CALLER: Hello, Rush. Yeah, yeah. I\u2019m calling to say why I think they\u2019re going after Christie. Basically I don\u2019t think that Hillary Clinton is as strong a candidate as a lot of people think she is \u2019cause I remember reading back in 2008 —<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: — that even women were saying, you know, unkind words about her.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

CALLER: You know, and she was on the cover of I think it was Fortune magazine and all that. Big Business was claiming her and everything, and then, you know, it collapsed against Obama, who was an unknown.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, and so now we\u2019re just repeating history. Now we\u2019re back. I\u2019ll never forget it. Let me get the year right. It was February 2007, and a very famous person who was in a state of great fear said to me, “There\u2019s a 75% chance, as we sit here right now, that Hillary Clinton\u2019s gonna be the next president of the United States.” I said, “Well, we have to stop that.” He said, “You\u2019re damn right we do.” It was just assumed, in February 2007, that Hillary\u2019s the next president.<\/p>\n

It was just assumed — and then out of nowhere, as you say, here came the Bamster and upset all of these supposedly etched-in-stone plans. Well, guess what? We\u2019re back there again, and all of a sudden it\u2019s Hillary. So I\u2019m gonna ask you: When is the last time the Democrat front-runner outside of an incumbent got the nomination? They\u2019re just acting on the same stuff. It\u2019s just history repeating itself. “Hillary\u2019s automatic,” and Christie was the only guy beating her<\/a> in polls so they have to take Christie out.<\/p>\n
