RUSH: Do you remember little Elian Gonzalez? Do you remember Gonzalez? He was living down there with Maras Lasias. It wasn\u2019t her name. That\u2019s how Gloria Estefan pronounced it, Maras Lasias, she\u2019s living down there in the House, Maras Lasias, the aunt of Elian Gonzalez. They were trying to keep the kid, the kid\u2019s father is in Cuba, his mother died on the way to America. <\/p>\n

Elian made it, and the argument was, “Well, hell, his mother brought him here, he should stay here.” He had family here and they\u2019re trying to keep him. And Janet Reno flew down there from Washington with muscle from the AFT, stormed the house, took little Elian Gonzalez and gave him to his father, Juan Gonzalez. Juan Gonzalez had flown in from Cuba, the father. Juan Gonzalez took Elian Gonzalez home. Fidel Castro called a press conference. I\u2019ll never forget this. In praising the father, Juan Gonzalez, he said he\u2019s a good worker. I said, is that not perfect? This is how a Marxist leader looks at a citizen, as a good worker. He\u2019s just a peon. He\u2019s a good worker. So, anyway, they took Elian Gonzalez home, and we knew it. We called it back then. They\u2019re gonna turn this kid into an agent of propaganda, and in five years he\u2019s gonna be out there ripping America. <\/p>\n

And, lo and behold, the time has come. Little Elian Gonzalez is now blaming America for Cuba\u2019s problems. On the day after Barack Hussein Obama shakes the hand of Raul Castro, here comes Elian Gonzalez, who is now… How old would he be? I forget the year. Twenties now, maybe? Here\u2019s yesterday afternoon on CNN\u2019s Newsroom<\/a>, the senior Latin-American affairs correspondent, Rafael Romo, reporting about an interview that an unidentified CNN reporter conducted with Elian Gonzalez. <\/p>\n

Here is the report…<\/p>\n

ROMO: We wanted to know if he was affected psychologically, had any long-lasting effects after the ordeal that he lived in Florida, and this is what he told us.<\/p>\n

GONZALEZ (via translator): I haven\u2019t had any long-lasting psychological trauma. It hasn\u2019t affected me. But it has been hard on my family because those were difficult moments. But in spite of everything I\u2019m in Cuba, and that\u2019s great because it has been 15 wonderful years in which I have experienced great growth without precedence as a Cuban revolutionary youth espousing the cause of the Cuban Revolution.<\/p>\n

RUSH: The Cuban Revolution? What an absolute joke. There he is. Elian Gonzalez, just turned 20 now and he\u2019s a proud agent, and he\u2019s espousing the cause of the Cuban Revolution. There was then a question from one of the reporters at CNN, Brooke Baldwin — the infobabe, the anchor, the anchorette — and she was talking with the correspondent Rafael Romo about the interview the unidentified guy did with Elian Gonzalez. <\/line><\/p>\n

After this bite, then Brooke Baldwin said, “Before you go, just with Raul Castro on the brain because of the handshake with President Obama, what about his brother Fidel Castro? Did this reporter ask Elian Gonzalez how he feels about Fidel?” You know, only a CNN reporter would care about that. What did Elian say about Fidel? What can Elian Gonzalez tell us about Fidel? To hell with what he thinks about the revolution. What does he think about Fidel!<\/p>\n

ROMO: Interesting you ask, because just before he traveled to Ecuador he was interviewed by a Cuban newspaper who asked him specifically, how does he feel about Fidel Castro, and this is exactly what he said. Listen to this, Brooke! He said, “Fidel Castro for me is like a father. I don\u2019t profess to have any religion, but if I did, my god would be Fidel Castro.” There\u2019s really no need, Brooke, to say much more than that —<\/p>\n
