RUSH: This is Alan in Seymour, Indiana. Welcome, sir. It\u2019s a delight to have you with us. Hi.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, love you, Rush. Been listening to you forever. I watched Jeantel, and she explained that, as a white man, I can use the word “nigga,” and I didn\u2019t know that. But then I got to thinking about it. When they asked Paula Deen, they didn\u2019t ask her which word she used. They asked her if she used “the N-word.” So all these people may owe Paula an apology \u2019cause she might not have said anything that was bad after all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Let me help out here. No matter what you heard Rachel Jeantel say, and no matter how you translated it, I would strongly advise you not to try it on the street. I wouldn\u2019t put this to the test anywhere. I wouldn\u2019t go out there and utter the word n-i-g-g-a to see what happens and then say, “Hey, it just means ‘a guy,'” and then when the person says, “Who told you that?” answer, “Rachel Jeantel.” I wouldn\u2019t try this.<\/p>\n

CALLER: That sounds like good advice.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I can see where you would interpret what she did say that way, because she was asked point-blank by Piers Morgan<\/a>, “Is that racial?” She said (summarized), “No, man! No. It means a guy. It means a male.” And by the way, this is 2013, and I don\u2019t know how the definition changed the way Rachel Jeantel said so. It\u2019s still a word that I think, actually, can only be used by certain people. I just wouldn\u2019t try it. I know that it would appear that you could say whatever you wanted to say now, but you can\u2019t, \u2019cause it\u2019s not about that. <\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. Listening to your first segment, I had an epiphany. Is this the two Americas that John Edwards and the Democrats always reference?<\/p>\n

RUSH: No. The two Americas they were talking about were the haves, like themselves, and the have-nots.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I understand.<\/p>\n

RUSH: This two Americas is an entirely differently cultural thing. This doesn\u2019t have anything to do with economics.<\/p>\n

CALLER: But can we make a comparison in the terms of: In one America, you can use certain words; in the other America, you can\u2019t?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, yeah, but that\u2019s always been the case. In the NBA, you can use certain words and in the stands you can\u2019t.<\/p>\n

CALLER: And in one America, thousands of innocent, unarmed black children are indiscriminately killed on the streets of Philly —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, ah, ah! See, I pointed that out yesterday, and I\u2019ve already had a guy criticize me as a racist for saying so, and I\u2019ve had a TV network go after me today for pointing that out.<\/p>\n
