RUSH: Bashar Assad wants $1 billion to get rid of his chemical weapons. You talk about a shakedown? Bashar says it\u2019s gonna take him a year and $1 billion to get rid of his weapons.<\/p>\n

ASSAD: As I say, the relation depends on the credibility of the administration. We never looked at the United States as enemy. We never looked at the American people as enemy. We always like to have good relations with every country in the world, first of all, the United States, because they\u2019re the greatest country in the world. That\u2019s normal. That\u2019s self-evident.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Really? (chuckles) Putin doesn\u2019t think so! (laughing) Not anymore. (impression) “Greatest country in the world, United States. Of course, we love Americans. American policy. They want us to have no nukes? We\u2019ll have no nukes! They want no chemical weapons? We\u2019ll have no chemical weapons. But it\u2019s going to cost you. We want $1 billion.” Here\u2019s the next bite, number 18. <\/p>\n

ASSAD: It needs a lot of money. It needs about 1 billion. Eh, it\u2019s very detrimental to the environment. If the American administration is ready to pay those (sic) money and to take responsibility of bringing toxic materials to the United States, why don\u2019t they do it?<\/p>\n

RUSH: Man, do these people know how to play us or what? Their chemical weapons are very bad for the environment (impression), “and we need a lot of money. It needs about a billion dollar, a billion dollar, very detrimental to the environment! Is the American administration ready to pay those money, pay those money $1 billion to take our chemical weapons?” What, we\u2019re gonna take the weapons? Is that part of the new deal, we\u2019re gonna buy \u2019em now? (chuckling) One year to get rid of \u2019em, $1 billion to get rid of \u2019em and we\u2019re gonna get \u2019em? That\u2019s not gonna happen, Putin\u2019s gonna get \u2019em and they\u2019re gonna go to his Hezbollah.<\/p>\n
