CALLER: Good day, Rush. I got two projects that I think would get people back to work in this country. One of them is, you know, coming from the Midwest, you know that the Mississippi every year, come springtime, overflows.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: If we had the Army Corps of Engineers have a project where they would divert most of that water that destructs most of the people on the Mississippi, have it tunneled over to the Midwest where maybe we could have reservoirs with hydroelectric power to use that water and also give that water to the farmers. On the West Coast you hear a lot about California going into a drought.<\/line><\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I know it\u2019s expensive, but we had that big Pacific Ocean out there. Why don\u2019t they have solar power, power the desalinization plants —<\/p>\n

RUSH: You couldn\u2019t do it with solar power. You really need nuclear reactors to pull off desalinization on a significant level. It\u2019s nuclear reactors that desalinate ocean water on submarines. The Saudis — those are nuclear reactors. You couldn\u2019t do it. Solar, we don\u2019t know how to harness the energy yet. And the environmentalist wackos are not gonna allow solar, and they\u2019re not gonna put up with taking salt out of the ocean, that\u2019s nature. And diverting the Mississippi, that\u2019s work most Americans won\u2019t do. So nice try.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
