried about the mascot name.<\/p>\n

<\/a>They want to tyrannize everybody else. It\u2019s furthermore been learned, RGIII — this is in the Washington Post. Robert Griffin III not only blew off the White House Correspondents Dinner — he was invited by NBC. He was to be the guest of NBC; he blew it off, and you know what else he blew off? He blew off a private pre-dinner reception with President Obama. The Washington Post today has a story: “Robert Griffin III: Why Did He Skip Correspondents\u2019 Dinner, Obama reception?”<\/p>\n

The nerve of this guy!<\/p>\n

Who does he think he is?<\/p>\n

Doesn\u2019t RGIII know where he\u2019s supposed to be and how he\u2019s supposed to talk and what he\u2019s supposed to think? So the left is in a tizzy over this guy. They don\u2019t like it. He\u2019s independent. He\u2019s bashing their censorship, which is what political correctness is. Political correctness is nothing but censorship of free speech, censorship of freedom of thought. They called him “a cornball brother.” Rob Parker. The Washington Post says, “We\u2019re told that Griffin was one of the elite cadre of dinner VIPs whose name was submitted a couple of weeks earlier for clearance into the most exclusive reception of the entire weekend, a backstage meet-and-greet with Obama” and Moochelle (My Belle).<\/p>\n

Nicole Kidman, Bradley Cooper, Conan O\u2019Brien joined the correspondents president Ed Henry and other select guests on that elite list, but RGIII never turned up. What a cornball brother he\u2019s turning out to be. So the left, my friends, let down and unhappy. <\/p>\n

RUSH: RGIII tweeted after the NFL draft ended: “To those who do not hear their name called in the next few days, I say know that your dreams are still there for the catching. Go get it.” Here\u2019s RGIII, now, he\u2019s a first rounder, but he was talking to guys that may have expected in the first round or second, don\u2019t hear their names, “Stay in there, hang in there.” He\u2019s inspiring, motivating, what a great guy. Then he learns that the long knives are out for the name of his team, and he says, “Look, we\u2019re all living under the tyranny of political correctness.
