CALLER: Hello, Rush. It\u2019s an honor to speak with you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just wanted to vent my frustration at the way that Barack Obama is constantly be propped up. We can see that those in the State-Run Media that are working feverishly — feverishly — to turn it into his own Cuban Missile Crisis. Those of us who know history know that JFK only got into that mess because he so badly bombed his initial meeting with Khrushchev. No one remembers that. They remember him managing his way through that crisis. It is considered one of the highlights of the presidency. <\/p>\n

Similarly, no one can remember that we only got in this mess because of Obama\u2019s incompetence. No one can remember that we only can potentially get out of it because he stumbled across a solution because of pure dumb luck, and no one\u2019s actually gonna care if it\u2019s a real solution or not. If he can get out of this and they can make him look good, we\u2019ll see the media blackouts of anything that happens in Syria from here on out because, “Problem solved! Barack Obama, through his brilliance, solved this crisis,” and that\u2019s what we\u2019re gonna read about in the history books 15, 20 years from now.<\/p>\n

RUSH: I think you\u2019re right, and your use of the JFK Cuban Missile Crisis is a great example, great illustration, if I heard you correctly. You went by pretty quickly there, so let me summarize what you said just so I know, before I comment. Essentially what you said is JFK actually bungled the Cuban Missile Crisis, but the history books never, ever, said that. He was lauded as a hero forever, and particularly after his assassination, as gutsy, courageous. “He really took it to Khrushchev!”<\/p>\n

Nobody knew in the general population how close we came to disaster and what we had to allow, what we actually gave up. We gave up missile positions in Turkey and a bunch of things in exchange for the missiles never getting to Cuba and so forth, and you\u2019re saying the same thing here. This is a manufactured crisis. Obama draws his red line last summer, and the supposed use of chemical weapons. We\u2019ve got a video out there showing this. We have this supposed crisis.<\/p>\n

Obama even says yesterday, “It doesn\u2019t matter. It doesn\u2019t affect us. It does not affect the US national security.” But yet Obama today is hailed as a great leader and as a great hero for averting a potential world disaster with chemical weapons, and the history books are gonna repeat this for who knows how long, and nobody\u2019s gonna know the truth in the general population, low-information population. It\u2019s gonna be the same thing: The media covering for him like they covered for JFK. Is that basically your main point?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Exactly. Exactly. But also just the fact that even the reason we got into the Cuban Missile Crisis to begin with was because JFK was seen as such a weak leader.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Khrushchev thought he could roll over him. That\u2019s the only reason that the crisis even occurred.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, it is true.<\/p>\n

CALLER: It was his own incompetence there. Similarly here, we don\u2019t have to even be having this conversation if it wasn\u2019t for the fact that Obama is so incompetent that he created this problem. Getting credit for managing their way through problems they themselves created.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I think that\u2019s exactly right. It all boils down to the fact that Obama is just too big to fail. He\u2019s too incompetent to fail. It just can\u2019t be permitted. It just won\u00c2\u2019t, and there so many other factors or reasons why that is going to be the case, and numero uno is race and the left\u2019s view of it and its history in this country. It can be summed up with the very apt description, “the soft bigotry of low expectations,” and we are right smack-dab in the middle of that. It\u2019s the soft bigotry of low expectations. <\/p>\n

You know, the first media sound bite we played today is a great indication of how they\u2019ll circle the wagons — and they always have. There\u2019s nothing new. Now, let me address something. By the way, Punit, thanks for the call. I appreciate it. I know all this sounds depressing, because it just doesn\u2019t seem right. I mean, in a just sense, in a moral sense, it doesn\u2019t seem right that bad guys get away with it, that the incompetent get away with it, that whoever circles the wagons protects the bad guys, and the country suffers the consequences.<\/p>\n

It just doesn\u2019t seem right and people say, “Okay, what\u2019s gonna happen to mete out the justice here?” These people don\u2019t deserve this kind of credit. They don\u2019t deserve this kind of success. They don\u2019t deserve this kind of treatment. They don\u2019t deserve these accolades. They\u2019re incompetent! They\u2019re boobs! They\u2019re destroying elements of this country that defined its greatness, the traditions and the institution. They\u2019re botching health care, botching immigration. <\/p>\n

You know, you sit and wonder: “Where\u2019s the justice in this? Where does it even out at some point?” The answer is, these things don\u2019t just happen. You can\u2019t sit around and wait and hope something happens. Now, sometimes life takes unexpected turns. I mean, things do happen, but it\u2019s not a policy. You have to try to make things happen and that\u2019s all about educating people, informing people, working on \u2019em, and it\u2019s tough. It\u2019s hard. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s very easy to be ignorant. It\u2019s blissful sometimes, and most ignorant people don\u2019t know that they are and don\u2019t want to admit that they are. I\u2019m not saying stupid. I\u2019m saying ignorant. They just really don\u2019t know. It takes a never-give-up attitude about it. I know it\u2019s tough, but the more people talk about it and the more people are made aware of it, I think, actually, the table is set. <\/p>\n

I think a large number of Americans just know this isn\u2019t right. They may not be able to put their finger on it, but this isn\u2019t right. “Health care ought not be the way it is. This just isn\u2019t right. I ought to be able to get a job that pays me something. For crying out loud, this is the United States of America.” All of this is known. The table is set. People are primed, I think, for explanations that persuade people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
