RUSH: Oh. It\u2019s a 10-year-old. I just saw that. Hi, Cameron. How are you?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Good.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, I\u2019m glad you called. It\u2019s great to have you on the program.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Great to be talking to you.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, thank you very much. What\u2019s on your mind? What did you want to talk about?<\/p>\n

CALLER: I wanted to talk about the Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims<\/a>.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Ah, you\u2019ve read that?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yep.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Did you like it?<\/p>\n

<\/a>CALLER: Like it? I loved it!<\/p>\n

RUSH: (laughing) Aw, Cameron, I love you. What a great answer. “Like it? I loved it!” That\u2019s great, Cameron. Thank you very much. I appreciate that. Who\u2019s your favorite character, or what was your favorite part?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Rush is my favorite character, and my favorite part? Really, the boat. They were on the boat with, like, all of them that were on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, the Mayflower. So you like Rush Revere. He\u2019ll be happy to hear that because he\u2019s getting a little jealous of all the fan mail that Liberty is getting.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Well, I also think you should like make one about the Revolutionary War.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Oh, you want me to write another book about the Revolutionary War? Well, okay, that\u2019s not a bad idea. I\u2019ll take your suggestion, and I\u2019ll think very hard about it. ‘Cause if you\u2019d like to read about it, I think it\u2019d be well worth your while. What interests you about the American Revolutionary War that you want to know more about?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, mainly the true, like, main stories about all the backgrounds on everyone in it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: So you want to know about the people that made it happen?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Okay. Well, we could probably do that at some point. By any chance, Cameron, have you heard the audio version of the book, or have you just read it?<\/p>\n

CALLER: No.<\/p>\n

RUSH: You haven\u2019t?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Just read it.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Just the read it. Okay. Just the book. Okay. I tell you what I\u2019m gonna do. When we\u2019re through here, don\u2019t hang up the phone. Mr. Snerdley will pick the phone back up and he\u2019ll get your address, and we will send you an audio version of the book so that you can listen to it — and it\u2019s read by me, so you will really like it.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Oh, thanks.<\/p>\n

RUSH: It\u2019s an entirely different experience from reading it. It\u2019s the same words, it\u2019s the same book, but rather than you read it, I read it out loud and you can hear it. It takes about 4-1\/2 hours to listen to it at one time, so you may not be able to spend all that time doing it in just one sitting, but whenever you want to listen to a little of it, you can. You can have your mom put it on in the car or however you listen to music. You could listen to it that way. So, Cameron, hang on, and Mr. Snerdley, the nice man who answered the phone when you called — he was nice, wasn\u2019t he?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah. Good. He\u2019ll be right back with you and get your address so they can send you the audio version. Folks, I have to tell you something here. If you would have told me five years ago that 10-year-olds would have been calling me and asking me to write a book, I would have asked you, “What do you know that I don\u2019t?” But this is the most amazing thing. This is the target group, age 10 to 13.<\/p>\n

Actually the book is written for everybody, for parents and grandparents to read to the kids or to read with them. But it\u2019s written for the 10-to-13 age group, and it is designed to counter what\u2019s being taught throughout the public school system about the history of the founding of this country. It\u2019s an effort to get the truth to people who are maybe not being taught it, not the way you and I were taught it.<\/p>\n

To get calls from people like Cameron, 10-year-old kids like Cameron, who are enjoying it, it\u2019s a big deal. That\u2019s a big deal. I can\u2019t tell you how much it makes me happy and just a thrill it is. Cameron, I really thank you for your call. I appreciate it, and we\u2019ll get the audio version out to you soon. You know, these people call and ask, “Will you write another book?” I\u2019m kind of hamstrung here, folks.<\/p>\n

There are things I can\u2019t say at the moment but will be able to say somewhere down the line. “Can you write another book, Mr. Limbaugh? Will you write one?” I hate to send \u2019em away not knowing whether there\u2019s going to be another book, but, at some point, their question will be answered and all will be well. They\u2019ll all be happy and they\u2019ll all be thrilled — as will you!<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you very much, sir. I appreciate that.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Hey, on our Christmas travels with my wife and two small children we had a great time listening to your audio version of the Rush Revere book.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Thank you, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: A quick question, though — and I know where your allegiances lie. But what type of cell phone does Rush Revere use to transmit video over the space-time continuum? I\u2019d be interested in hearing that.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, as you know, the brand of telephone Rush Revere uses is not specified in the book.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir.<\/p>\n


\nRUSH: There are a few reasons for this. But suffice it to say that Rush Revere is able to take his iPhone with him as he time travels with the horse Liberty and is able to take video of what he sees and bring it back and show actual history to his classroom.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, he was. I haven\u2019t heard you talk about this in a while, and I just would appreciate your comments. I\u2019m a little bit of a buff like yourself. I haven\u2019t heard you talk about the new MacBook Pro — or, no, the Mac Pro, the new one they came out with, whether you had it. I would appreciate any comments on that and any of the other Apple products that recently come out.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, okay, look. The Mac Pro, it\u2019s interesting that you should ask about this. The Mac Pro is Apple\u2019s new desktop. It hasn\u2019t been refreshed in three years. There were some people who thought they were gonna let it go by the wayside because they don\u2019t sell that many of them and they\u2019re focusing on mobile and more consumer-priced goods, and the Mac Pro is a pro machine. It\u2019s for video, Hollywood, movie, TV editing and this kind of thing.<\/p>\n

So this new Mac Pro is out, and I\u2019ve been very fascinated trying to learn about it, and I\u2019ve read a number of reviews reviewing the machine as it would be used by professional video editors, but they have not reviewed it as I would use it. So I haven\u2019t actually been able to learn whether it\u2019s any faster than what I have. Some of the reviews have said that the new Mac Pro is no faster in certain configurations than a current iMac or a MacBook Pro laptop.<\/p>\n

It turns out that isn\u2019t true. I actually have a Mac Pro. I don\u2019t have it set up. I haven\u2019t had it delivered. It\u2019s in the hands of my IT consultant. I had him run some tests on it, and it outruns, in finder operations (for those who know what I\u2019m talking about), just in making copies and dealing with e-mail and standard, ordinary finder operations, it just races past anything out there. If you do use it for video editing, there\u2019s nothing like it.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s absolutely nothing like it on the market. The thing peaks at around 10 grand, and if you wanted to put it together (say, on a Windows machine), it\u2019s the cheapest you can get for what you get. If you wanted to put it together using parts from other systems, the minimum price would be 13 grand, what it would cost you, and this thing — peaked out — is at 10, a little under 10. So I\u2019m excited. I\u2019m not gonna have it installed here for use for two or three weeks, but it\u2019s apparently the real deal.<\/p>\n

But back to your question on Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims. You know, folks, we just continue to be inundated with mail from young people who are reading this book and who are loving it, and I just don\u2019t know how to convey to you the sense of achievement or success that we all feel with this, because we targeted a market here.<\/p>\n

This book has a mission, and the mission is to contradict and to counter some of the falsehoods that are being taught to young people in the public school system and in the university system when they get there about the founding of this country. This country was not founded in an unjust or immoral way. It was not founded with inequality, and it was not founded by a bunch of racist, bigot, sexist homophobes.<\/p>\n

That just outrages me. So, you know, people been urging me to do another book, and I said, “Ah, been there; done that. I\u2019ve done two of them, and the conservative manifesto book market is just everybody\u2019s doing one, and I don\u2019t do things other people have done,” and it was my wife, Kathryn, who said, “Well, you care about education. Why don\u2019t you do a book for kids about the Pilgrims. You\u2019re big on the true story of Thanksgiving,” and that lit a fire. That got me all jazzed up and charged. So we did it.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been a great experience, and it\u2019s just a fantastic start to what is a mission. Now, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, the premise is we have Rush Revere, who is the spokesman for Two If By Tea. It\u2019s the best iced tea company in the world, by the way, and the best-tasting iced tea. He\u2019s got a time-traveling horse, and they can go anywhere in American history. Anywhere. Well, you set that vehicle up as a device, as a creative device, as an author will do, and it\u2019s limitless.<\/p>\n

The possibilities are limitless in what you can do, in terms of storytelling and conveying the truth of American history — and the first book, Rush Revere and the Brave Pilgrims, was about really the very foundational beginnings of this country and who those people were, what they went through, how they got here, why they wanted to come, what happened to them when they did get here and what they wrought.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s been really exciting. We had a great fall, great holiday season with the book, and it\u2019s still out. They\u2019re still going like gangbusters, and I can\u2019t tell you how gratified I am by it, because I didn\u2019t just do another book to do another book. I didn\u2019t just do it to do it because it\u2019s out there to be done. It actually has a mission, and to get these calls from young people who\u2019ve read it telling me how much they like it? It\u2019s just the best.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s hard to describe the feeling, and to read the e-mail that they\u2019re sending to the website, TwoIfByTea.com<\/a>. The Adventures of Rush Revere portal is there, and we\u2019ve got big plans for that. Huge plans for the entire enterprise. This is step one, and to have it received like this has been profound. You know, I haven\u2019t been on TV talking about it. I haven\u2019t done any interviews. I\u2019ve been trying not to overdo it.<\/p>\n

I just mention it occasionally here on the radio program, and it just has been fantastic, and I would be remiss if I didn\u2019t take a little time here and thank everybody for helping to make it a success, because, as is the case in every aspect of this show, none of it do I take for granted.
