CALLER: Thank you, Rush. Thanks for having me on.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, welcome, sir.<\/p>\n

CALLER: I just want to get something off my chest. I used to be a victim of Democratic talking points, I guess you could say, where I grew up thinking that I am poor and that I really can\u2019t make it without them. And to see this immigration thing go through and all they\u2019re gonna see on the media is what I grew up with.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Yeah, which is that you can\u2019t do it without help.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

RUSH: You can\u2019t do it without a guiding hand from an elected official or government, right.<\/p>\n

CALLER: Right, exactly. And, you know, I\u2019m proof that it can happen. I\u2019m a conservative, not a Republican, and hard work does pay off. I don\u2019t need somebody to tell me, “Hey, you can\u2019t do it without me.” I can.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Would you describe yourself as self-reliant?<\/p>\n

CALLER: Yes, sir. Absolutely.<\/p>\n

RUSH: Well, when did this transformation in you take place?<\/p>\n

CALLER: When I was a teenager, and I actually, like most people, stumbled across you because throughout any other type of media there\u2019s no such thing as conservative talking. And so when I stumbled across you, I was like, whoa, no way; that\u2019s what I think, that\u2019s how I feel. So, you know, you kind of made me see a lot of things that I was thinking and that —<\/p>\n

RUSH: That is great. So you had your instincts, and then you found a radio show that validated them. You had somebody on the radio that was saying things that you thought were true that were right, and it gave you confidence to believe in yourself. That\u2019s how it works, folks. Exactly.
