CALLER: Hi, Rush. I love you, buddy. <\/p>\n

RUSH: I appreciate that. Thank you. Thank very much.<\/p>\n

CALLER: This thing with Obama, everything is Rules for Radicals. I read it when he was running. Everything he\u2019s doing is trying to crush conservatives, no matter how small we are. That\u2019s all he wants to do so is crush us and take our money away so we can\u2019t compete in elections. It matters how you say that to people because —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, our whole government is against us.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, no, no. I know. I\u2019m not disagreeing with you. Some people are gonna hear it the way you\u2019re saying it, and they\u2019re not gonna believe it because they don\u2019t want to believe they elected somebody like that. They don\u2019t want to believe that. It\u2019s like if you were to say, “Rush, look, I\u2019ve read it. I know everything about it. This guy is nothing but a communist,” it wouldn\u2019t persuade anybody. It just it doesn\u2019t work. <\/p>\n

I\u2019m not disagreeing with you on the Alinsky and the Rules for Radicals. There\u2019s no question that Obama\u2019s purpose is the elimination of opposition. Obama doesn\u2019t want to debate anybody. He doesn\u2019t care to debate anybody. He\u2019s not interested in anybody else\u2019s ideas. He\u2019s not interested in bipartisanship. All that\u2019s just mumbo jumbo that\u2019s focus group tested. He knows that low-information voters practically have orgasms when they hear “bipartisan,” “cooperation,” “working together to get things done,” blah, blah, blah, blah.<\/p>\n

So he utters that stuff, but that\u2019s not what he\u2019s about. It\u2019s his way or the highway. Now, I\u2019d be the same way. I don\u2019t want to be misunderstood. I\u2019d be the same way. I make no bones about it: I think liberals are to be defeated. Now, I think liberals are to be defeated for different reasons than liberals want me defeated. I\u2019m not afraid of \u2019em. I don\u2019t think they need to be silenced. I don\u2019t want to inflict government on \u2019em. <\/line>I don\u2019t want to have the First Amendment shut \u2019em down do or anything like that, the tactics they would use. I\u2019m not interested in any kind of boycotts against \u2019em. I want to beat \u2019em in the arena of ideas because I want a victory that lasts and I want a victory that\u2019s substance and I want a victory that has a mandate, so I want to beat \u2019em in the arena of ideas. They don\u2019t care about that \u2019cause they can\u2019t win that debate. Their ideas are on display now. <\/line><\/p>\n

We\u2019ve had 4-1\/2 years of their ideas, and what\u2019s happening? <\/p>\n

The country is in a big mess, the country is in crisis, the country is in chaos. The country doesn\u2019t have any… I mean, the employment numbers are out today, and media\u2019s doing everything they can to massage this into looking good, but it doesn\u2019t. We\u2019ve lost nine or 10 million jobs since this man became president. They just vanished from the job market. The labor force participation rate\u2019s almost as small as it\u2019s ever been as a percentage of people alive and capable of working in this country. <\/p>\n

Liberalism has had made that happen — or call it socialism or leftism or whatever ism you want to call it. But that\u2019s why I want to defeat it. It is destructive. <\/line>That\u2019s why it deserves to lose. <\/line><\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Tom in Princeton, New Jersey. Tom, I\u2019m glad you called. Great to have you on-the program. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yeah. Hi, Rush. You had talked earlier about a coup d\u2019etat within this administration. I guess my question is: If you listen to what the signers of the Constitution had to say about oppressive government and the protection that they put in for it, at what point do we have a coup d\u2019etat of the coup d\u2019etat? (chuckles)<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it\u2019s another way of asking, “What do we do when the government becomes oppressive,” right? What would you do? I mean, what would you do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. I think that\u2019s the point where we\u2019re at. Everybody sitting in their cars now or their desks would love to hear your perspective. At what point do we ask for a change or how does that manifest itself?<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, the old-fashioned way — and I\u2019m serious. I\u2019ll tell you again: If somebody were to say, “Rush, aside from meeting all the requirements necessary to be a success on radio in broadcasting — all that aside — what are you trying to do here?” I\u2019ve always said that, substantively, I\u2019m trying to educate people. See, I believe votes matter, I believe elections matter, and I think the greatest number of informed, participating people in the country is how we fix this.<\/p>\n

My purpose here has been to inform and engage the largest number of Americans I can reach, have them informed and have them participate and have them voting. I\u2019ve always believed in the old-fashioned way: When you\u2019ve got scoundrels in office, you vote \u2019em out. Now, the problem with that is, there has to be an alternative. There has to be somebody else that you want to support instead of status quo.<\/p>\n

And if they don\u2019t align with what you believe — if there isn\u2019t a political opposition apparatus that is the repository for what you believe — then what do you do? Well, that\u2019s when discussions of third parties surface. I\u2019ll just say again what I\u2019ve been saying for a number of years: Conservatives need to take control of the Republican Party. That\u2019s what has to happen. There isn\u2019t gonna be any impeachment. There\u2019s no magic event that is going to force this administration to change.<\/p>\n

That isn\u2019t gonna happen.<\/p>\n

The first thing that has to happen is the Republicans have to hold onto the House in 2014, even if they\u2019re RINOs, even if they are watered-down Republicans.<\/p>\n

The Democrats cannot win the House in 2014.<\/p>\n

If that happens, then there really is no opposition in Washington. There\u2019s nothing to stop Obama and the Democrats. Nothing. They won\u2019t even need legislation to get what they want. They\u2019re all going to agree on it. If Obama wants something, the House and Senate leaders will pass a bill in two minutes. “Okay, here you go.” They send it up, he signs it, or he does an executive order. Who\u2019s gonna stop him on anything? That\u2019s the first thing that has to happen in the real world, practical matters: Elections.<\/line><\/p>\n
