RUSH: Ladies and gentlemen, I must, using my instincts here, apologize for the last 15 minutes<\/a> or so. I may have sounded like I was on the verge of out-of-control and I wasn\u2019t. My passion got the best of me, and I really did not mean to be shouting at everybody like that. Passion\u2019s one thing. Shouting is another. I hope you will accept my apology. I don\u2019t take back anything I said, \u2019cause it is just amazingly frustrating to be confronted with such willful ignorance. It\u2019s so unnecessary. <\/p>\n

The truth did not require a password. The truth did not require a log-in. The truth didn\u2019t even require a lot of effort. It just required an open mind, I mean, even if you\u2019re a dyed-in-the-wool Democrat and you have ultimate, total faith in your party. I\u2019ll just speak for myself, it doesn\u2019t serve me at all to lie about anything to anybody, to make anything up just to advance an agenda. Even if I gain ground that way, it\u2019s not real. It\u2019s all based on balsa wood lies. I do not do that. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

We\u2019re now looking here at what is the ultimate destruction of what was the best health care system in the world, and what was the greatest economy of the world. And we\u2019ve got people who now say, “I didn\u2019t know,” and you did know. You had a chance to know. You didn\u2019t avail yourself of the opportunity. You\u2019re running around, you\u2019re calling everybody else closed-minded, you\u2019re calling everybody else an extremist bigot, and you revel in ignorance because it is you who are closed-minded. The truth was easy to learn about who Obama is, and about what Obamacare was intended to be. So if you\u2019ll pardon me, I think I\u2019m sensing a pattern here, folks. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ve got a montage of all these media people saying Obama didn\u2019t know about NSA spying. Obama didn\u2019t know. He didn\u2019t know about the IRS. He didn\u2019t know about Fast and Furious. He didn\u2019t know that Obamacare\u2019s website was gonna be a bust. He didn\u2019t know anything. And that\u2019s the excuse? I just saw Gloria Borger on CNN, “Obama didn\u2019t know.” As though that\u2019s something to be proud of? That is a legitimate excuse? The president didn\u2019t know that the NSA was spying on foreign leaders, and you want us to give him a pass because he\u2019s that out of touch and detached that he didn\u2019t know, when the fact of the matter is they\u2019re lying to us again. BS, he didn\u2019t know. How stupid do they think we are? <\/p>\n

Obama doesn\u2019t know anything about Benghazi. He doesn\u2019t know anything about Fast and Furious. He didn\u2019t know anything about Syria. He didn\u2019t know anything about Obamacare. Didn\u2019t know anything about the NSA. He didn\u2019t know anything about Solyndra. He didn\u2019t know anything about how the stimulus was gonna go wrong. He didn\u2019t know diddly-squat. Congress had no idea that it would be this bad. They didn\u2019t know. The conservative talking heads in Washington, they didn\u2019t know for five weeks how bad it was gonna be. The political consultants, Republicans and Democrats, they didn\u2019t know. Nobody had any idea. <\/p>\n

Nobody in Washington has any idea about anything. The news today is, who didn\u2019t know? And they\u2019re doing it in a way that makes \u2019em look like they\u2019re proud of it, as though it\u2019s a legitimate excuse. “Well, don\u2019t get mad at Obama. He didn\u2019t know about the NSA spying.” Oh, he didn\u2019t? “No. No. And that\u2019s why you shouldn\u2019t be mad. He didn\u2019t know.” You mean these powerful forces that he can\u2019t control are out doing all this and he doesn\u2019t know anything about it? “That\u2019s right he\u2019s out campaigning. He\u2019s upset about it as anybody else.” Am I doing it again? Well, I tell you, the only people that knew, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Sarah Palin, me, talk radio, we knew. Ah, jeez.<\/line>BREAK TRANSCRIPT<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I don\u2019t believe it. At least CNN\u2019s asking the right question. “If Obama didn\u2019t know the NSA was spying on Merkel, why not?” But it\u2019s such a crock anyway to believe that Obama didn\u2019t know. Have you ever thought about the way they cover for this guy? He didn\u2019t know. It\u2019s like he\u2019s a henpecked husband who doesn\u2019t do anything until his wife tells him to do it. Zip her up. That\u2019s the only thing he does behind her back. “He didn\u2019t know! He didn\u2019t know!”<\/p>\n

And we\u2019re supposed to take great comfort in that?<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s supposed to be an attaboy?<\/p>\n

“Well, you can\u2019t blame Obama! The NSA says he didn\u2019t know.” Why the hell not? That\u2019s a legitimate use of the NSA? They\u2019re spying on us, for crying out loud! Unbelievable. “He didn\u2019t know.” But it\u2019s the Limbaugh Theorem. He didn\u2019t know about Obamacare. He didn\u2019t know about this; he didn\u2019t know about that. He doesn\u2019t know anything. He doesn\u2019t know! “Yeah, he\u2019s a great guy. He doesn\u2019t know anything. Ha-ha. Well, we love Obama, and he doesn\u2019t know jack.” <\/line><\/p>\n

Do you people on the left ever stop to think how you celebrate genuine buffoonery and ignorance? Do you know the big news today — really, folks — is the vast majority of Obamacare sign-ups are from Medicaid? That really is it. If you want to get down to substance in the news today, there are people signing up for Medicaid, not Obamacare. They\u2019re signing up for Medicaid. You know why they\u2019re going to Medicaid? <\/p>\n

It\u2019s cheaper, and it is not Obamacare. <\/p>\n

You know, everybody\u2019s touting all these sign-ups in Kentucky. I mentioned it earlier. What is it, 31,000? Big whoop! Whatever the number is out of Kentucky,m Obama even called the governor congratulate him. “Oh, man you guys are doing great in Kentucky!” Yeah? Well, 82% of people signing up in Kentucky have been for Medicaid, and so today Kentucky is being held up by the Drive-Bys as the success story for Obamacare. <\/p>\n

These people are grasping at the flimsiest of straws. <\/p>\n

Everything is just an abject full frontal installment to our intelligence today, everything is. So Obama calls the governor of Kentucky to congratulate him for signing so many people up for Obamacare, but he didn\u2019t. He signed \u2019em up for Medicaid. Of course Obama doesn\u2019t care, folks. Signing up for Medicare\u2019s even better, actually, because Medicaid makes you even more dependent on the government than Obamacare does, right now. After a while, there isn\u2019t gonna be any difference.<\/p>\n

Where we\u2019re all headed is single-payer Medicaid. <\/p>\n

That\u2019s where we\u2019re headed. <\/p>\n

We\u2019re on the track for single-payer Medicaid, and that\u2019s why Obama\u2019s congratulating the governor of Kentucky because — by hook or by crook — he\u2019s way ahead of the game, whether he knows it or not. Nobody knows what they\u2019re doing, and nobody knows what\u2019s happening. Nobody knows jack, and they happen to be the people leading us. You know, the question is, “What does Obama ever know and when did he not know it?” <\/p>\n

It\u2019s, “What does Obama not know, and when did he not know it?” That\u2019s the question. In Watergate, it was, “What did the president know, and when did he know it?” In Obama\u2019s case it\u2019s, “What does he not know, and when did he not find out?” Okay, let\u2019s stay with this. Let me give you the audio sound bites. Here\u2019s the montage of the Drive-Bys, and this is the Limbaugh Theorem on parade. This is the Drive-Bys pushing the idea that Obama didn\u2019t know what the NSA\u2019s been doing.<\/line><\/p>\n

CHRIS CUOMO: President Obama was unaware for years!<\/line>TERRY MORAN: For almost five years (b-roll noise), President Obama had no idea!<\/line><\/p>\n

MICHAELA PEREIRA: President Obama did not know about it. The program stopped when the White House found out this summer.<\/p>\n

JOSH ELLIOTT: President Obama knew nothing!<\/p>\n

CHARLIE ROSE: … without President Obama\u2019s (b-roll noise) knowledge.<\/p>\n

NORAH O\u00c2\u2019DONNELL: So, uh, the United States is spying on 35 world leaders and the president of the United States doesn\u2019t know anything about it?<\/p>\n

JOHN MILLER: The president was never briefed!<\/p>\n

BRET BAIER: President Obama did not know for five years!<\/p>\n

JONATHAN KARL: The president of the United States didn\u2019t know anything about this for five years!<\/p>\n

GEORGE STEPHANOPOULOS: Yeah, hard to believe they wouldn\u2019t tell him. <\/p>\n

RUSH: That\u2019s George Stephanopoulos. Do you believe these people are singing his praises? These people, in this montage, are trying to excuse Obama. This is a plus. “He didn\u2019t know! He didn\u2019t know! Don\u2019t blame him! He didn\u2019t know! Five years, he didn\u2019t know!” The NSA spying the hell on everybody else, that he knows, but he doesn\u2019t know that we\u2019re spying on foreign leaders? You know, the stuff they\u2019re asking us to swallow today, folks? Even with mustard or mayonnaise it\u2019d still taste like garbage. <\/p>\n

This is just… Here I go again. I\u2019m gonna have rein it in. <\/p>\n

This just… Do these people have the slightest idea how they sound? “Hey, Obama didn\u2019t know! He didn\u2019t know! He didn\u2019t know!” Really? President of the United States didn\u2019t know? You think that\u2019s a way to gain respect for the guy, “He didn\u2019t know”? Their objective is to keep him out of trouble. That\u2019s all they care a whit about. Andrea Mitchell (NBC News, Washington) was on the Today show today. She\u2019s in near tears, from what I\u2019m told, because Obama is a rock star. Nobel Peace Prize! But he didn\u2019t know anything. How do you get the Nobel Peace Prize and not know anything? <\/p>\n

Anyway, let\u2019s listen to what she says.<\/line><\/p>\n

MITCHELL: When he was a candidate, Barack Obama was a rock star in Europe. That was then; this is now. How did the man who won the Nobel Peace Prize just months into his presidency become the subject of Europe\u2019s scorn? The White House can thank NSA leaker Edward Snowden.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, that\u2019s how it happened! <\/p>\n

That dreaded Snowden guy!<\/p>\n

Why, if it weren\u2019t for him, Europe would love Obama. But wait, Obama didn\u2019t know about Snowden. So how can Europe blame Obama? He didn\u2019t know. But Andrea, she\u2019s really upset because Obama was a big rock star in Berlin, Cairo, all over Europe and Asia and Africa. Now they\u2019re laughing at him, and it\u2019s all of because of Snowden? What, a 25-year-old kid can bring about this kind of shame for the president?<\/p>\n

But he didn\u2019t know, Andrea. Edward Snowden knew more than Obama did, and that\u2019s why we\u2019re supposed to continue to respect Obama \u2019cause Snowden knew and Obama didn\u2019t know. And Major Garrett (formerly of Fox, now at CBS This Morning) is doing a report here. I don\u2019t think these guys know what hit \u2019em. This is another little 15 seconds on Europe hating Obama.<\/p>\n

GARRETT: For these European Union countries, there is outrage and disgust with the scope of US surveillance. For those European Union nations, it\u2019s a rude awakening because many of them thought President Obama, at least in terms of surveillance, would be much different than President George W. Bush.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Gee, I don\u2019t believe what I\u2019m hearing. Major Garrett is a former Foxie. “For these European Union countries there is outrage at…”? Bull. They know we\u2019re spying on \u2019em. They\u2019re just saying this garbage, too. It\u2019s expected. “For European nations, it\u2019s a rude awakening because many of them thought Obama, at least in terms of surveillance, would be much different…” You know, what do these people have to complain about?<\/p>\n

He\u2019s giving them everything! He\u2019s letting them have or whatever they want. Whatever they want in Benghazi, they got it. Whatever Bashar al-Assad wants, he\u2019s got it, and we\u2019ll pay him. Crime in Italy\u2019s sake! Well, let\u2019s go to the White House briefing, shall we? Let\u2019s just keep piling on here, folks. This is at the White House. It\u2019s the spokeskid, Jay Carney, at the daily press briefing, a Q&A with CNN senior White House correspondent Jim Acosta. What did we have him in the news for last week? Come on, brain! <\/p>\n

He was in the news for something.<\/a> It\u2019s like he had an awakening and discovered something about Obama that… Ah, it\u2019ll come to me. Anyway, so Jim Acosta was asking the spokeskid question. It\u2019s an exchange here about the reports that Obama didn\u2019t know the NSA was spying on Angela Merkel until this summer — when, of course, they shut it down — and also that he was not informed of problems with the Obamacare website \u2019til nearly a week later.<\/p>\n

See? He didn\u2019t even know about that! Is this not amazing? So here is Acosta and Carney talking about this stuff.<\/p>\n

ACOSTA: Republican critics are making the case that the president appears to be in the dark about some pretty significant stories that are swirling around this White House.<\/p>\n

CARNEY: Well, I… “Republican critics” say a lot of things.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Right. You know, this is embarrassing on both sides. These reporters know all this is absurd. Either Obama doesn\u2019t know jack or he\u2019s a liar, and they have decided that the best course is that Obama doesn\u2019t know jack. There\u2019ll be the least political damage with Obama not knowing jack than “Obama lied.” That\u2019s what they\u2019ve calculated here. One more. Jay Carney, daily press briefing. Here\u2019s the ABC White House mouthpiece, Jonathan Karl, talking with Carney about reports that Obama didn\u2019t know that the NSA was spying on Angela Merkel until this summer.<\/p>\n

KARL: Is it conceivable, is it believable that the president would not know about surveillance of a head of state of a close American ally? I mean, is that…? Does that sound plausible to you?<\/p>\n

CARNEY: I mean, the Wall Street Journal probably doesn\u2019t appreciate the suggestion that their story is wrong, but I would say simply that we\u2019re not gonna comment on specific activities reported in the press.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: Because we don\u2019t know anything, either, here. If Obama doesn\u2019t know, how could Carney know? If Obama doesn\u2019t know what went on, how could the spokesperson know what went on? If Obama doesn\u2019t know, how can anybody there know what went on? Jim Acosta! That\u2019s right. I remember what Jim Acosta said now, my friends. Jim Acosta of CNN, he\u2019s the guy that tweeted he was so glad to hear the leaf blowers again in DC, \u2019cause it meant that the government was back in business after the shutdown. <\/p>\n

He was so happy to hear the leaf blowers!<\/p>\n

So the Drive-Bys are trying to help Obama out. They\u2019re saying, for instance, “The NSA has been spying on Merkel since 2002, so it\u2019s Bush\u2019s fault. Obama didn\u2019t know! It\u2019s just Bush! See, Bush didn\u2019t tell him how bad the economy was and he didn\u2019t tell him they were spying on Merkel! He didn\u2019t tell him, so Obama just didn\u2019t know. He just didn\u2019t know,” and that is a plus? <\/p>\n

That is somehow supportive? That is somehow exonerating? Well, I know he doesn\u2019t like the intelligence briefs, but that\u2019s only \u2019cause he already knows the stuff. See, we\u2019re told Obama knows everything, that he\u2019s smarter than everybody so he doesn\u2019t need to be told anything because he already knows it. Remember? That was part of the campaign. “The guy is smarter than anybody. There\u2019s never been a politician like him! He knows things that we can\u2019t possibly comprehend, he\u2019s so far ahead of us.”<\/p>\n

And today, he doesn\u2019t know jack about anything.<\/p>\n
