Hello.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes.  Good afternoon! I\u2019m proud to talk to you about a situation. It\u2019s a comparative analysis about a truth about the $15 an hour.  If you have a person working in the burger field on an annual salary of $31,200 and a soldier on an army salary of $25,913, that\u2019s a sergeant of two years\u2019 experience.  It\u2019s a difference of what skills are needed.  I got a problem with that.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Okay.  Let me make sure I understand. By &#8220;the burger field,&#8221; you mean a burger flipper?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yes, sir.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  And a burger flipper at 15 an hour is making $31,000 a year?<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_86137\" class=\"aligncenter\" align=\"middle\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/RushPhonesWeGoDIttoshotFastFood.jpg\"\/><BR\/>CALLER:  Thirty-one two.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>RUSH: Do you know any such people making $31,000 a year flipping burgers?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: No.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I don\u2019t either.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER: Well, it\u2019s gonna happen in Washington State.  That\u2019s the problem.  It\u2019s gonna start<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Okay, so you mean the minimum wage is gonna be applied, and if they\u2019re given enough hours, the burger flipper could end up making $31,000 a year whereas an American soldier will only make $25,000?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  That\u2019s like a sergeant with two years of experience.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Sergeant two years.  So you\u2019re comparing the relative worth?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah, and you got one week training for a program, testing for basic stills and restaurant procedure &#8212; and here you go in an Army guy. It\u2019s 10 weeks basic training, physical stress, map reading, drill ceremonies and land navigation, problem solving, all of this, and then the workplace hazard for him includes death, dismemberment, loss of limbs, disability, PTSD. I can go on and on, and they\u2019re deployed 6,000 miles away from home for months at a time.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  True.  All true.  But it\u2019s voluntary.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  I agree.  I agree.  So is working, the way we\u2019ve done it today.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  What do you think is the solution?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  What do I think is the solution?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  We don\u2019t pay it.  I don\u2019t see $15 an hour.  It\u2019s gonna be crazy.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  We\u2019re not paying soldiers $15 an hour, and if we\u2019re gonna pay burger flippers $15 an hour we should pay soldiers $15 an hour?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Soldiers should be getting $25 an hour if a burger flipper\u2019s gonna get $15.  Think about it.<\/p>\n<p><img id=\"eZObject_86133\" class=\"alignright\" align=\"right\" src=\"https:\/\/live-rush-limbaugh.pantheonsite.io\/wp-content\/uploads\/ObamaTroops.jpg\"\/><BR\/>RUSH: (pause) I\u2019m thinking about it.<\/line><\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  (laughing)<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I don\u2019t know where this kind of thing stops, though.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah, I agree.  I agree 100%.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Once you start making value judgments like this.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I mean, okay, let\u2019s do the old argument about, &#8220;What do you mean, A-Rod gets $25 million versus Mrs. Small teaching my kid how to read? What\u2019s really more important?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.  Yeah.  But I\u2019m looking at the vulnerability of one field versus another.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  You\u2019ve obviously just had really bad experiences with people at fast-food restaurants and you have a built-in animosity toward them.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Who, me?<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  Just kidding. <\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Oh, okay.  Oh, I know.  I feel sorry for \u2019em also, but it\u2019s a steppingstone job.  It\u2019s not a lifetime situation.  It shouldn\u2019t be.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I know, but what would you do about it?  Would you reestablish, &#8220;Okay, if you\u2019re gonna flip burgers, the most you can make is $20,000 a year because you\u2019ve gotta make less than a soldier&#8221;? Would that be what you would say?<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  No, I would work!  I\u2019ve come the hard way.  I\u2019ve worked two jobs, three jobs.  I mean, you can\u2019t just work one job if you only gonna get paid $20,000 a year.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  But that\u2019s what soldiers do.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yeah.  Yeah.  Yeah.  Absolutely.  So they really are underpaid.  That\u2019s a fact.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  I don\u2019t disagree with that at all.  But again, it\u2019s private sector versus public.<\/p>\n<p>CALLER:  Yep.  I agree.  I agree.  I was just making a comparative analysis, and, you know, it\u2019s the world as it is.<\/p>\n<p>RUSH:  But it\u2019s really not different. I mean, that\u2019s not new.  Soldiers have always&#8230; My God, they\u2019re way underpaid, no matter who you compare them to, especially when you figure that they make up less than one-tenth of 1% of the population, and they volunteer to do it.  I mean, if you\u2019re gonna look at it that way, there\u2019s no way you could justify what they\u2019re paid, but they do it.  The burger-flipper thing? You know, that\u2019s just social activists and community organizers intimidating the fast food industry, is all that is. <\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re not being paid what anybody thinks they\u2019re worth.  They\u2019re being paid what they have to pay \u2019em to keep ACORN off their back.  Anyway, I know, there\u2019s injustice everywhere out there.  You can go nuts thinking about it. This is one of the reasons, by the way, why we here always have had such great respect and reverence for people in the military, and honor them every which way we can, and it\u2019s because they volunteer knowing everything about what they\u2019re getting into. <\/p>\n<p>They volunteer for it. <\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why I just cringe when these people are made fun of, impugned by the left. They\u2019re criticized. They make the choice to join the military, and the left will say, &#8220;They do that because America\u2019s economy sucks! There\u2019s nothing for them, or they\u2019re a bunch of dumb hayseeds in the first place and it\u2019s the only way they can get an education, because America\u2019s so unfair.&#8221;  I\u2019ve never understood that. Why put them down? Except the left considers the military the focus of evil in the world, but it\u2019s not something that\u2019s really brand-new.
