NBC News and Lisa Myers — who’s good, by the way. But they do seem surprised. I guess that’s what continues to get to me. I don’t understand all the surprise from people. I guess Drive-Bys, we can understand it, but it’s been well known all along.

We’ve said that 100% of current health insurance plans are gonna have to be canceled because no insurance company can offer insurance at the same price with all the Obamacare mandates piled on. It’s just not possible. With every Obamacare mandate, there’s no way that you were gonna be able to keep your insurance, yet it is in the law. I read to you from the actual law, Obamacare, where it says you get to keep your insurance, but you don’t. Valerie Jarrett has tweeted today (paraphrased), “Well, that’s not our fault. The insurance companies did it!”

Well, it’s just a lie. The insurance companies are having to change everything in order to be compliance with all of the mandates that are in Obamacare. “President Obama repeatedly assured Americans that after [Obamacare] became law, people who liked their health insurance would be able to keep it. But millions of Americans are getting or are about to get cancellation letters for their health insurance under Obamacare, say experts, and the Obama [regime] has known that for at least three years.

“Four sources deeply involved in [Obamacare] tell NBC News that 50 to 75% of the 14 million consumers who buy their insurance individually can expect to receive a ‘cancellation’ letter,” and they have begun in droves. We’re now into the hundreds of thousands of people who have gotten cancellation letters, and these are people who fully expected to be able to keep their plan, because the president of the United States assured them they could!

Yet here comes NBC News saying the regime knew all along that wasn’t gonna happen, which means the regime was lying from the get-go, all along. They knew that what they were saying wasn’t true. They knew that premiums weren’t gonna come down $2,500 and they knew that people weren’t gonna be able to keep their plans — and can I give you the main reason why? Because the long-term objective of Obamacare is to get rid of insurance companies, long-term.

I’m fully convinced that the chaos that’s happening now could well be intentional to speed it up. Folks, if you go listen (I’ve got the sound bites here, and I’m gonna get to ’em in the next hour) to Obama telling union people what the plan is for how to get single payer, that’s what this all about. It’s how to get to one provider for health care and insurance, and that’s the federal government. That’s the objective. It’s been the objective for 50 years! Obama told the SEIU in 2007 that he knows people wouldn’t accept it overnight.

He said that it’s gonna take five, 10, maybe 15 years to get there — and the way we’re gonna get there is to have people demand it, and how do you do that? You so screw up the existing system that people say, “Could you just strip all this away? You guys do it,” and eventually get to single payer with the public frustrated and demanding that. That’s been the plan all along. The plan all along is to eliminate private sector insurance, and I’m just gonna tell you again: I have known this since before Obama was inaugurated.

I have known this since before I heard of Obama. This is what the Clintons intended Hillarycare to be. This is not a mystery. It’s not up for debate. This is not something that I might be wrong about. This is who they are, and it is what their plan for health care is. It’s right out there. All you have to do is to accept it, and apparently that’s what’s so difficult for people to do. Grab sound bite number four. Get number four first. NBC Nightly News, Peter Alexander was reporting on Obamacare and how many people are losing their coverage.

ALEXANDER: That millions will lose or have to change their individual policies is not a surprise to the administration. NBC News senior investigative correspondent Lisa Myers found buried in the 2010 Obamacare regulations language predicting a reasonable range for the percentage of individual policies that would terminate is 40% to 67%. Health policy expert Bob Laszewski says the new rules make it difficult to carry over an old plan with less comprehensive coverage.

RUSH: Right, there it is. Now, NBC, I think you should know, has deleted this story from their website. Our buddies at Breitbart found this. “On Monday, NBC News reported that President ObamaÂ’s administration knew for three years that Americans would lose their current insurance under Obamacare. The story quickly became the lead at the Drudge Report, making it the hottest political story on the Internet immediately. For several hours, there was no problem. Then, late at night, the story was pulled, the link was changed thereby breaking the Drudge link, and stealth edits were made to the piece. In particular, one key paragraph met the cutting room floor…”

So NBC yanked it after their own report had publicized it. Forty to 67% of existing of existing plans would go by the wayside. Lisa Myers found that language buried in the 2010 Obamacare regulations predicting 40 to 67% of current plans would have to be canceled. Now, NBC deleted the article and they put it back up without a “key paragraph,” is what they did. They eliminated a key paragraph. Now it’s all back up from what I understand because so much heat was brought to bear on the fact that they took it down.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

RUSH: Can we assume that everybody on our side understands the long-term objective here is single payer? I guess we can’t assume that everybody on our side understands that, either, ’cause Obama may be a “pragmatist,” and he may recognize his mistake down the road and correct it.

BREAK TRANSCRIPT

CBS News, in addition to NBC and a random act of journalism, with a story yesterday saying the Obama administration knew that up to 67% of people were gonna lose their insurance as far back as 2010. They knew it. It was in the law that they wouldn’t lose it, but nevertheless, they knew that people were gonna lose their insurance. So when Obama was out saying, “If you like your plan, you keep it,” not true. When Obama was out saying, “And the average premium’s gonna come down $2,500 per year per family,” not true. None of what has been said about this pretty much, in terms of the ways that they have promoted it and sold it, turned out to be true at all. </line>
</line>

And now CBS. “CBS News has learned more than two million Americans have been told they cannot renew their current insurance policies — more than triple the number of people said to be buying insurance under the new Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare.” You know, the real news here is that the American media has briefly come out of retirement here to report this.

Now, this is news that was all obvious three years ago. It was obvious that Obama was not telling the truth when he told people they could keep their plan and it was gonna cost $2,500 less. And the media knew it. Well, maybe they didn’t, you know, so incurious, maybe they didn’t. They just accept whatever Obama says. But whatever, there are some random acts of journalism taking place now. It’s almost like they’ve come out of retirement to report the news here and there. It’s my contention that this news was obvious years ago, just like who Obama has always been was obvious years ago. Just like it’s always been obvious that where we’re headed is single payer.

Let’s get to the audio and illustrate. First, here is Jan Crawford, CBS This Morning, talking about this two million Americans have been told they can’t renew their current plans.

CRAWFORD: This is just 27% of the iceberg, and the people who are opening these letters are shocked to learn they can’t keep their current policies, despite the president’s assurances to the contrary. It’s an unexpected reality (sic) of Obamacare, being told through anecdotes in local papers and on social media. CBS News has confirmed with insurance companies across the country that more than two million people are getting notices they no longer can keep their existing plans. In California, 279,000; in Michigan, 140,000; Florida, 300,000; and in New Jersey, 800,000 — and those numbers are certain to go even higher. Some companies tell us they’ve sent letters but they won’t tell us how many.</line>
</line>

RUSH: Now, in this report, she says, “It’s an unexpected reality of Obamacare…” It’s not unexpected! This is what I’m gonna have to come to grips with. I just have made too many assumptions. I’m not including the media. I mean, I know that they’re just Democrats disguised as journalists, but on our side, I have made the assumption that everybody knows what we’re up against, that everybody knows what we have to defeat, and I’ve been terribly wrong.

I don’t think, in all candor — and it’s kind of sad. I don’t think that inside the Beltway, in either the Republican Party or what is said to be the conservative movement, there is an attitude of, “We have to defeat them.” I don’t think there’s a desire to fight any of this. I think there’s a desire to commentate on it and to explain it, maybe point out Obama’s hypocrisy, but I don’t sense a desire to fight.

When people rise up and want to fight it like Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, look what happens to ’em. They get shot down by their own party. It’s the Let’s Not Make Waves Coalition or Chorus inside the Beltway. This is what I’ve been wrong about. Maybe you guys have known this and figured it out long before I did. I mean, I know we haven’t been universal here, but the number of people who do not have any desire to fight or defeat this, I think, is much larger than I assumed.

I think that, by the way, is one of the explanations for the divide that exists in the Republican Party and the conservative movement. There’s some of us that want to fight and defeat this, and others who have no desire to do that, who think doing that actually is a mistake. It’s a waste of resources. They just want to win the election, get their Senate chairmanships back, and be in charge of the money.

That’s victory to them, not defeating any of this, not stopping any of this — and that’s why the Tea Party exists, in fact, because those people want to defeat this. Defund it, delay it, repeal it, roll it back. The Tea Party is made up of people who want to put the brakes on this mad dash to the left in this country. Many of their elected representatives and people who they think are their media supporters in Washington are not of that mind-set.

That’s the divide. (interruption) I see Snerdley nodding his head in agreement an eighth of an inch at a time in there. I could detect that, an eighth of an inch, like Nero Wolfe did. Now, here’s Obama. We played this before. I can’t tell you how many times we’ve aired this. This goes back to 2007 at a Service Employees International Union health care forum. This is presidential candidate “Barack Hussein Obama! Mmm! Mmm! Mmm!” in 2003.

OBAMA 2007: My commitment is to make sure that we’ve got universal health care for all Americans by the end of my first term as president. I would hope that we set up a system that allows those who can go through their employer to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort, but I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately. There’s going to be potentially some transition process. I can envision a decade out or 15 years out or 20 years out.

RUSH: Do you hear that? We played this I can’t tell you how many times during the 2008 campaign. I can’t believe that people on our side never heard this or heard about it or read this or didn’t know it. “I would hope that we set up a system that allows those who can go through their employer to access a federal system or a state pool of some sort,” an “exchange,” if you will.

[B]ut I don’t think we’re going to be able to eliminate employer coverage immediately,” but we’re gonna be able to eliminate it — and when you eliminate employer coverage, it’s, “Hello, single payer!” It’s gonna take “some transition process.” He’s telling the SEIU guys to be patient, but they all know where they’re headed: Single payer. Let’s go back to 2003, Obama at an AFL-CIO conference, campaigning for the Senate.

OBAMA 2003: I happen to be a proponent of single-payer, universal health care plans!

FOLLOWERS: (applause)

OBAMA 2003: Single-payer health care plan! Universal health care plan! That’s what I’d like to see.

RUSH: That’s 2003, 10 years ago. It is not a mystery what this man has wanted, folks.
