CALLER: Hi, Rush. I want to speak to you today about the immigration bill that\u2019s going through the House.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: You\u2019ve had Pelosi, Reid, Schumer, and Obama all telling Republicans that it\u2019s such a bad idea for us not to pass it and that we gotta push this through, otherwise we have no shot of getting the White House in 2016. And if that doesn\u2019t set up a red flag, that these four knuckleheads are telling you that you have to pass this, I don\u2019t know what does. Reid has been sticking stuff in a drawer for the last five years. Why don\u2019t we just take this bill, stick in the drawer, and tell \u2019em, “When we have the Senate, we\u2019ll come up with something good”?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, here\u2019s the thing. By the way, there\u2019s more on this. There are Republican establishment figures who are in the news today. They\u2019re out making personal appearances, and they\u2019re bragging about how Republicans voted on the amnesty bill in the Senate, and they\u2019re bragging about the Gang of Eight Republicans are out there saying, “We love you,” to Hispanic groups, and that this ought to show you that we love you.<\/p>\n

The establishment of this party is authoring its demise. You talk about Pelosi and Reid and Schumer and all these other Democrats — Bob Menendez, the Democrat senator from New Jersey — all warning us that if we don\u2019t do this on immigration, we\u2019re never gonna win the White House. As though they are interested in us winning the White House? I mean, the idea that the Democrats are advising us to do things to help us, which means that they would lose? I just don\u2019t buy it. I\u2019m sorry. I don\u2019t think the Democrats ever want us to win the White House ever again.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Steven in Westchester County, New York. It\u2019s great to have you on the program, sir. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Thanks, Maha Rushie, and bless you for all you do, too.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You are welcome, sir. Thank you very much. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I have a question with this whole immigration thing and, to me, these fraudulent numbers that the government\u2019s come out with in regards to legalizing these people and then actually having the government have more money in its coffers. It seems to me that if we have about seven million illegals in this country, let\u2019s say about 25% of them had children, and therefore when they become legalized, they are instantly available to take avail of the federal earned income tax credit. I don\u2019t see how —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Which is something that might not impact recently married gay couples, which means that the illegals are gonna have an advantage over the gay couples who ostensibly get married for federal benefits.<\/p>\n

CALLER: There you go. There you go, sir.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I mean, there\u2019s just no justice.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. I know. You\u2019re right. The earned income tax credit to illegals that have children, plus they\u2019re auto citizens —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Mmm-hmm.<\/line><\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019d love to know more the details of the financials of this thing \u2019cause it\u2019s driving me nuts, and… I don\u2019t know. Maybe we\u2019ll get some more of that as time passes, but we\u2019re on a short string here.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I gotta tell you something. I\u2019ve been tracking this and following this, and the Republicans are celebrating this vote in the Senate. The Gang of Eight. I don\u2019t meant this to sound threatening or intimidating in any way. I honestly think that the Republican establishment doesn\u2019t know what awaits it regarding this issue. I don\u2019t think… Maybe they do and they just don\u2019t care. That\u2019s just as likely, actually, \u2019cause they were the same people in 2007 when your phone calls shut this down then. <\/p>\n

I think they know, actually. <\/p>\n

But let me put it this way. I don\u2019t think… They know that there\u2019s opposition, and they know it\u2019s their base. I don\u2019t believe they realize how deep it goes. I don\u2019t think they have the slightest idea how deep the anger at the current thinking, as expressed by supposedly smart Republican establishment people, exists. The anger. I don\u2019t think they have any idea how deep it is in towns large and small all across this country. <\/p>\n

People are livid every time an establishment leader opens his mouth and says, “We gotta do this to make amends with the Hispanic community! We\u2019ve gotta do this so they will love us!” Now, certain members of our establishment, certain establishment members are running around talking about how they are loved now, that the Hispanics get us now. It\u2019s a fantasy like I\u2019ve not seen in a long time, and I just don\u2019t think they know. This issue, even if it were the only thing happening, the anger would be deep and solid.<\/p>\n

But in connection with back home, it comes after the wrecking of the US economy, it comes after wrecking the job market, it comes after the exploding debt and interest rates in the student loan program. It comes after all of this other Obama stuff was not stopped or even pushed back against. I think the degree to which people like you are fit to be tied out there over this is something that has escaped them or they\u2019re either aware of it and are ignoring it. But they\u2019re certainly not factoring it, and they\u2019re going to regret that if they continue to push this thing through the House or if they start playing games in a conference committee. <\/p>\n

You have people more and more talk about third party now. <\/p>\n
