CALLER: Hey, hi, Rush. This is a real pleasure. I\u2019ve been with you since 1989. It\u2019s good to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. You say you\u2019re in Detroit. Are you in the city?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I work in the city. I live in the suburbs. Yeah, I work in the inner city, a conglomerate of hospitals. But, anyway, we deal with a lot of low-income or no-income people.<\/p>\n

RUSH: At what? What do you do?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I\u2019m a pharmacist.<\/p>\n

RUSH: A pharmacist in Detroit.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes. A lot of the people that come in believe that Obamacare is free. Even some on my staff, they believe that it was going to be free, and they just got their new insurance, and the bill showed that it doubled or close to doubled, depending on how many hours they get in per week.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: I know. This is why it\u2019s gonna implode. This is why, when this thing fully implements, it\u2019s gonna be fun to watch. I know. Brian, let me tell you something: The day this thing passed and the overall bill was signed, I had people like you calling here and sending notes that people in their offices were saying, “Okay, my health care\u2019s free now!”<\/p>\n

CALLER: True.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s how they heard Obama selling it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s what they think it means.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know. They\u2019re just totally unaware. They\u2019re so uninformed. It\u2019s awful, and I feel terrible. I mean, I love this country to death, and I just see it going right down the flush hole with these low-information voters who have no information. They come in for things that are written on prescription pads. Well, just because the doctor writes it on prescription, doesn\u2019t mean that it\u2019s covered. I mean, they don\u2019t pay. They pay for some over-the-counter things that you or I would have to normally pay cash for, but they get it covered on their insurance because it\u2019s a form of Medicaid, which covers the prescription.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Give me an example. I can\u2019t imagine. What over-the-counter is covered by Medicaid?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, one item is like Claritin syrup, which is an over-the-counter item.<\/p>\n

RUSH: What is it? What is Claritin syrup?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Claritin syrup, or even Claritin tablets are both over-the-counter. They\u2019re antihistamines. They\u2019re allergy medicine.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, Claritin. These things are covered by insurance?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes! Oh, yes. They\u2019re covered completely, 100%, zero copay for these people. Yeah. Most of the people that we get anyhow have zero copay. (chuckles) When we tell them… Sometimes there\u2019s a time that does come that either a prescription item or an OTC item is not covered, and they say, “Well, it\u2019s supposed to be free.” They really believe in their heart of hearts that it\u2019s free! No. Nothing is free. Somebody\u2019s paying for it. Somebody along the line is paying for this.<\/p>\n

RUSH: They don\u2019t care as long as it\u2019s not them. You know, it\u2019s not just this. A lot of people think a lot of things are free, that they\u2019re entitled to it free. This is how the Democrat Party has sold things to these people. This is how the Democrat Party has acquired their voters. I tell you something: The Obamacare ads make you think it\u2019s free.<\/p>\n

Even the Obamacare ads now promote that. The ads that they are running to promote and sell this in the run-up to the 2014 midterms as they try to change public opinion on the law? The ads they\u2019re running now will make certain people think that Obamacare is free. We know that morning after pills are now “free.” Remember that controversy? Brian, thanks for the call. I appreciate it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hi, Rush. It\u2019s a pleasure to talk to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I was just calling because I had a different approach on what Obamacare was probably really intended to do. Um, I have this feeling that maybe it\u2019s intended to get some of the low-information voters who already have hatred towards the capitalist system to maybe hate it a little more, considering the fact that a lot of these guys are gonna be losing plenty of hours to it. On top of that they\u2019ll be working two jobs, whereas the people that employ them get to avoid having to pay for the health insurance.<\/p>\n

So in their minds, they\u2019re just getting richer anyway.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, there\u2019s no doubt that\u2019s gonna happen. I don\u2019t think that was the “purpose” of it. That\u2019s an ancillary benefit for Obama. The purpose of Obamacare — if you\u2019re a liberal, the purpose for national health care — is the control of the population. That\u2019s why you want to do it. If you\u2019re a big liberal, if you\u2019re a huge leftist\/socialist, you want health care for control.<\/p>\n

Take a look every socialist\/communist country and you\u2019ll find, at the outset, the dictator is setting the table and making his pitch to the people. Free health care or government-run health care is always among the first two or three things. Because if they get that, they then have total control over the population, because every lifestyle decision and behavior — every decision that you make, everything you eat, kind of car you drive, everything you do — is going to have a relationship to health care costs.<\/p>\n

That\u2019s how they\u2019re able to control it.<\/p>\n

Vladimir Lenin was the first modern-era dictator to propose universal health care, and it has been a cherished dream of every leftist ever since, including the Nazis, National Socialist Workers\u2019 Party of Germany. Health care was right there in the top two things. It is total control of the population. Now, as people lose their jobs or are converted to part time and end up worse on the economic ladder, they are gonna hate the rich even more. So that helps the regime in charge as well \u2019cause they get to continue to promote class warfare.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Got a pop quiz. Snerdley, I\u2019ll ask you, as I\u2019m asking everybody else. I\u2019m asked this question all the time. I have answered this question all the time. But I\u2019ll ask it again: Why do truth-in-advertising laws not apply to political commercials?<\/p>\n

(interruption)<\/p>\n

Mmm-hmm. That\u2019s exactly right: The First Amendment, freedom of speech clause was specifically written with political speech in mind. The federal government cannot tell somebody what they or can\u2019t say in political speech, and political advertising is political speech. So you can say whatever you want in a political ad — unless you\u2019re the Tea Party, and then the IRS will come down on you.<\/p>\n

The IRS, in fact, will come down on you before you run any ads, making sure that you don\u2019t have the money to run any ads. That was because the IRS probably was directed by Obama to do that. Not directly. He wouldn\u2019t have to. I\u2019m rehashing old ground here, but one of the head honchos met with Obama a couple of days before all this started happening. But that\u2019s not necessary.<\/p>\n

Obama puts people just like himself in all of these positions of authority — in all the cabinet positions, in as all of the czars — so he doesn\u2019t have to have a paper trail. He doesn\u2019t have to send a memo to Eric Holder about what he wants the Justice Department to do. Holder\u2019s gonna do it anyway. Holder is Obama. The people of the IRS, they don\u2019t need a memo. They don\u2019t need instructions.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re put there because they already hate conservatives. They\u2019re put there because they already despise conservatives. They\u2019re put there because they already are inclined to have an unlevel playing field for conservatives. This is why liberals want to be in government: To use it as a weapon against their enemies, political opponents. That\u2019s what they want to be in government. It\u2019s all about power. It\u2019s all about control.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not about governing.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not about all the things they claim to stand for: Fairness and being nice and understanding and being tolerant and compassionate and guaranteeing that there won\u2019t be any discrimination. That\u2019s not actual. The government\u2019s the biggest weapon in this country. It\u2019s a giant weapon, and there\u2019s all kinds of ammunition that you can put in this weapon, and that\u2019s why they want it.<\/p>\n

Liberals want to control the government to eliminate their opposition.<\/p>\n

So when Obama puts somebody over at the IRS, it\u2019s explicitly understood that whoever is there — and it\u2019s not just one person. Whoever is there isn\u2019t going to have to be told to make it tough on conservative groups. It\u2019s just gonna happen. Same thing at the EPA. Same thing at OSHA. Wherever Obama\u2019s gonna put people in appointive or even career positions, this is how liberals use government.<\/p>\n

In fact as far as they\u2019re concerned, the reasons for government to exist is to advance their agenda and to eliminate any opposition. I mean, the media doesn\u2019t need to be told what to do, do they? Do you think Obama has to have a meeting with Matt Lauer or Brian Williams or Chris Matthews or Piers Morgan? (I\u2019d better stop naming names; I\u2019ll be here all night.) You think Obama has to have meetings with any of these people to tell \u2019em what to do every day on their newscasts?<\/p>\n

Hell, no.<\/p>\n

They\u2019re gonna do it anyway.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s who they are. That is why when anybody gets hired by a news network, they\u2019re hired on the basis of what their already known inclinations are. Are you conservative or you liberal? It\u2019s not even asked. Conservatives aren\u2019t even hired, much like it is in Hollywood.<\/p>\n

BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/p>\n

RUSH: Here\u2019s Rob in Glen Cove, New York. Hi, Rob. Great to have you on the program. Hello.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, good afternoon, Rush. How are you?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Very well. Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good. Thanks for taking my call. You know, in terms of some of these political people deciding whether they should go after the repeal of Obamacare before 2014 or not, I just want to tell you and your audience that the rates came out for the exchanges here in New York last Thursday. The average premium — I\u2019ve been doing health care for 23 years — the average premium for the cheapest plan for a person over 30 years of age is about $415 a month, and that includes a $3,300 deductible. And, from my experience, that\u2019s also based on your modified adjusted gross.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Wait a minute. Wait a minute. Four hundred and how much a month?<\/p>\n

CALLER: 415.<\/p>\n

RUSH: 415. So we\u2019re basically looking at $4800 a year.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right. But you get no help from the government in terms of a premium tax subsidy if you make just north of 3750.<\/p>\n

RUSH: But I thought Obama was gonna cut everybody\u2019s premium $2,500.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s based on the subsidy. The point I\u2019m saying to you is that any young kid who\u2019s got student loans, got the car, car maintenance, car insurance, on $3,800 a month, he still has to pay taxes, he still has to pay all the other nuts he\u2019s gotta pay in terms of his rent, and if he gets sick for paying 415, he still has a $3,300 deductible.<\/p>\n

RUSH: No, he doesn\u2019t, because there\u2019s an option to pay a fine.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, that\u2019s —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Did they publish —<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

RUSH: — the cost of the fines?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, the fine is gonna $95 or 1% of his annual salary. But that\u2019s my point, is that, you\u2019re right, he\u2019s gonna pay the fine; he\u2019s not gonna buy the insurance. Hence you\u2019re gonna have adverse selection, and you\u2019re gonna have only the sickies go onto the exchanges, and it\u2019s gonna be even a bigger cost. And the irony is that if you have like a dental issue, you have no coverage at all.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: For all this money out of pocket.<\/p>\n

RUSH: All these people, the 30-and-under crowd you\u2019re talking about, they\u2019re gonna opt for the fine. By the way, this is part of the plan\u2019s design. The fines are so relatively, comparatively inexpensive to the policy, they want young people paying the fine, to suck \u2019em in by taking the fine and not buying a policy, they\u2019re undercutting private sector insurance companies. The whole thing here is designed to put private sector insurance companies out of business. The fines are cheaper for two or three years, and then after that, the fines end up, I mean, they skyrocket, they end up being much more expensive than the policy, after only I think two or three years. And then these young 30-year-olds and under, they are gonna get shocked, because their fine is no longer gonna be cheaper, and the IRS is gonna be after \u2019em. And their policy, whatever it cost, is gonna be deducted via their taxes because those people and their contributions, whatever we\u2019re gonna call \u2019em, have to subsidize the treatment for the elderly, correct?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: And that\u2019s why they\u2019re being sucked in the way they are.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I\u2019m just saying to you that it\u2019s gonna be a load such that the hook that holds the whole thing together, I don\u2019t see this being able to be popularly financed \u2019cause the benefits are way too rich and the cost on the ground for other costs, other necessities are so high that young people aren\u2019t gonna buy it in the first place, they\u2019ll just pay the penalty.<\/p>\n

RUSH: For a while. For a while. The penalty goes away after two or three years, by design. Look, this is not insignificant. Those fines are cheap to attract people. They want the young not buying insurance. Health insurance companies can\u2019t exist without customers. The objective is to eventually have, in 10 years, everybody required to go to the government because that\u2019s gonna be the only place you can go to get insurance, and then they own everything. The purpose of the fines is to put private sector insurance out of business, eventually.<\/p>\n

(interruption)<\/p>\n

What\u2019s to stop \u2019em from going off the grid? The income tax form. By off the grid you mean going cash economy? Well, that\u2019s why this thing — I mean, Rob said it. The numbers don\u2019t work out. The benefits so far outweigh what is gonna be contributed, for lack of a better word, it can\u2019t fly. Now, there\u2019s a Wall Street Journal story today that Bobby Jindal and Scott Walker, Louisiana governor, Wisconsin governor respectively, they\u2019re out there talking about this, that Obamacare is simply unworkable. It cannot work. And the point they make — I\u2019ll just read from the piece, a pull quote.<\/p>\n

“The slightly larger problem is that the Obama administration doesn\u2019t have a health-care plan. Yes, the White House has a law with thousands of pages, but the closer we get to Oct. 1, the day government-mandated health-insurance exchanges are supposed to open, the more we see that the administration doesn\u2019t have a legitimate plan to successfully implement the law.”<\/p>\n

There is no framework. There\u2019s simply 2,200 pages of liberal utopia panacea crap page after page after page, but there is no systematic blueprint to tell people how to implement this and what to do.
