RUSH: Aren\u2019t you sweet? That\u2019s very kind. I appreciate that. The guest hosts are great, and they\u2019re very nice guys — and they\u2019re extremely competent, or they wouldn\u2019t be here.<\/p>\n

CALLER: My four-year-old daughter, Brooklyn, and I, we listen to you just about every day. She said to tell you hi from her, so —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, you tell her that I hope it wasn\u2019t serious break of the leg.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, Brooklyn! I thought you said “broke her leg.” Sorry. Her name is Brooklyn. I thought she broke her leg in Brooklyn, and I was wondering why because you\u2019re in Iowa.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh. Nope.<\/p>\n

BROOKLYN: (talking)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Her name is Brooklyn. She listens to you with me about every day, so… (giggles)<\/p>\n

BROOKLYN: (talking)<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep, and she\u2019s all excited \u2019cause I\u2019m on the phone with you right now, so —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, thank you, Rush, and I want to say it\u2019s an honor to talk to you. I ended up taking your challenge from my brother to listen to you at the beginning of the year because — and unfortunately — yes, I did vote for the guy in power right now. I am very disheartened on where the country\u2019s going, and listening to you at the beginning of the year I guess really opened my eyes, and I just want to say: Keep up the fight — the good fight, I guess — and you are getting to people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, this —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Snerdley might not think so, but you are.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Now, this is interesting. You voted for Obama twice and you said your brother was urging you to…?<\/p>\n

CALLER: — to vote the other way, correct. He was on me and, Rush, I don\u2019t know why I didn\u2019t listen. I guess it\u2019s just that brotherly conflict, you know? I don\u2019t know. I love the kid, but —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well finally you did listen.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah, and it was eye opening.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What I\u2019m interested in is this: If you didn\u2019t listen to me, you probably… I\u2019m guessing. Tell me if I\u2019m wrong. You probably believed all of the stuff in the media, and whatever it is about me that\u2019s negative.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And that\u2019s correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. <\/p>\n

CALLER: That is so correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But you just started listening the first of this year, like six months ago. Is that right?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Correct. Correct.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This is interesting to me. It\u2019s actually uplifting. You\u2019ve gone from six months ago thinking that I was just maybe one of the worst reprobates on the planet to telling me to keep up the good fight. That is an amazing transformation you\u2019ve gone through.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, it is, and it\u2019s not the image I had. It\u2019s the image that was portrayed of you, not the image I had of you. The image that the media has of you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, yeah. That\u2019s what I meant. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Okay. All right. Because after listening to you, everything that you\u2019re saying is totally what I believe in and understand. How somebody can\u2019t take responsibility for their actions — not knowing what\u2019s going on in their own business, company, government — I don\u2019t get it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You know, you\u2019re giving me hope. You\u2019re giving me hope, because — at least in your case — here\u2019s somebody that now understands the Limbaugh Theorem<\/a>. You know exactly what I\u2019m talking about, and it found a home with you, \u2019cause you\u2019re doing the right thing. I mean, here\u2019s this guy. He\u2019s president, he\u2019s the number one executive, he\u2019s in charge of everything, and yet he doesn\u2019t know and it\u2019s a surprise to him and he\u2019s against it, too, and he\u2019s mad about it and he\u2019s trying to stop it!<\/p>\n

And he\u2019s not fooling you. <\/p>\n

That gives a lot of us hope, because I\u2019ll tell you: The low-information voters are carrying the day here. By low-information, we don\u2019t mean stupid. We just mean uninformed, maybe ignorant just in the literal sense of not knowing what\u2019s going on while thinking they do. But there\u2019s gonna have to be some push-back at some point, if not against Obama, at least against Democrats and the kind of things that he believes and the people that he puts in power believe.<\/p>\n
