RUSH: Governor Christie just yesterday<\/a>, I believe, and frequently many times prior has talked about how he\u2019s different because he\u2019s shown he can work the other side. He said (paraphrasing), “It\u2019s not that we don\u2019t have arguments, we have arguments, but, at the end of the day, we put it all aside and we work together. We get things done in this state. I know how to work with the other side. I know how to cross the aisle and get things done for the people of New Jersey.” <\/p>\n

<\/a>Okay. Given that, have any of the Democrats that Governor Christie claims that he can work with come out and supported him? Not that I\u2019ve heard. Have any of the RINOs, the Republicans in name only, the moderate Republicans, have any Republican establishment types come out and said that they support Christie? They haven\u2019t. This is the thing, folks. This is the thing. Republicans, when any of them get in trouble, I mean, it\u2019s like a bunch of wildebeests. <\/p>\n

If a lion in Africa attacks a wildebeest, all the other wildebeests scram and get out of there and offer no assistance whatsoever. You\u2019ve seen it on National Geographic. You\u2019ve seen it on all the earth shows, all the animal shows, animals eating animal shows, you\u2019ve seen it all. And the Republican Party is the same way. When one of them gets in trouble, nobody steps up to defend \u2019em. They all stand aside and wait and see how it\u2019s going to end up because they are afraid to get involved and be tarnished. Even though Christie has denied any involvement, fired two staffers, and has claimed he was lied to, even with that, none of the Democrats who Christie claims that he works with and gets along with have come out and supported him, and no Republicans have, either. <\/p>\n

It\u2019s so typical, so, so typical. No Republican establishment media types. In fact, one of the funniest things I saw last night — I\u2019m not gonna mention any names because I don\u2019t want to embarrass anybody. But there was a young Millennial type conservative commentator who was trying to make a point. He said, “If he\u2019s directly involved, he needs to quit, he needs to resign! If it\u2019s been shown that he was directly involved and he closed those lanes, then he needs to quit.” And then the same commentator said, “That could be the perfect setup for Christie\u2019s presidential aspirations<\/a>, \u2019cause after he quits, he\u2019ll gain respect. He\u2019ll gain new respect. He had to quit. He\u2019s not gonna put up with this, and then when he decides to make an official run for president, he\u2019ll have newfound respect and newfound power, and it could totally –“<\/line><\/p>\n

I\u2019m reading this and I\u2019m stunned. So the point is, no help. Christie\u2019s out there dangling. He\u2019s still speaking, folks. It\u2019s coming up on two hours and he\u2019s still doing this presser. So no RINOs and no Democrats. The Democrats — I wonder if Christie knows this — the Democrats want him gone. The Democrats are gonna try — a federal investigation — the Democrats are gonna try to do anything they can to get rid of him, while he\u2019s out there talking about how he can work with \u2019em and get things done.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
