RUSH: I\u2019ll get to Obama and Germany. There were two things he did in Germany. He had a press conference with Merkel and he had a speech, the Brandenburg Gate. If you remember, in 2008 Obama went over to Germany and he requested at that time to speak at the Brandenburg Gate, and the Germans, boy, they were under a lot of pressure because back then Obama was The Messiah. He was making a tour of Europe on his messianic pilgrimage as part of his campaign. He requested to speak at the Brandenburg Gate, and the Germans said no. You are not yet of that stature. <\/p>\n

So he got as close to the Brandenburg Gate as possible, and 200,000 people showed up. German beer was flowing. And the god echo in Obama\u2019s speech, you remember that? I mean, it was just all over the place. You know how many people showed up today? Six thousand. Two hundred thousand in 2008. Six thousand today. That\u2019s quite a drop. And you want to hear something humorous. Apparently — and I haven\u2019t heard it yet, because, frankly, I\u2019ve had other things on my mind today, but I\u2019ve heard that Obama, in his speech — not the presser with Merkel — but in his speech, it kind of fizzled at the end. <\/p>\n

Chris Matthews offered a reason why. The setting sun made it difficult for Obama to see the teleprompter. He couldn\u2019t see the text. So it was the sun\u2019s fault. Now, this teleprompter business, I have used \u2019em on my TV show, and I\u2019m really uncomfortable with \u2019em. I mean, they\u2019re confining. You end up relying on the darn thing. They eliminate spontaneity. I\u2019m not comfortable with these things. The only time I use one is when I have to have something just fit. Like the Morning Update, I use a prompter for it because it\u2019s gotta come in at 90 seconds, and I can\u2019t end up ad-libbing in tangents and so forth. And I can\u2019t edit video so I\u2019ve gotta do it all in one take, but that\u2019s the only time I use a prompter. Because I know what I\u2019m talking about.<\/p>\n

If you know what you\u2019re talking about you don\u2019t need notes, even. Maybe just an outline to jog your memory, and then you go. But Obama, if you\u2019ve noticed, he\u2019s lost without that prompter. And I know why. I know why he\u2019s always on the prompter. And that is to make sure he doesn\u2019t slip up and portray what he really thinks and what his plans really are. It\u2019s so Obama stays confined in the way that he has been marketed and presented, and he participates in that of course, and the way they manage, \u2019cause it\u2019s all about the Limbaugh Theorem<\/a>. It\u2019s all about Obama appearing detached, unattached. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s all about Obama disguising what his real intentions are. With no prompter and no discipline, he might actually let it slip what his real plans are, and that would be devastating. The fact of the matter is that most liberals cannot be honest with you about what they really hope happens or what they really want to happen or what they really intend to do, because if that ever happens — and it has — they don\u2019t win much. They\u2019re resoundingly defeated, particularly in national elections. So that\u2019s the primary reason for the prompter, is to keep Obama on message and disciplined so that he doesn\u2019t wander off and give up the game. <\/p>\n

But we\u2019ve got sound bites on all this, and we\u2019ll get to that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, yeah, I was just watching a little bit of Obama and the speech at the Brandenburg Gate. Two hundred thousand people showed up for an Obama speech in 2008. Six thousand today. Fox has a side-by-side comparison of the crowd side. That\u2019s not 6,000 people there today. What are they telling us? There\u2019s no way that\u2019s 6,000 people! That\u2019s not even a minor league hockey game crowd. There isn\u2019t any 6,000 people there. <\/p>\n

Anyway, I didn\u2019t hear it, but supposedly the end of the Obama\u2019s speech today at the Brandenburg Gate kind of fizzled. It had no pizzazz, and Chris Matthews — the sycophantic thrill-up-the-leg Obamaite — said that it was because of the sun, the setting sun was obscuring Obama\u2019s prompter, and he wasn\u2019t able to see the words on the prompter, and without the prompter we he doesn\u2019t know what he\u2019s saying, apparently. What else is there to conclude? Well, we know the real reason he\u2019s on prompter. <\/p>\n

They gotta make sure he doesn\u2019t drift off and reveal what\u2019s really on his mind. <\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: You have to hear a little bit of Obama in Berlin today at the Brandenburg Gate. Audio sound bite number six. This, he said, is the most important issue facing the people of the planet.<\/p>\n

OBAMA: With a global middle class consuming more energy every day, this must now be an effort of all nations, not just some. For the grim alternative affects all nations: More severe storms, more famine and floods, new waves of refugees, coastlines that vanish, oceans that rise. This is the future we must divert. This is the global threat of our time, and for the sake of future generations, our generation must move toward a global compact to confront a changing climate before it is too late. That is our job. That is our task.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And we cannot do it. We cannot control the climate. We cannot affect it, we can\u2019t fix it, we can\u2019t stop it, we can\u2019t make it happen, we can\u2019t do anything. The way to translate this is, you need to stand aside and let governments grow and grow and grow. That\u2019s what that means. We all must come together and then stand aside and let us who run governments grow them even bigger. That\u2019s all this global warming\/climate change crap is about. You can\u2019t stop a hurricane. You can\u2019t stop a coastline. Whether it\u2019s sinking or rising sea levels, you can\u2019t stop any of it. You can\u2019t cause it, you can\u2019t limit it in any way. Absolute crock. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
