RUSH: I do want to give you an umbrella, in a way here. Folks, let me tell you the way Washington thinks, in many ways, but this is one way they think. They need money. The US government needs money. We are hopelessly in debt. The tax increases that are coming are already over the top. Washington knows, much of official Washington knows that they\u2019ve gone beyond the point here, taxation, because the impact on economic growth and productivity and creativity has now been stifled. I mean, the tax rates are such that real creation of wealth, real opportunity for prosperity is diminishing left and right. <\/p>\n

They\u2019ve got to come up with money. And they know this: If you use the popularly accepted figure of 1.3 million abortions a year, go back to Roe vs. Wade 1973, 52 million taxpayers haven\u2019t been born, is the way Washington looks at it. They don\u2019t look at it morally. They don\u2019t look at it in any kind of cultural way or any kind of cultural impact. They just say we\u2019re 52 million people short. We have 52 million fewer people paying taxes. We gotta replace \u2019em. Hello amnesty. The Democrat Party needs a permanent underclass in order to keep themselves alive as Santa Claus, to keep winning elections and stay in power. But Washington overall, much as they hate people, much as they hate their base, much as they hate the middle class, they still need people working and paying taxes, regardless how many people are gonna be paying a lot or a little. The illegals income levels might be such they wouldn\u2019t be paying much, but it\u2019s better than nothing. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

So one of the reasons for amnesty is to replace the 52 million people aborted. I just want to tell you something. I really think that abortion is at the root — you could do a flowchart — I think abortion is at the root of so much that has and is going wrong in this country. I think that the number of abortions themselves, but what in toto it all means, culturally, in terms of the sanctity of life, how that\u2019s crumbled, I think it\u2019s almost at the root of everything. And if it\u2019s not at the root of everything, it\u2019s clearly had a profound impact on our culture, our society, and our politics, I think in ways that people don\u2019t even stop to consider. <\/p>\n

None of it good and it\u2019s caused all kinds of horrible problems that nobody knows how to fix. Because they refuse to even accept that abortion is more than what it is. To most people, it\u2019s just a woman\u2019s right to choose, and it\u2019s nobody\u2019s business, and leave it alone and I don\u2019t want to talk about it. But it\u2019s really had much more impact on this country than just that. It\u2019s had impact on crime. It\u2019s had a profound impact on our politics. It is at the root of our cultural rot and decay. <\/p>\n

You can trace the problems with accepting personal responsibility, no consequences for your actions, you can trace so much right back to it. And I\u2019m not talking about the women. I\u2019m talking the overall effect of a society having literally no problem with eliminating 52 million of its citizens. That can\u2019t be good. Much of it is a subliminal subconscious effect, obviously. It\u2019s not something that\u2019s apparent. But it makes all kinds of sense when it\u2019s explained to you, and perhaps someday I will. <\/p>\n

Nancy Pelosi was in an interview recently with Weekly Standard, and she really, to prove my point here, or to illustrate it, she was asked about Kermit Gosnell, and she doesn\u2019t see anything wrong there. That\u2019s no different than third trimester abortions. And, by the way, that\u2019s it, she wasn\u2019t gonna talk any more about it because she is a devout Catholic. She has six kids, and it isn\u2019t about politics, and she\u2019s not gonna discuss it anymore, she said, because the interviewer was taking it in the direction of politics, and abortion isn\u2019t politics. Abortion is sacred ground, she said. It is the sacrament of liberalism, is what it is. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know how you can have so much white guilt over slavery 150 years ago and have no guilt over what\u2019s happening with abortion. I really don\u2019t. I think it is the cause of so much that seems to be inexplicable to people. Why are 10-year-olds shooting each other to death in Chicago? Why is our society so permissive, anything goes, the more ribald, the better? The more honorable the more boring it is said to be. It\u2019s just something that\u2019s really obvious. But to Washington, if you can\u2019t figure out, if you\u2019re scratching your head, you\u2019re pulling your hair out, “What in the world is so damn important — immigrants start more businesses than native born Americans? Immigrants have better family lives? Immigrants are more fertile? What in the world?” <\/p>\n

We need 52 million people that we don\u2019t have. We need the taxes of 52 million people that don\u2019t exist. They were conceived. They were going to be born, but something happened, and they\u2019re not here, but we need \u2019em. Our birthrate is not at replacement levels. That\u2019s what he means by this fertility business. It\u2019s not a matter of fertility. It\u2019s a matter of abortion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
